Stockholm in the winter is very, very cold, to say the least. Rap up warm. The place and the people on the other hand are some of the friendliest (and best looking) people I have met.
The city caters for all tastes. A touch of the historical in the old town, new modern architecture, shopping galore, including the local 4 H&M shops, so popular in the UK and so much bigger and better in Stockholm.
Museums, including the modern art museum and the museum of architecture have wonderful exhibits to get you out of the cold, icy day.
Restaurants of all shapes and sizes, as well as bars, jazz clubs and so forth all cater for your every wish and desire.
A must see is the indoor market, smells and aromas of fresh Swedish food of all varieties, with colours to attract even the biggest McDonalds lover.
The hostel was roughly £12 a night for a room of 4, it had exceptional facilities, and was spotlessly clean.

A group of us visited Stockholm in March and stayed at Zinkensdamm.
The hostel is more like a Travel Inn. The staff were friendly and helpful they don't hassle you but there if you need them.
There is not much around the hostel but travelling by train is easy and the station is only 5min walk, well worth it to stay here.
As you can imagine 9 females on a weekend away the noise level from our rooms rose considerably over the weekend, however no one complained and staff were fine, joining in with the laugh when we were passing.
I would recommend this hostel to anyone and would definitely stay here again.
