After visiting Alicante for the past 5 years and staying in a variety of Hotels, Melia, Gran Sol, Tryp, we thought we'd try the Spa Maris. I'd always liked the look of it.
On arrival the reception staff we very helpful and the room allocated looked over the pool and sea beyond. A good start. The reception staff told us the facilities at the spa were at our disposal so off we headed. Woops! What they didn’t tell us was that the staff at the spa insist you go back to the hotel and get a ticket, sign in at their reception, take a swim hat, robe and towel and don’t walk around with shoes, trainers or flip flops on.
My husband was given blue plastic bags to put over his sandals. Very fetching! Given that the terrace around the pool left your feet needing a good scrub, you really didn’t want to walk around bare foot. The spa staff were really quite rude. Unfortunately, everyone who tried to use the pool were treated in the same way. Decided not to have a beauty treatment!
Unfortunately, although the service at the actual hotel was very good, we have been put off staying here again and will stick with the Melia (next door) or the Gran Sol.
