Comments:  The hotel has a fabulous location and a wow factor, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. Poor quality and choice meant we ate out 4 times which we never do on all inclusive holidays.

one more thing to note, the hotel has 316 rooms, 160 of these are allocated to an italian tour operator every week so everything to do with entertainment, games etc is geared towards the italians

Comments:  we went as a party of 6 (5 adults 1 child) we all thoght the hotel was amazing we stayed in the bungalows as appose to the main hotel building which were brilliant, cleaned everyday and very spacious couldn't fault (although if you have young children probably not the best as they had 2 floors and no way of blocking of the stairs). all the staff we came accross were very helpfull and polite and were more than happy to help. we went on the beach a few times to do some snorkling which was brlliant you can either swim straight from the beach or go along the piers, the water is really shallow but still really good fun and there are plenty of loungers on the beach never had a problem getting one. although we went all inclusive there were things that were not included like the cave bar hence why it was always empty there were also a few restaurants near the beach which were on the grounds of the resort but are not included. there are sheisa tents on the grounds which again you have to pay for but well worth the money, a nice way to end a busy day relaxing drinking tea listening to bob marley and having a smoke. the food was great every day there was something different sooooooo much to choose from (only 1 of us got ill during the holiday). just outside the resort there is a shopping area and a few restaurants and fast food chains (mcdonalds, kfc) if you fancied a change. its was nice to adventure out of the resort and have a look round the shops which are open really late they are literally opposite the resort. we would all highly reccomend this resort and cant believe some of the other reviews which say nothing but bad things about it honestly coudlnt fault anything had the best holiday ever and cant wait to go back there.

Comments:  My boyfriend and I stayed in the Laguna Vista resort for 1 week and found everything about it to be as good as we would have liked.

Our room was one of the separate apartments which was more private and was lovely. The room was cleaned every day, we were given fresh sheets, new shower gel, soap and tissue/toilet paper and the floors and sides were cleaned. The room included a big TV which had some Egyptian channels but also and very good movie channel in English along with cartoon network and animal planet. The room also had a fridge, huge wardrobe, balcony and a big en suite.

All staff we encountered with were SO helpful, friendly and did everything they could to meet our needs.

Water was given out bottled, sealed and cool. You could also order breakfast boxes with a selection of foods if you were going out on an early excursion which were very helpful to the both of us.

The buffet was fantastic! There was so much choice, from vegetables, meat, chips, kid’s foods, bread, salads, fish etc. The puddings consisted of fruit, mousse, local treats, and pastries/cakes. The staff in the restaurant were helpful and quick. It was never cramped or too busy in there either. I was however ill. I had tummy cramps and the dreaded D word. I think this was NOT due to the food but due to me using he tap water to brush my teeth and not thinking about closing my mouth tightly whist in the shower. I did have to buy tablets from a Pharmacy in Cairo, but I expected this to happen really as I tend to get ill when visiting different countries. It didn’t ruin my holiday though.

The swimming pool was great, although the main pool remained at the same level all the way through. We personally found the pool with the beautiful waterfall by it was better as it was slightly shallower, quieter and provided more shade. The beach that the hotel was on was stunning too. It was surprisingly quiet and was a great spot for snorkelling!! and we pay all mask and snorklin and shose for sea and teshert from shop out side hote on lastrada mall from shop a'one for every one its realy nice shop and the man he work inside name adam verey nice and he make big descond for us and we drenk nice tea and smok shesha if you look for good price and big descond goto this shop a'one for every one on lastrada mall

The excursions we went on were great. The prices were very good value for money and Moustafer our tour guide for one of the trips to Cairo we went on was brilliant! So clever and kept everyone happy and comfortable.

If I have anything negative to say about our holiday it would be Naama Bay. It was a taxi trip (which was provided for by the hotel, that was ever so slightly more pricey than the street taxis but worth it as the road taxi drivers are quite dodgy and are labelled "white knuckle riders") that lasted 20 mins and we got out and were greeted by someone who we thought was part of some organisation because he spoke near enough fluent English, but as it turned out wasn’t. To cut a long story short, he was deceitful in the way that he appeared to be helping us, he was flattering to myself, and tricked us very well into getting us into his shop and we couldn’t leave easily without paying his 450 Egyptian pounds (£45) for a load of stuff we didn’t want!! Such a disappointment. DO NOT go to Naama Bay if u are not one to be harassed by locals.

Be careful of the men to out there too. Although it’s in their culture to have up to 4 wives if they wish, I didn’t appreciate the men OUTSIDE of the hotel starring at me in the way they did.

