We are just back from Las Marinas 2 days ago and I recommend this hotel to families. the apartment (1 bedroom) was spacious, quiet (and we were only 20 metres from the bar)and clean . I would say though that the sofa bed in the lounge is extremely hard: being a single mattress on a roll out unsprung base, from under the sofa. We took turns getting little or no sleep on it, and would try to get a 2 bed appt next time.
The choice , timing and variety of food was vast. My fussy children age 9 and 11 ate well on pasta, sausages, pork chops, burgers, chips , hot dogs and ice creams etc (with the occasional fruit and veg thrown on for good measure), and I dined like a queen on stuffed aubergines, fancy healthy salads and exotic fish. The all-inclusive nightly cocktail went down well, as did the local wines and sangria.
The kids club staff were genuinely friendly and enthusiastic, but could not lure my children away from the pools during the day- although the reptile show and kids disco at night did go down a treat.
I did hear complaints from the older generation that the food wasnt hot enough, but as a single mother of 2, i never get to sit down to a boiling hot meal, so found nothing out of the ordinary in that one.
The indoor pool we never saw, as it was closed the only day we would have used it- always being shut sundays- note that one.
The free bus to the town and beach combined went 3 times a day and we used it every morning to get to the shops /chemist/supermarket/beach. Sometimes we just got a taxi , as it is only 3 euros to go anywhere in Costa Teguise .
although this hotel complex IS on the edge of town, I feel it compensates for that with the superiour facilities and value for money.

Nearly cancelled due to bad reviews and that would have been a pity.Staff very friendly and polite.Hotel kept really clean, rooms cleaned to high standard. This AI holiday cost slightly less than our self catering one 2 years previous at galeon playa so we thought it excellent value for money. Food was plentiful but unfortunately not very hot and no microwaves to reheat.Jose on pool bar sooo polite especially in the face of so much rudeness from children,Hello parents please and thankyou cost nothing try teaching it to your children!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did not feel there was much for the 10-15 year olds in way of entertainment on evening. Some people who were AI were determined to milk it all they could every meal eaten in hotel and drinking all night every night in bar. Sad really as we had some brilliant meals out and it made the holiday more fun.Got local bus to Puerto del Carmen and had a great day and meal out.It takes 15 mins to get to main part of Costa Teguise and most of that can be done along sea front so very pleasant.Taxi back from Lani's one evening cost 5 euros with tip,not expensive at all.All things considered a good value, friendly hotel and a brill holiday. Oh, and I do have children, four of them aged 10,12,and twins 13,and they all say please and thankyou.

23 of us went to Lanzrote in Jan, we stayed in Las Marinas for 1 Week. On Arrival to the apartments my first thoughts were look at the state of the place, but I said i'll give it a chance maybe its different inside. On arrival at reception, staff were freindly, there was a lot of confusion checking in and our rooms were all mixed up. Finally checked in and received our key, apartments clean and spacious, but def not 4 star standard! We arrived about 5ish so near time for dinner, got unpacked and whatever and headed for dinner, food was awful! and everyday was the same, I think I ate in it twice. I think maybe they re-heated the food sometimes as it always looked the same.
During the day at the poolside, there was a snack bar for burgers and toasties and drinks, this was better than the main restaurant, but all I can say is coffee was nice.
Main bar no complaints, staff freindly and drink dead on.
Limited entertainment but it was January so wast expecting much.
I wouldn't recommend this place.

