" Amazing Holiday! "
Submitted By: sherbet1The food in both the pool bar and the main restaurant buffet area is gorgeous with things to have at lunch like toasted sandwiches, burgers etc to then being in the restaurant at night and having so much choice every day. The show cooking is fabulous and they will make fresh eggs, omlettes (with lots off different fillings) if you so wish in the mornings to then doing all different kinds of meat at night. Never got bored of what was on offer to eat and at some points my eyes were bigger than my stomach as i could not get enough of the different desserts on offer!
The hotel is located perfectly with the sea directly in front of the hotel and the beach in front of the hotel is beautiful and has lots of little bars and restaurants on it which are all really nice.
The beach which was my favourite was the maspalomas beach where many sand dunes are found and the sand and sea were also really nice.
We went into Playa d'Ingles for a night which I thought was great-really good vibe and even though a party place and full of nightclubs and pubs it was really clean and no brawls in the streets! The only thing which was a bit of a nightmare was the touts trying to get you into the pubs etc but we just said no and they left us alone.
The prices of taxi fares are really good with it costing about 3 euros to go to Maspalomas Beach and 5 Euros to get into Playa d'Ingles.
The rooms are huge and the bed is also huge and really comfortable, the maids come and change your sheets and towels everyday which was really good.
In every possible way this hotel caters for all needs and it is the best hotel that I have stayed in and I would definitely go back again for another fabulous relaxing holiday!
Advice: Upmarket, clean, beautiful part of Gran Canaria!

The Hotel location is away from the main bar/restaurant area, but it's only a 15 min walk and you are in the thick of it. Personally we preffered the seclusion and ability to pick & choose when we went to the lively end of the resort. Taxi's are very good value - about 5 euro's to the very lively Playa Del Ingles - pubs, clubs etc. and taxi's are v.easy to get.
One word of caution, we booked the so called "VIP" island tour (via Cosmos) supposed to be an executive minibus tour guide Island tour & lunch included. It was actually 7 minibuses, not really executive but o.k. and each buse had a CB radio with the tour guide in the lead bus with a microphone!... 7 buses on the road - looks like we got us a convoy! The worst part was the lunch, totally unedible and the cost was 59 euros each - beware...
But this review is about the hotel which we highly recommend & hope to go back to sometime in the future..
Oh nearly forgot, it was my birthday during our stay, and the hotel "sneaked" champaigne and a note into our room whilst we were out. They must have seen my dob on the passport - that's the kind of attention to detail you can expect.

Submitted By: Miss A L RutherfordThe staff were friendly and efficient, we had a problem with the plug in our bath and after a phone call someone came to fix it immediately. We cannot fault the maids who left our room immaculate each day; we were even left a complimentary fruit basket and wine.
The buffet style breakfast and dinner offered an excellent selection, each day themed. The freshly squeezed orange juice you can get in the morning is particularly good when you think how much you pay for a small glass at home, however what you do pay a lot for here is water unless you go to buy your own from Maspolomas town (10 min walk) or the gym in the Wellness Centre. A bottle of water in the dining hall costs 3 euros, the gym also costs 3 euros but you can drink all the water you want from the dispenser here and use the facilities which are fantastic. It costs extra to use the Wellness pool, sauna, steam room, ice room etc. but is well worth it after a heavy night out for instance!
This 'heavy night' or pub crawl we went on in Playa de Ingles was organised through First Choice, as was the camel ride, market visit and boat trip. It's definately worth going to the welcome meeting as you will be told about all these events which we thought were really good value and offered something for everyone, although it's cheaper to make your own way to the Water Park by taxi. The beach we were recommended to visit over in Puerto Rico called Amadores was gorgeous, if you get the chance it is well worth a visit, if not then for the watersports- the taxis really are cheap and frequent.
Whether you want to relax in the tranquil surroundings or go out and have some fun there is something for everyone here, couples or families alike! It definately deserves its 5*.

Submitted By: Mrs TM CORRIGANLovely staff, lovely place, a place to relax. Stunning views.
A must is the wine bar down at the beach it is built up quite high above the shopping mall. We have fond memories just looking over the sea with a large glass of red wine. bliss.
Will most defiantly be visiting again soon.

Submitted By: Miss C WalkerThe hotel itself was beautiful, alot of stairs though, I would recommend this hotel at this time of year if you want a quite break, and it began to get busy just before we left.
All of the staff were very friendly and eager to please.
We had a wonderful time and I would like to go back for our 5th Anniversary, and I am sure that if we do we will be looked after as well as we were on our honeymoon.

Submitted By: Mr Alan JayeThe rooms too were very clean, well appointed and spacious although ours was about a 5 minute walk from reception. Good sized balcony and bathroom area. All air conditioned.
Plenty of room for sun bathing and swimming and for the kids to play in. There was a Wellness centre offering a gym and treatments, tennis and sports courts and no lack of facilities all meticulously clean.
The hotel was situated in a quiet location about 5 minutes walk from the sea and a small beach and to a new shopping centre which is not open yet. I would think that in a year or so this area will become a lot more popular and busy. There is a new golf course just a short way from the hotel and the main shopping centre of Faro and Maspalomas are only about 30 minutes stroll away.
Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and in the hotel itself. They could do with a waiter service by the pool although this might be available in high season.
The main restaurant was the most disappointing feature for us. The food was 'plentiful' but we found it hard to identify due to a lack of decent labeling, not particularly warm, repetitive and a little bland. There was a definite shortage of staff and we mostly had to find our way to a vacant and clean table. We also had to sometimes ask for clean crockery and cutlery and the staff were slow to refill some of the more popular dishes. There was another restaurant in the hotel serving meals Ala carte at additional cost but we didn't fancy the choice and it wasn't cheap. We found we rarely ate anything at the same time as one of us was off searching for the butter whilst the other, looking for a soup spoon.
All in all though we would have no hesitation recommending this hotel. We certainly did not starve and we had an enjoyable relaxing holiday in clean, beautiful surroundings. The evening entertainment was more than adequate and the Animation Team worked tirelessly to entertain people of all ages.

Submitted By: Mrs A McIntosh<br>The evening entertainment programme was ok, but not as good as some other 4* & 5* hotels we has visited. A 10min walk along the seafront takes you to Maspalomas where you will find some reasonable shops. Overall I would highly recommend as a relaxing, well catered for all ages holiday and we would certainly visit again.

Submitted By: Mr C CarlinStaff are excellent and the food is very good (buffet for half board or a la carte for payment).Several swimming pools and facilities for kids .
It is a large hotel spread over a lot of ground with facilities to match. Bars and restaurants are a 100 metres away on the beach front or you can go to Faro which hosts a shopping centre as well as restaurants and bars 20 minutes walking distance along a promenade. Highly recommended.

Submitted By: Ms L J WhittleHowever; the dining facilities (a buffet style breakfast and dinner) were over-crowded, busy and stressful. A good selection of food was available, although catering mainly to meat eaters, the vegetarian selection a little poor. Some food was frequently over-cooked, and a quantity rather than quality approach was taken, popular items being consumed very quickly and some guests were waiting around for the items to be replenished. The waiters were overstretched and too busy, to provide a 5* service; The constant clanging and banging and bustling going on whilst guests “try” to relax over meals was not in keeping with the rest of the hotels relaxing traits.
Overall a good hotel, but let down a little by the dining facilities.
