Stayed here in a 1 bed Suite with Husband and my Sister had a separate Suite.
Overall we found it acceptable for 4 star, not over priced as some say. We found the bar to be a bit soulless and found that drinking on the terrace overlooking the pool was fine for us as we all enjoy our own company. The queue at the bar was slow more than long.
The air con wasnt the best we've ever had but fine for beginning of Sept, July/August might have been a bit tricky.
Food was plentiful and enjoyable, and yes if you stay over a week like any place, it will become repetitive.
The beds were firm but comfortable. Large Bathroom and hot water needed a 5 minute run before comign, a smallish living area but ok. They'd taken the bridge off the jacuzzi for 'major renovations' and it never returned during our trip..so what you say...bid deal if you dont swim!! Wasnt the end of the world but would have been nice to try!
LOCATION: is remote but his shouldnt come as a surprise, but we like the peace but weather dependant, its a lovely walk to the beach via the 'dry river bed' they also have the courtesy bus available free if you like.
COCKROACHES : Quite a few cockroaches about. considering this was our 10th trip to various places in Maspalomas, it was the worst for roaches, due to the lovely lush vegetation, but if you dont like them, you wont like it here....my Sister was traumatised! And in the end she had me convinced that I'd wake up with them in the bed with me too...and every night the towel went down under th front door and slept with an empty glass beside the bed to catch them. The cleaners were good, they noticed my little notes with RIP and a cross on IT...meaning 'dead, now bury me please'.
Bless. Overall worth a try.

We found the hotel to be lovely, the rooms were kept clean and the landscaped gardens were well maintained.
Having read reports before we went about the food, I was a little concerned, but there was nothing to worry about. The food was varied and there was lots of it. There was no rushing to grab things as they continually brought out new food. There was something for everyone, my only gripe was there wasnt baked beans everyday, but apart from that there was nothing else to complain about. The food was hot which suprised me as it was a buffet. There are swimming pools dotted around the complex, so there is always somewhere for you to sit, and you can also sit outside your apartments.
We would definately go back there, my two boys loved it.

This hotel is vastly overpriced. We paid £1033 for a week in a one-bedroom suite including half board. It's a four star hotel and at that price we were expecting to be pampered. The hotel did not live up to our expectations.
The good points:
- pleasant swimming pools, including a small heated outdoor pool, toddler pool and an outdoor Jacuzzi, plenty of sun loungers
- bungalow layout, with gardens and lots of cacti along the walkways
- children's playground
The bad points:
- there are two dinner sittings, at 6pm and 8pm. We have a toddler and baby so we wanted to have dinner at the 6pm sitting, but were told that this was fully booked up for most of our stay. (Bear in mind that we had already paid for half board.) We therefore had to pay to have dinner elsewhere.
- there is no room service. Some of the suites have self-catering facilities (presumably at extra cost), but our suite did not even have a kettle.
- they didn't provide a pillow or blanket for our daughter's bed. When we asked for a pillow and blanket for her, all that they did was move my husband's pillow onto my daughter's bed!
- no clock in the room
- cable TV doesn't include any English channels
- the service in the restaurant was poor - it was hard to get staff attention and often they didn't offer drinks etc.
- the bars didn't have any ice
- potentially dangerous rails on balcony near hotel reception, which a toddler could fall through
- massages are supposed to be available at the hotel, but we couldn't take advantage because they were fully booked for the duration of our stay
- most of the other guests smoked like chimneys
Some of these are minor annoyances that we would have tolerated if we hadn't paid so much, but having paid over £1000 for a week we were expecting better.

We booked the holiday only a few weeks before we were about to go on medhotels.com, so we got it at a good rate. Right from the start of the holiday we were really impressed with the hotel - it is typical 4* hotel - the facilities were brilliant! The rooms were huge, as there was only 2 of us - a living room - bedroom and big bathroom.
There was so much to do over there - every day there is lots of activities for children and adults - and everyone enjoys joining in with the club dance!
The food in the hotel was outstanding - although we only ate in the hotel a couple of times as the restaurants around Gran Canaria were delicious. For breakfast in the hotel there is everything - champagne and about ten different varieties of cakes!
Maspalomas on a whole was great - we would really recommend the camel riding trip and going to the aqua park!
The shopping centres are also worth going to - the perfume and make up is really cheap over there especially lancome juicy tubes!
Overall, we had a brilliant time and we will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future! We would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Very nice Hotel. Closest hotel to the beach in Maspalomas that is not a 5 star and v expensive. Food was good, but the sweets were "German" style: they all looked lovely but all tasted of artificial cream and blamange. Lovely pool area - very clean.
Take some mosquito repellent though as the Hotel is opposite a nature reserve (which I presume must have swampy area in due to the mosquitoes at night).
Nice walk to the beach - look out the lizards (the kids love to watch these) and the camels!
All-in-all highly recommended.

We arrived at the Dunas Suite Hotel after a 4hour flight, only to be told we didnt have a suite (which we had booked two months earlier)We were asked if we would mind going to a nearby hotel which was at least a 15minute drive from Dunas, if we didnt like it we could return to the Dunas the next morning. After looking at the hotel room(which was on the fifth floor of a high rise hotel)we decided to return to the Dunas straight away in a taxi paid by us.The receptionist wasnt very helpful and put us into a damp self catering bungalow and said we could change to a suite later in the week, which we did. The suite was beautiful and clean and comfotable. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and the staff work extremely hard. The food was varied and delicious, the only thing is it could have been hotter! we took our own travel kettle and mugs as none are provided. we would go back again as we had a lovely time once a few problems were ironed out.