We have just arrived back from 2 weeks at this Aparthotel, and although we had a perfectly good time when we were away, the hotel is not all it's cracked up to be.
This is the first time in 13 years of travelling that I have felt compelled to inform others of our experience. I read the good and bad reports after I had booked it and prayed that the bad reports were people who were wingers and who always moan about things.
Both Thomas Cook and Airtours bill it as a 4star hotel, I am afraid it is a very average and basic 3star. Altogether SHABBY.
The Thomas Cook brochure describes it as 'Modern and stylish apartments, offering a good standard of accommodation'. Airtours describe it as 'Great for families and young couples, this modern high quality complex has great facilities offering fun for the youngsters and on site entertainment. It is definitely NOT modern/stylish/high standard of accommodation.
As a family with young children I didn't feel we were well catered for at all, but more to come on that subject a little later on.
There have been 20 break-ins in the past month, and there were 2 break-ins whilst we were there. A family that we became friendly with whilst there, who were in a ground floor apartment, were called on the day of one break-in to be reminded to lock all doors and windows when they went out. This was rather un-nerving.
The complex sits on a very busy dual carriageway, although you are not aware of the road whilst you are in the complex itself and you don't hear any road noise when you are in your room or while you are at the poolside, unless you are in one of 2 blocks that back onto the road. The complex has nothing surrounding it apart from other apartment blocks and one large hotel opposite. Don't expect to walk outside the hotel and find any amenities.
The brochure accuracy for the distance to shops/beach/bars/restaurants are correct, as the crow flies it is 1.2km to the nearest beach, but it is quite a walk to the nearest supermarket.
As far as the food is concerned, yuk, absolutely disgusting, breakfast was the best meal of the day; tea/toast/cereal.
Lunch and dinner were very much the same food every day; pork, paella for lunch, then pork, paella for dinner. Things which appeared at lunch then reappeared cooked into dishes in the evening (i.e.; bacon from breakfast appeared in the carbonara at lunch, carrots from lunch veg appeared in the stew at dinner.
Our 7 year old daughter didn't eat for a fortnight. They do not cater for kids who are fussy and will only eat chicken nuggets, fish fingers, and chips.
Service in the restaurant, pool bar , evening bar, and reception was excellent, we found the staff were always courteous and helpful.
Maid service was also excellent, linen and towels were changed sufficiently.
We had a 1 bedroom apartment and it was huge, really spacious and plenty of storage space.
Pool towels are available from reception, they take a swipe of your credit card and give you the slip back at the end of your stay, so there is no charge.
The safe in the room is a good idea too.
The kids play park is a joke, green astro turfed area with a shed which is about to fall down, 2 swings with seat pads that melt in the heat, and a plastic chute.
The 2 staff who run the kids club are really nice people but they do short change the kids at night when it's disco time, our kids looked forward to the disco all day. The first week they got half an hour each night then it became 20 minutes in the second week.
All in all we had a good time and made the best of the bad location, horrid food, and shabby surroundings. It was made better due to the people we met whilst we were there, and it became a standing joke all the things that brought the place down; namely the 50 people who arrived from Tenerife as guests of the hotel manager, who behaved appallingly.
If you haven't booked yet, do your research on alternative places to stay.

Well...were do I start!! This was our honeymoon and we had already had problems which meant we were moved to this hotel by Thomas Cook 3 days before we were due to leave. On arriving in the reception, we were pretty impressed and thankful that it seemed a nice hotel.
Rooms are nicely furnished and spacious, however maintenance on the rooms is a big issue! My husband sat on a patio chair on the first night and ended up flat on his back and banged his head on the wall. This meant 2 days of him not being able to go into the swimming pool or have fun with our children. We also noticed another chair had cracks in 2 legs. The window handle was not secure properly, a plug socket was not fitted properly and there was a round metal plate near the toilet that was not secured properly either. It took 4 days to fix the window handle, 5 days before we could all sit on the patio and 6 days to secure the plate in the toilet. The plug socket was not touched in the time we were there. Luckily we could hide this behind a unit and our children are old enough to know not to touch!
The tour operators rep was useless to say the least (although this is not the hotels fault).
Food was repetitive although good quality and thankfully our children eat most things anyway.
Most of the staff were great and friendly apart from a few.
Entertainment staff (Chris & Anna) were fantastic!!! Our 3 children (6, 8, 10) loved the games, activities and the children's mini disco. On many occasion both myself and my husband were asked to join in. We all became good friends.
Security... this is a big issue for this hotel. Anyone going should beware. The patio doors are not secure as we were broken into and then told by hotel staff that if "you push the patio doors in the right place, the doors will open". Two other families also got broken into on the same evening. Although we were on the ground floor, the other families were on 1st floor. The next evening, about 8pm, the security guard was found inside the room of 2 teenage girls. The hotel informed us that rooms being broken into was an issue and they had had at least 7 break ins in the last 3 months. Out of the 3 rooms which were broken into 2 of us had safes and our rooms were hardly touched, the 3rd family however didn't have a safe and the robber went through all their belonging. All of us were leaving on the Thursday and the break ins happened the Tuesday evening. This only left Wednesday for us all to do anything about it.
Overall, the middle of our holiday was great and this was mainly due to Chris & Anna (entertainment staff).

Apartments at complex very good, cleaned most days. Food and entertainment wasn't good at all.
Kids club consisted of a wooden shed on a small park. Same songs, dances for 1 hour at night.
Complex about 2 miles from centre of Teguise, not a great deal to do when you get there.
Worst holiday and most expensive we've ever had.

