Riu Palace Meloneras Resort

Have just spent two lovely weeks in this quiet relaxing hotel.
The rooms may be a little tired, but we were lucky enough to get a suite in the garden villa's and this was very comfortable, plenty of space and with a separate living room and large bathroom, with a window that you could actually open (very unusual).
There are two very nice pools with plenty of sunbeds, but the usual reservation of these started (to our amazement) at 6.30am!! The water (in the swimming pool) was a little cold, but that seems usual in the Canary Island hotels.
The grounds are immaculate and very pretty. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly.
There is a book library in the conference room with quite a good selection of English (in good condition) books.
The restaurant is very relaxed and there are no long queues for the food. The food is very good, plenty of variety for both breakfast and dinner. The seafood was excellent with some of the largest prawns we have ever seen. (And the best chips we have had in a hotel.)
The location is in a very quiet area with a superb promenade enabling walks into Maspalomas in one direction and Playa Meloneras in the other.
Would recommend this hotel to couples and families with young children, but not teenagers.

This is our absolute favourite hotel ever, and we’re going back this year on June 13th, for the sixth time.
We are great admirers of the RIU philosophy - happy staff make happy customers - and this is certainly true in every Riu Hotel across the world.
Try the Riu Palace Mexico in Playacar as well, and you'll see what I mean! Relax, enjoy, and know that nothing is too much trouble at a Riu hotel.

Fantastic Holiday the hotel was beautiful and the staff superb, it is suitable for couples and children; we stayed in a villa, which was ideal when you have kids. The hotel is close to all amenities the food in the hotel is exquisite. Entertainment in the hotel is very good aswell. This Hotel should be classed as a 5 star hotel.
