Cosmi Apartments

been going to cosmi apartments for the last 10 years cosmi is the best place to stay in gouves very clean and friendly nikos is very funny can,t wait to go back in june09.
i have stayed in other apartments in gouves but cosmi is the best.the best place to eat is the liminaki about 10mins walk from cosmi.love the beaches.

Oh dear, i think that our room was used as a storage cupboard unless needed otherwise. There was one door and a window as big as an arrow slit, it was stifling and no option other than to purchase air con. The fridge badly needed defrosting and the freezer box didn't have a door. There wasn't any ventilation in the bathroom, which had someone elses toothpaste marks on the taps when we arrived. The drain cover was caked in hair (not mine), muck and mop bits. The loo brush was dirty and needed replacing, the sliding door which hid more dirt when closed, was warped. It was grotty. I think the owner struggled to maintain the chemical levels in the pool and the pool shower was turned off, however i did find the tap to turn it on. People were moving from sunbed to pool all creamed up and sweaty without taking a shower first, ummmm nice thank you.
The appartments and pool could have been super but they do require much more maintenance than they enjoyed, it would take really easy measure to improve things. Yeah Nickos was okay but he really wasn't interested if you were happy or not. I have holidayed in Greece for many years and I love how basic the accommodation is and the easy living. I'm sorry Cosmi there is basic and unacceptable. It could have so easily have been so much better!

My partner and I stayed at the Cosmi apartments during the XL fiasco and found Nicos, his son, and the staff, to be completey helpful, very understanding, and very friendly. The apartments were clean and comfortable. The pool area was excellent and the size was sufficient for the number of guests. Even the Sheffield United fan was friendly. As a satisfied West Ham United fan, I hope to stay there next year. Thank you.

Gouves is a lovely spot, quite spread out. The cosmi apts are quite basic, on first glance we were well pleased. But as the week went on we became less happy, in that our toilet basket was only emptied on two occasions by the maid, and the appartment was mopped, again on two occasions. The word mopped is misleading as the maid did not brush the floor at all and when she did mop she merely moved the shingle, sand, grit from the beach around the appartment to a different spot. If you stay at these appartments have a look under your bed to see how dirty it is.
We were quite happy here, until we went out and left our air conditioning on, only to come back to find that someone had been in our appartment and turned off the air conditioning by turning off the electric, which also turned off the fridge, hence ruining what ever food was in the fridge, dunno if the maid did this, as there was no other evidence of her being in the appartment on that day. Would not go back to the cosmi, far too basic and too far from Gouves centre. But would definately go back to Gouves.

Gouves is a lovely small resort with some lovely cafe's, bars and restaurants some with great views over the sea and wonderful sunsets. Cosmi apts are kept very clean but the owner can be somewhat grumpy and difficult unless you spend plenty of money on his air conditioning, safe key, bar etc! We found him very unhelpful when it came to leaving our cases for several hours before our flight as he insisted on us leaving our two cases at the bottom of the stairs in the stairwell! Gouves has quite a few derelict buildings and empty supermarkets which is a great pity.

This was our first visit to Crete. We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at the Cosmi apts. We had a one bedroomed apt as did our daughter and family. The rooms were kept spotlessly clean, and the bedding and towels were changed every 3rd day.
We found Nikos to be okay but maybe that was because we had an 18 month old with us!
The pool was spotless but it did go to nine feet deep.
The snack bar only sold ice-cream apart from drinks. Nikos seemed to close the bar at whatever time he chose at night. It was worth buying a supply of drinks from the supermarket (at the end of the lane) to have in the fridge.
Our favourite eating places were Limanaki (super breakfast), Da Vinci Code, Filoxenia, Kellys Garden and Philipos.
The downfall of the holiday was the travel company Libra. The flight was changed twice from the original booking. The second time being when we received our tickets. The flight was with Air Malta and no food service was available apart from buying sandwiches.
On arrival in Crete at 2.00am we were just directed to our transfer bus with details of our room numbers. There was no Rep on board the bus and we had to rely on the driver pointing out the apts. We then had to find our own rooms.
On departure we never saw a rep from being picked up at the apts to getting on the plane.
We would definately go back to the Cosmi Apts but never travel with Libra again.

Stayed there for a week early June. Was a little apprehensive after reading previous comments about Nikos, we found him to be friendly, especially if you spent some money in his bar. He is quite eccentric but don't take him to seriously. Rooms basic but clean, pool and pool area spotless, would be better if he served food at pool bar. Based in a nice part of resort and some good tavernas close by.

Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful holiday in Gouves.
The pool was very good and we spent a lot of time in there.
Now about the host Nikos; this guy wasn't kind at all!!! I had an argument with him because he accused me of stealing toilet paper and sent me to the supermarket to buy some!!! That's pathetic!!! I think that each room should be supplied with toilet paper.
Bar was closed almost at all times so how could I buy a drink?!
Bathroom was disgusting!!! I wouldn't recommend the Cosmi Apartments to anyone!!!
Gouves beautiful, Cosmi terrible!!!

We have just returned from 2 weeks at Cosmi. Our host, Nikos, was extremely helpful in all matters while we were there and very witty.
Our apartments were kept spotless and we had towels and sheets changed every 2 days.
There are a lot of beautiful tavernas round about for good, reasonably priced food, although Nikos did order us deliveries of Chinese and Gyros pitas to be delivered to the apartments for a number of guests.
We had a crowd of guests made the trip to Water city on the same day and we had a ball.
All in all, I would recommend the Cosmi and will definitely be going back!!

My partner and I stayed here this year and had a fantastic time! This is my second time at the apartments and I can't wait to go again. The apartments are frequently cleaned, bins emptied and linen/towels are changed regularly.
The pool and bar area are also spotless. The bar provides hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and ice creams all of which are very nice. Nikos is a good host and we enjoyed his company.
We ate out at Philipos (down the road), Liminaki and Da Vinci Code all of which I would highly recommend as excellent providers of food and value for money.
