Just arrived back from what was supposed to be a fantastic family holiday in a 4 star hotel (this was what travel agent stated).
What we got was a massive shock.
Firstly the good points
1. The food was great and I have never been to a hotel with such a wide variety of food (black pudding for breakfast)
2. The variety of drink was good (Strongbow on draught, Baileys)
and this is why I give it a 2
The Bad Points far out weigh the good.
1. The pool area is not big enough for all the customers and if you have ever seen a Where's Wally book well this was as close as a real example you will ever see.
2. You were made to wait by the Chief of the Fun Police from 7.45am until 8.45am before you were allowed to go and collect a sun bed and place in your desired position. Having 4 kids and 2 of these 11 month old twins I needed 4 beds in a shaded area and this was hard work. You can see this mad rush for sun beds on You tube and it makes the Brits look bad but in reality it's the over zealous management who have no operational skills what so ever. All that it requires is better planning such as clean one area and allow people to use that side and then do the other areas in zones it's not exactly rocket science.
3. We were told we would be in a family room with 2 rooms but what we got was 1 room which was never family size. We had a single bed, then a cot, double bed, then cot and another single bed all in a row which looked like being in the barracks.
4. One of our cots had bars missing and was unsafe (1 of the twins thought he was Steve McQueen in the great escape).
5. All inclusive was being given a card with your photo on and made to que for 10 minutes to get served and only being served 2 drinks maximum. I asked for 2 beers and 2 bottles of water (to fill up bottles with juice for babies) but was told only 2 drinks at a time so I had to get the water first then que again for the beers. You also had to have your card on you to be able to be served as I found out when I swam across to the pool bar and once again qued but was told no card no drinks. I tried to explain I have just been swimming and didn't carry the card when swimming but got same response. 1 old lady was turned away from the terrace bar when asking for water and when I offered her my card I was sternly told NO.
6. The bar staff were rude and arrogant.
7. The cleaner broke the shower whilst cleaning the bath and never reported it leaving it to me to report hours later. A tap came off in my hand whilst washing and I had to turn the stop tap off.
8. Even though we were on the 3rd floor of this high rise hotel we had to wait at least half an hour to go down and the same to get back up.
9. We had to que for meal times for at least 10 minutes and had to wait another 10 for 2 high chairs.
10. There wasn't anywhere for our 11 month old twins to play and crawl as the kids club was for 4 years - 12 years. the only free space was on top of a pool table.
So if you require a Fantastic Family holiday do not expect it here no matter who tells you differently.
We have travelled to Lanzarotte, Benalmadina, Menorca, Fueteventura, Tunisia, Morroco and never been as dissapointed as we were with this place.

we paid a lot of money for this holiday and lots of things upset us about this hotel.... first thing was, i paid a adult price for my son to go on this holiday and when we get there they give him a child card which ment he wasn't aloud into the resturant on him own without an adult....... as an all exclusive hotel i thought we would be aloud what we wanted NO you are only aloud 2 drinks at one time with 5 members in my family 2 which were only 2 years old meant i spent my life standing up getting drinks or take everyone to the bar with me JOKE.... the bar staff were nothing but rude the intire time we were there, if you had a problem with anything they didn't want to help, the indoor and outdoor floors are so slippery every to seconds there was someone falling over, it rained whilst we were there and the roof leak in about 5 different places so we had to dodge buckets and towels all over the floor. whilst it rained they shut the kids games room because it got to busy ????? what were they meant to do ...... we also had no hot water a few days and was told that because everyone was taking showers around the same time its something that couldn't be helped ??????
a very rubbish 4 star hotel i would never go again

We are a family of 5 and our children are 8, 6, and 4 we went to Flamingo Oasis in Benidorm in April 2010, we arrived mid week and the weather was good, the hotel was full of other young families and pensioners, everything was so relaxing and the kids we're having a great time. UNTIL.... we went down to the pool on Friday morning and the hotel had been ambushed with stag and hen parties, the language was awful, it was 11 o'clock in the morning and people we're drunk and falling around, there was an incident where one stag party had a argument with another stag party, and someone got glassed in the face as look had it my children had gone to the kids club..... thank god!!
The next day we went around the pool...... all the party groups we're sleeping off there hangovers!!
As i was laying on my sun lounger something came flying down from 1 off the balconies above and miss my face, it was a blood stained mans tshirt it frighten the life out of me and other people that we're nearby.
Every1 was complaining to the management about different ordeals that they had witnessed, but it just seem to fall on deaf ears, we even complained to Thomsons and they just said that they could not control parties that book over the internet.
Its a shame really because the holiday was lovely before that awful weekend!!!!

I've read the other reviews and I see people complaining about the food. I'd love to know where these people normally eat because I thought the quality and selection was excellent.
The entertainment was great too! The animacion team were young and full of enthusiasm and they put on some great shows.
Very clean throughout. A very pleasant holiday.
If I were to say anything negative it would be that I disagree with the Bar charging for soft drinks after midnight. Alcohol yes to discourage excessive drinking and rowdiness but a bottle of water to take to your room? No, I sorry they got that one wrong.
The acid test is, would I go back there. Yes, absolutley and I would recommend it.

