This hotel is no way a 4star, iv stayed in better 3star accomodation. There was hardly any hot water after 6pm and the whole apartment had a horrid musty smell. The floors were dusty with clumps of hair and pubic in the corners. The kitchenette was far too basic, no tin... more

We visited this hotel in February and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Kid's Club is great, and the staff in the club are fantastic. The hotel itself is clean and the staff are pleasant. The food is ok, plenty of variety when you first arrive, but it becomes tiresome... more

We booked this as we thought being associated with Riu it would be topclass. Big mistake. The only thing topclass about it was the price, £1230 for one week in a cold, damp, basic bungalow with warm water from the shower only after you ran it for 15 mins, and no private... more

We asked for an upgrade and paid extra £300 from an appartment to a bungalow. my advice is stay with std accommodation as this is very good value for money the bungalow for 2 adults and child of 13 years paying nearly 1800 for 1 week HB was very expensive. Truely could not... more

Best hotel ever!!
I absolutely enjoyed both my stays at the Riu Adeje as i stayed last year as well. I stayed for 2 weeks this time and i didn't want to return home! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The room was very modern and it was cleaned every day. It is in the middle of 2 shopping centres so there was plenty of shops to choose from.It was about a 10-15 minute walk to the beach from the hotel which lead to aload of shops and restaurants. There was also entertainment every night which was excellent and the bar staff are very funny and ace.I definitely want to go back next year!
Fantastic, well recommended
This hotel was fantastic and well worth a visit again. It was clean, had really friendly and helpful staff and set out beautifully. The only grief we had was off other holiday makers! Me and my friend stayed here for a week in March '05, and although we fancied a good booze-up in the clubs at night, we really wanted somewhere quiet to relax and eaze off our hangovers during the day! We were more than happy to take a taxi to the Veronicas (about 8-10 euros), yet the looks from other holidayers while waiting for a taxi outside the hotel was definitely one of "you don't belong here..." ha! Other than that great hotel - the room was big, the bedroom fantastic with huge full length mirrors, bedding changed daily, as were the towels. Pool was perfect, and waiters always around to bring you cocktails to your sunlounger. Perfection!
so enjoyable and relaxing
were going back for the 5th time in november to the riu the staff are so friendly and helpfull......clean rooms .....excellent resteraunt......bars close by and location perfect...........good tip too ask for apllication form for riu club class card..........you get points for every person thats in your party .......and you can use them to pay for meals ect.
Cannot Fault This Apartment/Hotel
Arrived about 6pm. Check in smooth and very helpful. Bags taken by porter to room, a bit of a treck. It's really a small village, run on German lines and very well. The paintwork is a bit shabby and was being touched up during our stay. The self catering apartment was big. You could live in it full time. Good kitchen and living area, patio door to balcony overlooking kiddies area and onto main pool. Swing squeaked loudly when the kiddies used it. Bedroom big. Patio door onto balcony. TV socket and power points in both rooms. Big storage space and safety deposit box within. Very comfortable beds and good bathroom. Maid service dailly, first class. Towel changed as and when we wished. Bed linen a couple of times per week. Free towel for sunbed, with mattress and umbrella. Supposed rule of not reserving sunbeds sometimes not observed by guess who! Loads of sunbeds though. Big pool area, no feeling of being cramped. Good sized pool. Very clean all round. Three good supermarkets within easy reach. Beach a ten minute downhill walk, loads of places to eat, standards vary. Very clean and quiet resort, though we are book readers and not clubbers. If you like to read, take your own books because the 'library' is all German. A real mix of nationals from Russians to us Anglo/Scots. All staff in hotel and supermarkets extremely helpful and friendly. A cracker of a hotel and a great resort, if a tad hilly. Try Rodeo's for a 17 euro eat you weight, it's up the hill and over the motorway. Otherwise we ate up to three courses for about 10 euro's up to 25 euro's per person. Wine with food a bit dear, 200% mark up on a rose'. The guys outside the eateries a good bit of crack and we stuck with the Aberdeen on the beach. We left at 0355 and arrived home about 1400. G8 problems at Edinburgh Airport where every one of the 180 passengers passport was scanned. I would go back, this is our second trip to Fanabe, Costa Adeje and Porto Colon. This is an outstanding Apartment/hotel, but we did not sample the food, the menus appeared to be very continental, a Dutch/ German mix. We did not watch the night time entertainment. Thoroughly enjoyed our own company.
Great place to stay
