Apatment clean , maids cleaned every day. Cooker hobs useless (but half board upwards not an issue).Swimming pool excellent but get your towels down early (despite notices saying reservatins not allowed)More parasols needed . Entertainment geared towards the german clients but not an issue. Will not hesitate to come back to this friendly hotel !

This hotel is no way a 4star, iv stayed in better 3star accomodation.
There was hardly any hot water after 6pm and the whole apartment had a horrid musty smell. The floors were dusty with clumps of hair and pubic in the corners. The kitchenette was far too basic, no tin opener, no cork screw, three spoons (there was 5 of us) just not 4star standards.
After having a run in with another guest on the 2nd day i complained to the manager and security and felt like i was talking to the spanish chuckle brothers, totally not interested in getting involved to resolve a situation i felt, as a guest, could have been resolved with their help.
I checked out and stayed at a three star hotel that was 10times better and the maids even folded our pj's! Park la Paz was where i moved to, Lydia and the rest of the staff couldnt do more for all the guests, the move of hotels made my holiday.
Also, the kiddies pool at the isabelle is such a mission form the reception and shop, be prepared if the kids want a drink or lolly by the pool all day!!
Conclusion: Should be a 2star rating and simply avoided!!

Holiday Insurance - Watch out

We visited this hotel in February and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Kid's Club is great, and the staff in the club are fantastic. The hotel itself is clean and the staff are pleasant. The food is ok, plenty of variety when you first arrive, but it becomes tiresome after a couple of days.
We didn't have any issues at all until our second last day. My husband had his sunglasses on him in the evening when we went for dinner and he hung them on his top. During dinner our daughter was climbing on him and we think she may have knocked the glasses off in the restaurant.
The following morning when we discovered this, we spoke to the hotel reception and the restaurant to try to retrieve them but they were gone. On this morning I also discovered that a diamond had become dislodged from a sapphire and diamond ring I had.
My husband went to reception to report the losses and make a report as per the terms of our insurance, but the hotel refused to take any details from us! My husband explained that it would be the same form as a theft and the girl said that they don't have a form. He asked for her name and she said that if the insurance company called, she would refuse to say that he had spoken to her! We didn't think that going to the police was appropriate, as it wasn't a theft.
We were disgusted and tried to call VHI to explain, but there was a ten minute wait to speak to someone and they advised us to email, which we did. We also mailed the hotel to express our disgust at the treatment, but got no response.
We sent the claim with the details we had, including a copy of the email we sent to the hotel about what had happened, photos of the items and a lengthy explanation.
We have just gotten a letter back from the insurance telling us that we voided the terms when we didn't report the loss within 24 hours as per the insurance schedule. We are now out of pocket for €600.
I will never again visit the hotel, a reasonably priced holiday has now cost us dearly.
Beware!!

We booked this as we thought being associated with Riu it would be topclass. Big mistake. The only thing topclass about it was the price, £1230 for one week in a cold, damp, basic bungalow with warm water from the shower only after you ran it for 15 mins, and no private garden in spite of the online promise - about 6 foot of grass in front of the window with a main thoroughfare in front of it. So not only could we not sit in our private garden, we couldn't even open our curtains as everyone could see straight into our lounge on the way past! Breakfast was included - though apparently this was optional, had we known we'd have saved over £100 as we did not take it except first morning - only way to describe the breakfast hall is "cattlemarket", totally mobbed and disorganised. Food was terrible too. Pool was nicely laid out with plenty of loungers but even this could not encourage us to say anything positive about the place. Our friends, booked for 10 days, checked out and went back to the UK after 3 - their room was even worse than ours, it had been flooded by torrential rain and they did not get any hot water at all even after running it for 30 mins! In contrast my sister booked into a so-called basic apartment around the corner and paid £300 for the week. In spite of our £900+ charge over her, her apartment was far superior to our bungalow - she even had all mod cons including washer/dryer/iron etc. Mare Verde is where she stayed so look that up.

