Goya Hotel de Alicante

Just back from the Goya, very clean and quiet. Decor unremarkable but rooms have all the basics and the staff are friendly and helpful. Very generous with the cheap rosado in the bar! About fifteen minutes from the main action so it's peaceful. Main station is nearby so do try the train ride to Elche, the biggest palm tree plantation in the world. The Huerto del Cura is an exceptional collection of palms - most tranquil and inspiring. The Alicantians are fun and will happily tolerate attempts to speak Spanish.