We have visited Tenerife two to three times a year over the last twelve years or so and have stayed in some real crummy places after paying a high price as well. We eventually came to stay in this Riu aparthotel about three years ago and now don't even bother looking for some where else to stay we always come back here. I even book the flights and apartments separately myself and the service still remains second to none.On returning if you have a late evening flight and your room is free till the next day or they can move rooms about they do so at no extra charge (this is were most other hotels cash in and charge you a fortune) enabling you to finish off your holiday without rushing to vacate the room and having to queue to use the courtesy room. As most people have said the staff are friendly and bend over backwards to help you, the maids do a really wonderful job at keeping the rooms clean. Everybody where ever they are have problems with plumbing and other household faults so why when you go on holiday should that be different, considering the number of people who go through hotels every year its hardly surprising but what this hotel does is correct it as soon as they can. Youre going to an Island were they depend on tourists to keep afloat if want home from home then stay at home. Iv'e stayed at hotels in this country which cost alot more and aren't up to the same standard. So do remember this is SPAIN and not ENGLAND just chill out, go with the flow and enjoy your holiday.
loved it
Had to write this review after reading the bad ones about this hotel. What do people expect, yes it is supposed to be 4 star but think about what we English pay for it. It is pretty good value for money. Went Feb 2005 and going back April 2005. Staff are really friendly and helpful, hotel is very clean and good facilities. All hotel bars are expensive compared to the many local bars that have so much competition around and about. Swimming pool is excellent can't wait to go again. We use a hotel as a base as like to go to local bars and restaurants but what we saw of the entertainment was entertaining enough. Go to Tenerife at least 3 times a year and many other places in between and would always recommend Riu hotels.
german orientated, rubbish entertainment, ideal for mountain climbers...
4 stars tut tut.booked with Thomas cook was told that this hotel was of top quality!! it is supposed to be classed in the area of las americas NO IT IS NOT.{TRY COSTA ADEJE }.to put it politely it is in the sticks.Taxis a must,of coarse you can use foot power remember to take two pairs of trainers and breathing apparatus because you will need it to climb the hill..MMM Restarant After experiencing no hot water in my room for three days [Told it was like that because everyone else was using it,even at 12 in the night?}we thought we would have breakfast in the hotel while waiting, the charge was 16 euros for the two thought was a little dear. The breakfast was german i asked for a refund after a very intense battle with the receptionist i finally had it back bare in mind that we didnt touch 1 mouthful the look was enough!!! before you think it i dont expect egg and chips im a lover of spanish food.oh and we thought it was nice for them to take our luggage to our room.. they had to it would of killed us to get it there.Drinks in the bar are dear and we found that the entertainment was the same nearly every night.I feel that this is not a four rating hotel..o and i tipped coffee on my sheets oops and they was were not changed for 3 days. top it off on the last day the hotel was flooded hence the yellow wet towels on the floor... was told our luggage would be kept in a safe room ,instead they were left at receptionist where anyone could of stole them..What can i say good riddance RIU ADEJE.oh and first impressions are deceiving!
It was cold in Tenerife!
We spent 1 week here at the end of January and the weather was 17/18 degrees, not what we expected. Nor was I terribly impressed by Tenerife, this was my first visit and I guess the weather was against us. The Rui Adeje was excellent. We had an initial problem with our accomodation and it was sorted in a very satisfactory manner. We stayed in one of the villas which are very good. Plenty of space inside and outside. We had 5 adults staying there and did not feel cramped at all. 2 ensuite bathrooms and a seperate loo helped the bathing/toilet arrangements. We had a jacuzzi in the garden (ok it was too cold to use it but we did have it!) and the men came every morning to clean it, the rooms were spotless too as we had a daily cleaner. We even had fresh flowers, a very nice touch. All in all a nice place to stay. I did notice though that the apartments were a long walk away from the hotel, I really recommend you book a villa!
fantastic!!!
We have just returned from the Riu Adeje (06/01,05) and it was an excellant break. This is a unique Aparthotel set in a Village Style setting. Two excellant pools - one dedicated to the kids, with kids club and playground all in the one area, with the main pool next to the bar and there are plenty of sunbeds for everyone. The rooms were well above average with all the comforts of home and cleaned every day to a very high standard. The entertainment may not be to everyones taste, however, with the main restaurants and bars just a few minutes walk down at the beach this was not a problem, our favourite bar was the First and Last on the seafront, the compare Martin and all the staff were brilliant. The only complaint we had was the 13 euros for two sunbeds and an umbrella on Fanabe beach and that the beach fruit sellers took 9 euros for a melon! You have been warned! A great holiday, great weather, we were sitting on the beach on 1st January in glorious sunshine, great accomodation, great food, great entertainment and great shopping. We can't wait to go back!
Already Booked it Again............
Visited Riu Adeje in January of 2004 when I took my sister away for her thirtieth birthday, took the cheaper option as I was footing the bill and went 'allocated on arrival'. Having done this we didn't know what to expect - even when we found out we were staying at the Riu, but to cut a long story short we loved it and I have booked to go back in January 2005 and my sister is off back in April 2005 - don't need to say any more. By the way I have promised myself that wherever I go if there is a Riu hotel available that is where I am going to stay - it was that good...
