" This is the second time I have stayed... "

This is the second time I have stayed in the area , the last being 6 years ago. Despite the continual 'building-site' environment of the surrounding area, they will probbably stop building when they reach Ronda !!!, I found the Grangefield Oasis Club to be very quiet and spacious. Certainly you do need a car to take advantage of all that is available in the area. Being self-catering I also found the accomodation to be above average in that a full kitchen was provided. One word is that the site is build on the side of a hillside like many others and there are numerous steps to be encounterd , perhaps not for those who have difficulty with steps. There was a good balance of clientele from the 'retired' groups through middle-aged to young family groups, however the atmosphere of the place meant that everyone enjoyed themselves. The RCI rating this resort has certainly proved correct. I am planning to return to this resort in the future and am recommending also to friends.

" Went here with my partner as a break... "

Went here with my partner as a break from respective kids, and as my Father had a villa here from early 70s to early 90s and it was always nice and quiet. It did say you need a car to enjoy the area - but it is now so built up that many places, including where we stayed, you need a car just to go out to eat and drink, which is not much fun for the driver. This area is being ruined by so many buildings.

We also hated the fact that everywhere obvious was an English bar selling typical English food. You need to look to find good fresh fish.

That said, the beach opposite (which was not recommended - resort sends people a few miles away to Cabo Pina) was quiet and clean with a nice little bar with fresh shower available. Above this, which was not obvious from the road, was Max's Beach restaurant, which was the only one we found overlooking the beach, and where the food and service was brilliant.

We also liked the restaurants around Cabo Pina marina, especially Albert's (again outstanding) - British run, but real Spanish food.

Overall, if you go in this area be very aware of how far your resort is from the sea and restaurants. Personally, I won't return.

Moral of the story :- Never go back, memories are easily ruined!
