This is the second time I have stayed in the area , the last being 6 years ago. Despite the continual 'building-site' environment of the surrounding area, they will probbably stop building when they reach Ronda !!!, I found the Grangefield Oasis Club to be very quiet and... more

Went here with my partner as a break from respective kids, and as my Father had a villa here from early 70s to early 90s and it was always nice and quiet. It did say you need a car to enjoy the area - but it is now so built up that many places, including where we stayed,... more

Miles from Anywhere
To start with the positives, the resort in itself is good with good facilities, pool, restaurant etc. being good and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. There is a fair mix of nationalities and it is very popular with the Spanish themselves. If you just want an away from it all hotel to lie by the pool it would be great and it also has an indoor heated pool and Spa facilities. It is not Gold Crown standard overall whatever their claim. If you like entertainment, the on site offering is poor, there is nothing within walking... more
Great if you want a sunbathing by the pool holiday
I was lucky enough to win this holiday so went there with pretty much no expectations at all, as anything would be a bonus! It's not my normal sort of trip. I'm usually one for exploring and staying just a couple of days in one place, so any negatives I might have may well be positives for others. I was a bit confused as to whether I was going to Grangefield Oasis or Oasis Club, as after having had a good look on-line, both seemed to exist, and one was 4 star, the other 5 star. However, by the time we arrived I had decided it was one... more
Nice quiet resort
Just returned from a week at the Grangefield Oasis, we only paid £200 for a week so was expecting very basic accomodation etc. but was pleasantly surprised by our 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom apartment complete with living/dining room, kitchen with all accessories, washing machine & as our apartment was a corner plot we had a large fairly private garden to relax in, the garden had table/chairs, sun lounger & 3 seat swing/chair - on our first day we arrived at 9pm so by the time we found apartment etc. we went down to the restaurant to find we... more
if you dont like driving abraod, dont stay at the Grangefield
We stayed during the May half term, booked through a "promotional "week with the points holiday club. I drive rather alot for business , so dont really want to drive on hoilday. Now I know its 55 Euros each way between Malaga airport to the Grangefield, it is cheaper to hire a car just for that journey. 40 euros rtn to Fuengerola, 60 euros rtn to both P.Banus and Belamadena, i feel as though I should now have shares in a spainish taxi co.!!The resort is 35 min walk to the beach and nearest bars/restaurants( more taxis!) The... more
Disappointing in Costa Mijas
This resort is OK but it is not close to any bars or restaurants and to get to the beach you will need a car. The complex is small and the poolside bar is now the only place to eat as they have closed the main restaurant entirely - meals are OK but limited in the poolside bar, however. Being built on a hill there are steps everywhere and this complex and surrounding area are not suitable for infirm or disabled people. Although we had swapped a large Gold Crown appartment in Florida for a week here we were very disappointed: the... more
Relaxing time at the Oasis
I booked the Grangefield Oasis Club at the last minute via my RCI club membership and was pleasantly surprised. The apartment was spacious, clean and well maintained. The pool area was a nice area to relax around, however the pool was cold and in my opinion was not cleaned regularly enough. The communal areas were in need of some repair and a few tiles on steps and in walkways were chipped which could have caused a nasty accident. Also the tiled areas between apartments didn't appear to get the same attention with regards to... more
peace and quiet
We have just returned after a week at the grangefield oasis and i have to say we had a great time.Finding the place is easy provided you don't make the mistake i did and take the first miraflores turning you see, carry on to the next turning, look for the opencor supermarket, you can't miss it its blue in colour.Follow the road up the hill and look for the signpost for the complex. Checking in was quick and easy though there were not many people about at the time. The appartment itself was a little small but nice and clean and it had... more
Don't waste your time
We stayed there in March 2007 for a week. Found the hotel staff unhelpful bordering on rude (asked where we could find real Spainish food locally and were were RUDELY told "YOU ARE IN A TOURIST AREA"), the distance to anything worthwhile ridiculous (even 4k to the road/ bus, 20 min form there to first nice beach!) , and the food abominable. Breakfast consisted of cold bread, stale croissants, old ham, and a few slices of cheese (hello- spain- where is the fruit!!!???) 55€ to AND 55€ from the airport with no other option given. We... more
A great base
we came here on a free trip as compensation for a poor holiday at another resort, so expectations were reasonably high. Arrangements for transfer from the airport worked well, but were disappointed that they were unable to arrange a return (only taxis available at an extortionate rate), so we hired a car. At the third try, we got a car that worked! having said that the resort as a whole was well maintained, we couldn't fault the restaurant, with a varied table d'hote menu (a la carte was available). Breakfasts were always well... more
General observations
A car is definately needed as it is about a mile from the busses and bars. Hotel is very clean and tidy, the accomodation fittings and equipment are in very good condition and more than sufficient for need. Accomodation is good, clean and comfortable. The poolside bar is very good with a good range of snacks. Pools (2 plus one inside) excellent. Main Bar area too small. Pricing at the bar seemed to vary although the same round of drinks were being bought. Reception staff could be a bit more helpful with... more
