booked apartments elsewhere but on arrival asked for transfer. Went to Montana as i stayed there before i thought they would be ideal. Apartments clean, comfortable and spacious no problems there, but when it came to air conditioning a charge of 48 euro per week and a lot of hidden extras for the basic requirments of an apartment such as a toasterl, iron and parasols poolside, if you add these up it would come to nearly 100 euro which is a lot, the poolside bar was very expensive 1 pack of crisps 1.80 euro a total disgrace. I think places like this are pricing themselves out of the market when there is no need to as the place is busy enough to make ample profit.

my husband myself and 2 other adults and 2 kids aged 23mths,6yrs stayed for a week .was abit worried after reading reviews need'nt have been excellent apartments very clean and spacious we got 315 which was actually 316 also both made into one apartment so that meant 2 bathrooms as well as 2 bedrooms kettle and microwave and loads of cutlery.Kids pool very shallow which was great for my youngest tilles slippery when wet you just have to wear pool shoes, entertainment not bad but we spent most nights down town anyway beware of bar and resturant prices very expensive but spar shop just down the road.Dont miss the texas ranch barbacue fantastic night we all loved it.Water park great fun if you dont enjoy it you must be really fussy. All in all had a fantastic holiday this was our third time in lanzarote after holidaying other places but lanzarote is hard to beat and will return next year.

We are just back from Lanzarote and...

Jul 2008, Ms LM Martin

We are just back from Lanzarote and had a fantastic time. My partner and our two children went. The apartments at Club Montana were lovely and clean, and cleaned nearly every day. Entertainment was great, kids had a ball with the camel racing, and I just loved the bingo! The reason Im not giving Club Montana 10/10 is because the price of things is ridiculous, a packet of crisps 2 euro! a small plate of chips 3.50! u even have 2 rent a toaster, mad.
Anyway pool was great, apartment was great, and weather was perfect. x

Just back from a weeks holiday in...

Just back from a weeks holiday in Lanzarote . Would recommend Montana.
I was a bit apprehensive about booking as I had read reviews on the apartments but found it to be as high a standard as most places. Our apartment was cleaned 5 days out of 7 with clean linen and towels provided. Beds were a little hard but didnt disturb sleep !!!! Had an apartment with pool view and the sun shone on verandah for most of the day
Staff were very friendly but found the bar to be very expensive compared to others in the area.
One down side was the pool, it was very deep and only a small section was allocated for the kids. Also the tiled area around the pool and bar was extremley slippey and there was a few accidents .
Toasters/hairdryers had to be paid for at reception .. with a deposit given too
I would def return to the Montana Club

Just returned from 1 week starting...

Jan 2008, Miss A Kennedy

Just returned from 1 week starting 27th Dec. Accommodation in room 108 was very damp, no sunlight reached the room at any time. Verandah looked onto the back of another building, no sunlight either. Beds were rock hard and very damp. Linen was not changed throughout the whole week and towels were only changed twice. I had to ask at reception twice for bath/shower to be fixed, it wouldn't empty after use.
Pool was freezing, it was empty the whole time we were there. Hot food was nice from the bar but expensive. We were charged €3.60 for 2 packs of King Cheese and onion taytos, about 3 times the amount at home. To use a hair dryer you had to hire it for €9 per week.
Very noisy at night time also. I tried to ring security guard at least 5 times one night to stop the noise upstairs and it just rang out constantly.
I would not recommend these apartments to anyone. Came home with a chest infection from them and met another couple over there that had the same problem.
On the upside it is very centrally located and Lanzarote at that time of year was very nice. Would definitely go back again next year at the same time but not to that apartment.

Jan 2008, Ms S Adair

My partner and I visited the Montana Apartments in Sept 2006, we liked it that much we tried to get there again for 2007 but it was fully booked, we settled for Matagorda but we were not impressed at all. We are definitely going to Montana Club this year, the accomodation was fine and very clean, fresh linen and cleaners every day, bar snacks excellent and entertainment in hotel very good, we went into town every night, lots to do, lovely restaurants, lovely people, cant wait to go back.

Where to start really? Lanzarote off...
5 / 10
Jan 2008, Mr Trevor Wiseman

Where to start really? Lanzarote off season is usually pretty tattoo-free but sadly our most recent visit was marred tattoo-toting types who seemed unable to occupy space without making excessive noise and behaving in a tedious, attention-seeking manner.
The Montana apartments does take children but thankfully those in evidence during our visit were better behaved than their parents. However, Montana was sadly short on vegetarian options but we were lucky in that my intrepid partner managed to unearth a super vegetarian bistro not far away. A local supermarket had a few bottles of organic wine tucked away which allowed us to have a few drinks without mixing with the vulgarians.
We thought that we had exhausted the cultural offerings of Lanzarote but a revisit to the national park at Timanfaya rekindled memories of previous visits. The staff at the apartments were polite but not engaging. The bedding was adequate but lacked bounce! The entertainment on offer was clearly geared towards the Karaoke-clientèle and we elected to seek our titillation elsewhere! Ultimately we were divided as to whether a return visit would be in order; Norman for, myself firmly against.