We spent Xmas and New Year 2009 At the supposedly 4Star Flamingo Oasis, all inclusive .We being my wife, self,Daughter, son in law and their two children both toddlers under 3 years old.We were approached on arrival by an old gent who greeted us with the words``Welcome to `` S**T city`` .We laughed this off but soon came to rue his words for whithin Two day myself ,Daughter, her husband and both our grandchildren had all fallen violently ill with `` THE BUG ``.We reported this to the Thomson Rep who informed us it was not the fault of the Hotel inffering we had probally ``Caught `` it whilste eating or drinking outside of the hotel. The trouble was none of us had set foot out of the hotel prior to falling ill because of poor weather ( rain ).we were also told the ``Bug`` only lasted about 24 to 48 hours Wrong more like 5 to 6 days of hell. Our bathroom from day one had a smell of sewage whenever a tap was turned on,or cistern flushed ( i wonder !! ).The all inclusive deal of locally produced beers and Spirits/Wines sounds good untill you realise you would need enough of the brandy etc to sink a battleship to even get tippsy, I found the wine to be the only beverage that didnt taste of water, when it was infact the one that needed water added to drink.(could be bought in local supermarkets for about 60cents a bottle) .The main reason we booked this hotel was because of the travel agents recomendation that it was a superb family hotel perfect for children. She forgot to add the proviso that the children be over 6 years old.Be warned there is Nothing for Toddlers to do at this hotel and not even anyware safe for them to play or run and if found playing with a small ball it will swiftly be taken off them and binned by management. This Happened, remember they are both uner 3 years not rowdy teenagers. To the food same old same old best fits with very little to tempt Paying toddlers (nearly £600) Gala meals Joke as we were on First serving we were rushed both christmas and New year so second sitting could allso serve themselves to raw Beef Tornadoes etc.Snacks consist of whats left from main meals and can only be eaten in the restaurant i allmost forgot the odd plate of biscuits put on the bar.For anyone over the age of 6 this Hotel is an average 3 yes three star grade hotel not 4Star as stated if under 6 years it is probally closer to 1 yes one Star in my oppinion.we have Stayed in many Hotels in Benidorm over the past 30 years and although not the worst comes very close Its only saving graces being its hardworking staff (not management) Entertainment crew for the over 6`s and the size of rooms.

stayed here from 20-10-09 to 31-10-09 segrigation is rife in this hotel the "CLUB MEMBERS"
have an area in the restruant screend off so they don't have to eat with the rest of the guest's in the hotel, they have there cutlrey polished we didn,t they have sole use of the roof top pool and bar we didn't.
if you hire a mobility scooter other than the on they recomend then they charge you 3 euro's a day for electricity.the beer is flat and tastless the foods not to bad but could be better.
entertanment was rubish mostly for the kids, not a lot to do in this hotel but to go out
to other bars to get entertaind

We've just arrived back yesterday and we had a good time. The best part was the evening entertainment, really enjoyed El Divo and the hotel staff shows like Grease, Mamma Mia and Musical Medley. Same guys do the daytime games as well.
The food was good somedays, and other days not so good. You could see all the fat on the meat dishes. I know they like to put a good choice of dishes out, but when we saw a slice of toast with a pineapple ring in the middle covered by melted cheese this didn't appeal to us at all. And as for the breakfasts, next to the eggs, bacon and sausages were trays of sweetcorn, cauliflower and carrots. We were told that the original chef had just left the Flamingo Oasis to go and work at the Flamingo Benidorm. Let's hope the new chef offers better choices soon.
The rooms were great, very spacious and clean, great size bathroom. My advice for future guests is to pull the telephones out at bedtime, there is one in the room and one next to the toilet. The first two nights of our holiday someone was ringing our extension around 3am and then they would hang up. So I just pulled them out of the socket.
The pool looks great, but no sun on it until about 3.30pm every day. Plenty of sunbeds piled up because everyone went to the beach. Poolside bar closed so had to walk up the many steps to the only bar open during the day, dress code at this bar as well, you had to wear t-shirts and footwear, definately not wet straight from pool.
My daughter said it was the best holiday she'd ever had. She met up with other kids and they hung out in the games room every evening. We only saw her at mealtimes, bedtimes or when she wanted some euros for the machines.
Apart from these issues it was a good holiday, even though the weather was poor until our last day. And yes it does need a bit or refurbishment, but this does not not spoil your enjoyment of the hotel.

I stayed at his hotel from 12/09/2009 to 26/09/2009 with friends and there family and children. The hotel was good for children and the entertainment staff were brill but as for everything else it was terrible.
Brocken mirrors in the wardrobe, rust round bath. furniture seen better days.
The pool bar was closed after first week and when guests complained we were advised end of season there was nothing in any brochure or internet sight that said any of this. and there winter season does not start until nov,
The food in the restaurant was always just warm unless you were there for the food just being put out and it was very repetative. The bar staff were not friendly what so ever.
The rooftop pool which was advertised as being available to adults only is now only available to gold club guests. chairs and beds at pool area are needing replaced as a lot of them are broken.
The pool is only cleaned with a small net and we did not see anyone doing water tests on pool. would not recommend this as 4star as i have been to better 3star costs an arm and a leg. definately not worth the money.

just back, found hotel good for the kids but the early morning fight for a sun lounger is a joke,if you aint in the queue by 8.15 youve no chance, pool staff are a joke entertainment staff work very hard and put on good shows, waiting staff rude ,food okay but chips and sweetcorn for breakfast, your having a laugh, selection okay but the new cards for all inclusive are a pain,as are some of the poolside rules ,wouldnt go there again, mainly because of the carry on regards sunbeds ,hated the early morning rise but you needed to for the kids sake.kids club and staff of thompsons were very good.