Well lots of people have given this hotel a bad review so before going I was pretty worried, but when we got there it was actually pretty impressive.
The food – delicious - compliments to the chef. There is a wide variety but it is just the same every night but the food is still very good there. Being all-inclusive is great because you can just have as much of it as you want!
The miniclub/entertainment - the miniclub is sort of like a shed with some swings next to it but I must say that the children seemed to enjoy it a lot! There is a games room with pool tables and air hockey, they seem a bit shabby and the air hockey table doesn't always work but we still had a laugh in there. The entertainment was good, wasn't the best but it was entertaining. Also the two mini club leaders are so lovely and funny and made the holiday so much more fun. There is also a mini disco for the little ones and the children loved it, they were all up dancing, it is lovely.
The bar - is very good, and always a good atmosphere in there with great music.
The staff - most of the staff there are so lovely, funny and play with the kids which was great but a couple of them are so miserable and seemed like they don't want to give you the time of day.
The rooms - are so clean. The beds are comfy, they were great. The only bad thing I could say was that the TV is pretty rubbish and the bathroom sometimes smelt like sewage but overall the room was fine.
The pool - they are quite cold but you get used to that. I must warn you the pool tiles are very slippy when wet, so be careful.
The snack bar - the women who served us there was so grumpy and pulled her face if you asked her for more than one ice-cream. However the snack bar is great if you want to chill around the pool all day because you have somewhere to get food, drinks and snacks.
Our family fully enjoyed the holiday. Even though some things were a bit poor; such as the miniclub, some of the staff and the entertainment but we still fully enjoyed it and had a great time with what we had!

To begin with, the holiday was going fine. We had booked all inclusive and was generally happy with the service staff provided and the apartment.
After 3days our all inclusive card was taken off us and we were told we had not booked all inclusive, when we had. After trying and trying to sort out this problem we had to spend the rest of the holiday on half board. Then things seemed to get worse.
Cockroaches infested in the bathroom and underneath the beds. Bad smells filled the bathroom. I was disgusted.
My seven year daughter was frightened to go to sleep due to the cockroach problem.
The food was repetitive, especially the children’s menu, chips, chips and more chips. We spent more money having to go out at night for food. Paying for taxis and food to eat out. We was in the middle of nowhere!!
The kids club was a small wooden shed which I felt wasn't safe for my child or any other children.
I was worried for the safety of me and my family. Apart from these dreadful disadvantages I came home with a fantastic tan! Good luck to the next lot of victims!

I stayed in this hotel with my mother and 4 year old daughter the last two weeks of June, and can only say that because I expected a 4 star hotel I was very disappointed.
The hotel itself is very nice, the rooms spacious and very clean, however the lack of facilities and entertainment and poor variety of food, made this hotel more an excellent 2 star or average 3 star rating, and not the 4 star standard I had anticipated.
The shop on the complex was closed down and meant that you had to travel into Costa Teguise to get basic essentials, the free courtesy bus offered (which only runs 4 times per day each way) did not take you into the centre of the town as the hotel had stated but left you at Las Cucharas, which was approximately 10 mins walk from centre.
This is not a problem for adults but would pose a problem for elderly, disabled, or those people with small children, especially if they are walking and not in a pram.
The food compared to other resorts I have stayed in was very poor in variety and contained a lot of fish dishes and red meat. Most nights out of the 6 main dishes offered 4 would have been fish and the other 2 veal or lamb or pork.
Children appeared to live on pizza and chips and many dishes i.e. salads and desserts were repeated every day. This meant during our 2nd week we began eating out a lot.
The pools were very nice but cold; the middle heated pool was occasionally not heated but kept clean. The tiled area around the pools are very slippy when wet and children and indeed some adults fell daily on the tiles.
If you are looking for a nice quiet hotel and not concerned about entertainment then this hotel is honestly very nice, unfortunately as we were looking forward to the kids club, disco and evening entertainment - we were sadly disappointed on the poor lack of information and coordination of this.
The mini disco lasts about 20 mins and then you have to wait for about an hour for evening entertainment (which with the exception on a few nights was extremely poor) lasting only about 30-40 mins ending just after 10pm. There was no quiz, disco and bingo was the only entertainment offered on a Sunday night only.
The theft is still an issue with quite a few people getting things taken from their apartments, however it seems to be mostly those apartments on the ground floor that are targeted.
If this hotel had rated itself 3 star and been more honest about the facilities they claim to have (i.e. shop, bus, disco etc) I would have been less disappointed as I would have not gone expecting a 4 star hotel standard.
Also a note to anyone considering going to the Water Park in Costa Teguise. DON’T! It cost €21 per adult and €15 per child then they had the cheek to ask for an additional €2.50 per sunbed and €5 per locker (€3 refunded on return of locker key) they also had boats and for children which cost €2.50 for 8mins and bouncy castle and trampolines all at another cost.
The children are not allowed to use adult slides (even if accompanied) and the adults are not allowed to use children’s slides so young children who won’t go down alone or parents that can’t leave the child can not enjoy the park as a family.
The only thing I can really say about this park is there was more Dont's than do's, at least 2 parties complained whilst we were in the park and demanded a full refund. My advice is just give it a miss unless you’re going without children.

The hotel is clean but the location isn't the best, being a very good walk to the seafront and any bars or restaurants. The rooms are of a generous size and well fitted, almost like apartments. The food was ok but not upto a 4 **** standard.
We stayed on a HB basis for only £280 each (including daytime flights) so overall it was very good value. In short the location lets the hotel down a fair bit and I think the hotel merits a good 3 *** rating. I would certainly stay at the hotel again if I could get a similar deal.