All together a wonderful experience filled with boat trips, the pyramids, safaris and just plain chilling by the pool for my boyfriend and I who have many happy memories from there

Comments:  The Hotel looks very lovely in the foyer as u walk thru the unusual front door but thats where it ends!!!!! First night in the restaurant my sunglasses were stolen from our table, this was reported to Gemma, our Thomas Cook rep - nothing happened ! The private pool we paid extra for was very inviting until you actually went for a dip, when it became quite apparent that the fibreglass was thread bare leaving both my girlfriend & myself in some discomfort as we picked the strands of fibreglass from our arms and buttocks ! Again, this was reported to Gemma who wrote everything down - again nothing happened which meant that for the rest of the holiday half the pool was out of bounds unless we wanted further scratching & red marks on our bodies! Another english guest also had a private pool & the fibreglass was in such a poor state his foot almost went through the bottom ! The food was adequate, neither good nor bad but very boring as it was the same food morning, noon & night every day, some of the cakes had also gone stale. The fizzy drinks from the bars were served in small disposable plastic cups - not what you expect from a supposed five star hotel. No entertainment whatsoever... unless you were Italian, in which case you can have rave type music blaring out from dawn till well into the night by the main pool which seemed to be under Italian border control.
The beach has to be tried to be belived. Basically it is a man made beach running into the sea - in other words it has a concrete base covered with large gravel pretending to be sand, tough going on your feet at the best of times but find a patch where the 'sand' has gone & you will find yourself walking hand in hand across a building site ! We were encouraged by our Thomas Cook rep to 'go out & explore' the reef beyond the beach with the promise of much sea life that just had to be seen - what she forgot to mention was that in order to reach the wonders of the red sea you have to walk barefoot across exposed coral that cuts your feet to ribbons and when you finally give up on life half a mile out & try to return to the beach via the longer of the two jetty's you will be told by the gestapo guarding it that as it doesn't belong to the laguna vista hotel you will have to turn back & lose any hope of ever walking again by making the long journey back across the coral. Needless to say if you do want to explore the sea off the laguna vista hotels beach invest in some sea socks unless you want to spent the rest of your holiday nursing the cuts on your feet cursing the rep for not mentioning anything about it !
Trips organised by Thomas Cook.... As i write this, four days after the Arabian Nights trip into the desert i still have trouble moving my neck & have had no end of disturbed sleep caused by the backpain that is the most memorable part of this experience. You are told that it will be a romantic & moving experience as you are taken into the desert at night to gaze at the stars amongst the bedoiun settlers. The images that are conjured up as they take the money off you (up front of course) is of an nostalgic bedouin camp in the desert & Lawrence Olivier riding across the horizon to you. However, bedouin in egyptian means gypsy - and that is exactly what you get... a gypsy camp full of breeze block buildings, scrap & on the floor broken only by the odd camel .... however, even these seemed to have been replaced by the bedouins by worn out Isuzu pickups. So, illusions shattered you go behind the camp to the area of entertaiment for the night. Another car park. Boxed in by some old garden sheds you are invited to sit on the rugs ( which smell of urine) that cover the gravel & log back rests. When the back pain of being sat in hardcore & logs becomes too much you can opt for sitting on a cushion or two (which smells of urine) and soak up the atmosphere of being in a gypsy camp with a romantic candle placed in a cut up plastic water container. You are called to get your buffet style 3 course meal & what a delight that is, watching dirty plates being pulled out of black bin bags & food being left on open dishes in the desert so both yourself & the local insect life can enjoy the gourmet food on offer. Drinks are also freely available from the outdoor bar in dirty cracked plastic cups that look like they have been collected from the roadside. The reps also tell you not to wander off behind the rocks if you need the toilet as fully flushing toilets are on site. After being stood in the queue for this 'toilet' & watching the expressions of horror & disgust of the men coming out i wondered what toiletry treats were in store. I dont know which part of the home made toilet was meant to flush & i wasn't going to spend too long trying to work it out as the toilet was filthy - needless to say, with no flushing facilities things had already 'built up' by the time i went in.. completely unacceptable and unhygenic. The highlight of the night was the promised stargazing when the lights in the camp are turned off & you can look at the stars without light pollution. The lights in the camp were turned off & all of a sudden the Egyptian Grand Prix started outside the camp with engines revving & headlights running through the camp, not to mention the locals that decided that was the best time to start a very vocal debate amongst themselves. It sounded more like we were coming under attack than a peaceful night under the stars....... dont waste your time & money on this Thomas Cook trip if you have back problems or have an ability to somehow avoid stomach bugs brought on by the camel urine & poor hygene this trip offers. All this reported to our rep .... completely uninterested.
Back home now, four days of crippling back pain, sickness & diahorrea. Won't be going back !