We asked for an upgrade and paid extra £300 from an appartment to a bungalow. my advice is stay with std accommodation as this is very good value for money the bungalow for 2 adults and child of 13 years paying nearly 1800 for 1 week HB was very expensive. Truely could not see what we paid the extra £300 for. The apartment is not well maintained and bungalow 521 stay well away from as we had x2 lots of rain and rain it did in our kitchen bathroom dinning room and bedroom. We got through many towels just mopping up. The smell was not good and the cockroaches that appear after bad rain in our bathroom were amazing. Our Rep on the other hand was never to be seen. Quote!! No PROBLEM, off cause there are no PROBLEMS if you are the rep and never can be found. As I say apart from thinking we were on the move every day and after 5 days I just gave up.
On the other hand the staff and the hotel were fantastic and very friendly. Yes our boy loved playing with other children of different cultures, not just German Swedish etc. I would consider going back to Riu hotel again but not room 521 and it was very expensive for the quality of room we received. Just book std appartment and do not upgrade and you will be more than happy with your holiday. I only wish we had not paid the extra.

Have stayed in this hotel twice and on both occasions the service from staff and cleaners was excellent.
Superb pool area plenty of sun loungers .
I love the way the apartments are laid out like a mediteranian village. You are not overcrowded and like the touch of your own little sunbathing area outside the apartments.
Apartments were spacious and fully equiped and I would not hesitate to return again.

Just returned from a fantastic family holiday at the Riu Adeje. The staff are unbelievably nice, helpful, friendly & speak very good english. The pool is fantastic, always plenty of sunbeds available & if no umbrella near your sunbeds then just ask as NOTHING is too much trouble. Pool snacks 10/10 price, choice & taste!! Daily poolside entertainment for both adults & kids. WE FELT VERY SAFE IN LETTING OUR 7YR OLD BOY GO WITH THE STAFF AT KIDS CLUB. (This is a very important pointer I think)! Evening entertainment again very good. We did tend to go out of the resort on an evening to dine at one of many many many many delicious restaurants. (you must visit LE BRASSERIE) one of the guys that welcome you is spanish with a scottish twang! (you will know who I mean straight away)! and returned to the resort at 10.30pm onwards where the entertainment was still underway. I could go on & on about this holiday as it was fantastic. You must go on the submarine safari excersion very interesting. Also a BIG must is LORO PARQUE this was an amazing day out not only for the kids.
The only reason I have rated this holiday 9/10 is because the flight out to tenerife was not a very nice experience. one member of our party suffers with travel sickness & after asking for a glass of water several times we ended up buying a bottle. and there were no sick bags available on the plane but we were provided with a white bin liner!! (By this time it was too late). Onflight meals were very good & entertainment excellent.
All in all a fantastic family holiday. Well recommended.
It was even more enjoyable that we were there when Spain won EURO 2008. (sorry Germany)

We have just come back from this hotel, and we had a really lovely family holiday there. The hotel is very nice, the service is excellent and the staff are very efficient and friendly (and all speak good English). The pool area is very nice with comfy sunbeds. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, and the breakfast buffet was absolutely fantastic! So much choice, and you can eat as much as you like. We also ate there one evening, and again there was a good choice and varied selection of dishes, hot and cold. The weather was lovely and warm and sunny which was the icing on the cake. The resort of Costa Adeje is very nice around the hotel and then to the seafront and turn right into the Del Duque area - lovely! All in all a great and memorable holiday, highly recommended.

This was the first time we had stayed at this hotel. I found the service excellent, nothing was too much trouble for them.
The apartment was cleaned by 10am everyday, the small problems we encountered like a broken patio chair was put right within an hour of our telling the reception.
Pool was a little cooler than I would have liked but the waiter service made up for that.
The hotel is very near the beach, just a short walk.
all in all we will be using this hotel again!

Not a good start to the holiday when...
10 / 10
Jan 2008, Mr S Arnott

Not a good start to the holiday when hearing of the Madeline McCann situation in the car on the way to the airport, however we were very pleased to see this Holiday Village had only one entrance and exit through the reception which came as a relief to both my wife and myself as we had 2 kids of 4 and 2.
The Village is very well maintained - Yes the interior decoration of the apartments could be updated but at the end of the day they were extremely clean and had all the facilities you could wish for.
As for the people who complained about the amount of Germans etc there all I can say is our kids loved mixing with other nationalities - German, Swedes and Dutch - It was wonderful if a bit embarrassing that the parents could all speak English but we could not speak any of their native tongues!

With regards to the Staff all I can say is very helpful and wonderful with the kids.
If you are someone that likes to socialise and mix with other nationalities then I would strongly recommend booking this resort (1 tip though - We have just booked for next year and booking the flights with Monarch and the apartment with Rui direct has saved a huge amount - The taxi fare from the airport is only about £25).
