The hotel was very nice with a 3 star rating. Facilities included an outdoor pool and gym. Breakfast was an all you can buffet and evening meals were also available although we chose to eat out.
We went into town by taxi every day but we were told a bus was available. There were lots to see in the region and we visited two chateaux in the St Emillion region where we were able to taste wine.
Our trip was during the wine festival where a glass with holder and voucher booklet were available for 12 euros which was great value for money and we were unable to use all the vouchers. I would definitely return to Bordeaux but probably in a hotel closer to the festival.

We were only in Bordeaux overnight for the rugby and were not expecting anything too fancy especially as it was only 3 stars, but as it was close to the airport, it seemed ok.
It all started badly when we turned up at 4.00pm and our room had not been cleaned since the previous user. This we were assured would be done by the time we returned from the match.
Then the safe in the room was not operating correctly and it took the concierge about 15 minutes to get it working. By this time, the taxi we had booked had been and gone and we had to wait another 20 minutes for another.
On our return in the early hours, we found the room door had not been locked and was ajar and one of the windows was open. We feared the worst but luckily nothing was missing. It would seem that the cleaners were responsible.
The staff were very apologetic and we negotiated a discount with the manager which was acceptable. I'd like to think this was a one off.
Apart from that, the room was fine [when cleaned] and the bathroom was pretty good, nice shower! Bar was a bit pricey, 5 Euros for a half a lager, then this is France. Nice touch with the shuttle bus to the airport, when we enquired when it would be leaving, the girl from behind the desk jumped up and drove us herself.
It was a shame about the few mishaps we had because otherwise it seemed a nice place and good value for money.