Comments:  I went to this hotel with my boyfriend and his family at the end of may this year and what a fantastic time we had!! This hotel was very large with lots to do the pools were always clean. The food was brilliant with lots of variety from evening to evening. Barbcue outside wide variety of salad and sweets and feshly made food right in front of you. Fantastic! The staff were very friendly especially Ahmed who worked in thye resturaunt he was always happy to help and would save us a table for every meal as they was 8 of us that went. They rooms were cleaned every day and were very clean and great sizes the lazy river which was attached to the balcony was brilliant as you can go on it at any time of day but this is only for the rooms on the bottom floor. the surroundings of the hotel was beautiful with gardners out every day to keep it looking its best. i recommend this hotel to any one wanting to visit egypt as we would definetley go back !!!!

Comments:  Just returned from a 2 week break in Laguna Vista Beach resort. Prior to going I had read many of the reports on this site and was left feeling pretty anxious but had already booked and my friend really wanted to go- so off we went.

WOW! I had the BEST holiday I have ever, ever had!

On arrival at the airport we were greated by our Thomas Cook rep Jo who took our journey induced exhaustion into account and told us everything we needed to know and then left us to relax on the way to the hotel.

On arrival the hotel was gorgeous- that place is like a palace! Our room was beautiful and huge we had double beds, armchairs fridge the lot and still plenty of space. Within minutes our cases were at our door, delivered by the friendliest (but not over friendly!) bellboy ever.

Food in my opinion was amazing. I went to breakfast and counted 28 types of bread, how anyone can moan about lack of variety is beyond me. Everything was hot and well cooked. I have an incredibly sensitive stomach and guess what I managed a week without being ill and then got ill on a trip to Cairo! Yes, drinks on the all inclusive package have to be local brands but anyone who has done all inclusive before will be aware of this and it didn't bother us at all. Even cocktails were included (not usually the case I have found).

The staff couldn't have been more helpful and polite- if you respect them, they respect you and they will do anything for you, treating you like you're their only clients. Fantastic. The hotel was spotless and the cleaning staff were also ( you guessed it ) fantastic! Yes, there are pigeons in the lobby occasionally ( we saw six) but it's open plan and short of clipping the wings of every bird in Egypt it's unavoidable and we saw no mess at all!

Finally our Thomas Cook rep deserves a mention -Jo was a star and I'm already sorting going back to see her later in the year. She even lent me her socks to go quad biking... starting as a rep leaving as a friend, that's service!

Beaitiful beach, friendly staff, fantastic resort. GREAT holiday!

I would recommend anyone to go to Laguna and as far as the bad reports on here go- some people just have nothing better to complain about!

Comments:  We were contacted by Thomas Cook 9 days before departure telling us that our flight had a slight delay of 11hrs 55 mins.
It took 3 more days before we were contacted again and because we could not find a holiday replacement we accepted the holiday changes.
We then had another 2 hrs 30 min delay on flying out of Birmingham.
On arriving we were surprised how nice the hotel was.You stay in what looks like a African mud hut.
Each room hut a large bedroom consisting of either a double or 2 single beds, plenty of storage for clothes etc, free safe and large bathroom with walk in shower.
Food started to get a bit boring towards the end of the week,it was a different countries food each day but mostly consisted of salad, fish, veal chicken etc.
You could use the facilities at the sister accomodation across the road LAGUNA VISTA BEACH RESORT , but you could not get food or drinks unless you paid, which was a bit dissapointing.
All the staff were very friendly, the gardens were well kept and everywhere was very clean.

Comments:  Just got back from a fabulous week at The Laguna Vista Beach Resort. Not sure why many people on here are complaining as my husband and I found everything to be just as we would like. The weather was perfect (around 30c), staff wonderfully attentive, clean public areas, a room that was more like an apartment including a leather 3 piece suite! I think the Brits just like to complain for the sake of it!! Would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family and we would certainly return for further visits in the future.

Comments:  Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Laguna Vista Resort for one week and it was the best holiday we have ever had.

The weather was lovely, the staff couldn't do enough for you, the food was fantastic-plenty to choose from and plenty to do during the day and at night. The hotel was lovely, the rooms and the hotel itself were very clean and well maintained.

During our stay we didn't have any real problems with our stomachs, we just tried to eat what we were familiar with and to make sure you drink the bottled water that they provide.

We travelled into Naama Bay twice, once of an evening and once during the day. You do get pestered quite alot by the locals, wanting you to go into their shops, but just look the other way and just ignore them.

We booked two trips during our stay, one was to the Ras Mohammed National Park on a boat, it was truely fantastic, we went snorkelling and had a delicious lunch which was included in the price, we definitely recommend it. Our other trip we booked was quadbiking across the deserts which was great fun. Both trips were reasonably priced- well worth doing.

Me and Kev will definitely be going back to the Laguna Vista Resort , but for two weeks instead of one! :-)