Oct 2007, Ms E Delougheery

My partner and I and three teenagers have just returned from a week at Montana apartments. They are very clean and spacious. Ok, we did have a cockroach which my daughter nearly lost her life over, but we really could not fault the place.
The staff were very friendly.
The pools were great and the entertainment at night was fine.
We would recommend it to anyone.

Montana Apartments were very clean,...

Oct 2007, Miss H Maxwell

Montana Apartments were very clean, spacious and in a lovely setting. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool, and although the pool was freezing, it was nice to cool down!
I rated these apartments as an '8' as we found the prices in the bar quite expensive. The bar & reception staff were friendly, as we asked to change rooms when we arrived, as rooms 115 - 118 were right behind the bar, we got another room within an hour.
10 mins took you into the main resort, where you will be spoilt for choice for bars, restaurants & shops. There was also a Spar and a Pizzeria 5 mins from the apartments.
All in all, we had a great holiday & would definitely go back to Montana.

I stayed in the Montana Apts the...
4 / 10
Jul 2007, Mrs M Russell

I stayed in the Montana Apts the first week in July. I wasn't at all impressed by the place.
I stayed with my husband, my son of 14 and my daughter of 4. We were put into an apartment right behind the bar and the only view we had was of the back of the bar which the music didn't finish until 12.30.
I asked reception to change my room on the Monday I arrived and the best he could do for me was on the Thursday. I spoke to our rep who wasn't that helpful. She could get me moved to the apts opposite but I would have to pay €155.00 more. She could also move me to Costa Teguise but that would be an extra €55.00 but I would have to get my own taxi out there.
I didn't want to spend any more money we had spent enough to stay in the Montana. Reception eventually moved me to another apartment but on the Thursday morning.
The food and drink was expensive in the pool bar. A vodka and coke is €8.80.
2 burgers and chips, hot dog and chips and hot dog on its own cost us €30.00 which is pricey.
On the good side the bar staff, receptionist were very nice and helpful.

We stayed at the Montana club...
9 / 10
May 2007, Miss J Mills

We stayed at the Montana club apartments for 1 week my partner, my mother and I and our 2 children age 11 years and 6 months,
Firstly I would like to point out that all the apartments have just been refurbished, as some of the comments state that the apartments are in need of a makeover.
We booked the 2 bedroom apartment. huge, but up a couple of flights of stairs, so be careful.
I have to say that we all had a fantastic holiday and this was partly due to the beautiful surroundings of the Montana Club apartments. 2 very nice pools that were quite warm actually, may have been due to the weather though, as it was fantastic when we stayed.
The staff and reps are very friendly and the accommodation was outstanding for a 3star apartment. Spotless clean, with almost everything you would need accept additional charges for the toaster etc. With breakfasts as cheap as 3euro almost everywhere, we didn’t feel the need for one.
The beds, although a little hard, were fine as you didn’t have a feeling of dread getting into them, the sheets were spotless, also enough hangers, towels, kitchenware, etc. with a young baby these were things that we really appreciated.
Also the rooms at night were pitch black and no sun entered in the morning, so you wouldn’t have a clue what time it was neither did the baby at times (great).
We ate lunch in the bar on several occasions and it was fine, nice salads and burgers. but the beer, spirits and soft drinks were a bit pricey.
On the occasions that we did not go into the town (5 min walk to the casino) we stayed in the bar, the entertainment was OK for a small complex and all the kids seemed to be having a great time joining in, as well as some of the adults.
Overall this was a great choice and while looking around Puerto Del Carmen, we did not really see any apartments that could live up to them.
So I would definitely recommend them and will look forward to staying there again.

I have just come back from a week in...
2 / 10
Apr 2007, Mrs A McCabe

I have just come back from a week in the Montana Apartments.
The rooms are very clean and all the staff are extremely helpful and pleasant.
Before you book a trip here you should be aware of all the hidden costs which you will find. It is a complete rip off.
If you want a toaster for your room you must pay €9, the microwave is €30, the mattress for the sun bed is €2.50 per day and a €10 deposit.
The drinks in the bar are the same price as in Temple Bar Dublin. A Smirnoff ice is €4.80.
On our patio we had cast iron chairs, I went to reception to see could I get a cushion for the seats and he said of course but wait for it.... that would be €7.
The water in the pool is extremely cold and not many people went into it.
The beds in the rooms are like concrete blocks, all of my group had bad cramps in their calf muscles at least once in the week, enough to wake you up at night.
On the day of our departure with a late flight all they gave us was the pool bar to leave are cases in. If you wanted to wash after being in the pool you had to use the toilets.
We went up to buy 5 packets of crisps while we waited on the bus and the price was €8.50, we told them to keep them and ran down to the spar down the road where we bought the crisps for €3.25.
After checking around in the local area none of the other apartment /hotels had any of these hidden extras, so if you’re thinking of going I would recommend strongly you go somewhere else.
