" over rated "

On arrival at concord front we were left to find our own way to our room on entering the room we found that the bathroom was flooded so we contacted reception to get a plummer out which turned up within 30 mins a further 30 mins later they had replaced the broken part and part mopped up the water in the bathroom thou the bedroom was still wet. Looking out in the morning we found that the sea view we had paid extra for which was over £150 consisted of a small area of sea showing over the roof tops. we complained that we had ordered a front sea view and were found one 3 days later. The hotel food is passable but not very hot and trying to find a table unless you are there early in near on impossible. two tables we sat at collapsed as soon as any pressure was put on them on asking to be moved they just left the tables as they were and no repaires were seen during our stay there. The staff in the restaurants were either excellent in the non smoking area and awlful in the smoking area where we had to wait up to 30 mins and longer to get a drink. The staff at the beach restaurant did not offer one smile the whole week. The situation of sunbeds is unbelievable and towels were in place before 6am if we arrived at the pool or beach after 9 a.m all beds were taken and some not layed upon until mid day.the hotel is very popular with russians and the ratio was aprox 80 per cent to 20 per cent british. The other complaint is the entainment which on our scale reached a 3 out of 10 amature and childish but ok if you liked miss concorn. Mr and mrs concord. Mr concorn need i go on. the singer was good but the same songs every night. Def not a 5 star hotel and one i would not go back to.

Advice: NOT SUITABKE FOR BEACH

" Definitely not 4 star "

Where to start, upon arrival we where advised to que for a visa, we enquired as to whether this was necessary as we only wanted to go on a boat trip and was not going to visit either Ciaro, Luxor or go to Jerusalem. Upon the advice from one of the airport staff we bought the visa...later it transpired that we didnt need one for the boat trip - so we could have saved £26!!! After hauling your luggage half a mile up a hill to a coach park standing by your alotted coach is Mr. Tip Tip what a joke he wanted money for putting your luggage in the compartment we did not tip tip!!
When we arrived at the hotel all appeared to be quite nice and as looked in the photos. Check in was quick and taken to our room by helpful bell boy who deserved a tip. Room was disapointing to say the least double suite was actually two singles shoved together decor was very shabby and although cleanish definitely not spotless especially shower curtain which was full of grime all holiday!!
Food was shocking although there is a reasonable amount of choice in the one buffet restaurant quality of food was low! Meat especially is very tough and tastless. if waiters in this restaurant not tipped straight away beware you will get ignored the rest of your stay. the idea of cleaining tables is to use your own napkin and brush the old food from someone else on to your chair!!!!
Dont bother with Italian al a carte as food is not much better here!!
Piano bar staff extremely rude and also ignore you if not tipped for doing their usual job! However pool bar staff and beach bar staff are very helpfull as are the towel, gardeners and gym workers and very hard working.
to be honest its quite cheap to eat out at hard rock and TGI Fridays so we'd suggest to do that a few times otherwise you will get Rameses revenge every night!!! Soho Sq is nice but over priced as they know you have money Naama Bay is basically Blackpool with heat. be prepared to be mithered.

" ill, ill and still ill 3 weeks later "

On first impressions, thought WOW! This is fab! - the hotel is beautiful, the room was lovely and thought we had found the location of all our future holidays.....
Day 1 - up late as landed late, so just went for a wander around the grounds until lunch. Lunch in the italian was lovely. Then just spent the afternoon under the umberellas by the gym pool (right outside our room), whilst our 9 yr old was being a water baby and having a whale of a time! Evening came and went to buffet for dinner - good choice though long queues for pizza and pasta.
After dinner, got a taxi to Naama Bay as the bus was fully booked - but didn't like it as like Blackpool on steroids! Back to hotel and had one drink in the bar before retiring with the intention of getting up early to go snorkelling.
Unfortunately, that was the end of the good bit - from about 0530 onwards on day 2, first husband and then me, came down with the tummy bug! Wow, what a bug it is too - bed bound for 3 days and after that only able to curl up on a lounger in the shade by the pool.
But, it seemed that almost everyone had it to some extent - some better/worse than others. got medicines from the chemists, 3 different types of tablets in all, but did no good.
3 weeks later, my husband still quite ill so been to the docs this morning and now got to give a sample to find out what is wrong. I'm not too bad now, but just gutted at such a crap holiday. Someone we have been in touch with has been diagnosed with E-Coli, so expecting that result too.
Now a group claim is being dealt with by Pannone solicitors in Manchester, as so many people got it.
We were very careful with hygiene, used the hand gells, did the pro biotics for 2 weeks before we went - did everything to prevent this.
BUT THE GOOD THING>>>>>> our 9 year old was fine! However, he did live on freshly made pizza and chips .........but i was so scared of him getting it.
So, if you have booked - go and just eat pizza and chips and you'll have a fantastic time. If you haven't yet booked but are reading this to try to make up your mind - don't go, its just not worth the risk of being so ill - its not your normal touch of holiday tummy that most people get in different/hot climates.
And the main topic of conversation is..... bowel movements - great eh? Just what you want on a holiday.

Advice: good if you ned to lose weight.......

Activities: Bottom of the bucket was about the only view we had.......

" A disappointmernt "

Booked on the basis of the hotel 'overlooking the Red Sea' etc. Us and 4 other couples were put into the Sports Hall, about half a mile away from the main hotel and directly opposite the airport.
Hotel wasnt awful but just not what we had paid for and it wasnt made clear as we booked last minute without a brochure (or the internet which was not available on the day of booking).
Door of apartment overlooked runway and the smell of aviation fuel was interesting! Had to wait for shuttle buses to and from the main hotel and Red Sea, which was extremely irritating and you couldnt just pop back to the room to get something, etc.
Food was presentable but repetetive and even ice cream had to be paid for. The local alcohol was undrinkable - all spirits tasted the same and seemed to be slightly perfumed (?). So we stuck to beer.
Not serial complainers but this not what we had booked, fully inclusive was not as we were led to believe. The 'entertainment' was entertaining because it was either non existent in the Sports Hall (or you had to go to the main hotel)or because it was just so comically bad.
I came back with Giardia (an internal parasite). Would only pay top notch if I ever consented to go back. However, nothing but nothing beats the view under the surface of the Red Sea. Had to have something positive.
As repeated First Choice customers, we were very disappointed at their offhand attitude about our booking and would not book with them again.

Advice: Not this hotel but endless sun and Red Sea is beautiful

" Wow we love Egypt more and more each time we go back "

Me and my family have been to some lovely places all over the world
Hong Kong,Thailand,America . We first started going to Egypt four years ago and ever since then we have not been able to stop going back. Egyptian people are so lovely you can't fault them at all there so kind and caring nothing is too much trouble for them. In the Main hotel the pool is outstanding and the staff are lovely .. weather is hot all year round its amazing, the views are out of this world in each direction you look in. finally the Concorde El Salam Hotel i recommended this hotel to travel agents who have been and agreed with us one word to describe our trip UNBELIEVABLE and will be going back in June ... Say Hi to Ehab,Aziz,Waled (lads at the pool)

" Fantastic "

Just got back form the Concorde.Don't listen to any of the bad reviews, they are just moaning about nothing. We stayed at the Concorde Front for xmas and new year and had an absolutely fantastic time. The food is very good, with great choices and served hot. All the staff are friendly and cannot do enough for you. Although we stayed at the main hotel, we went to the sports part and would gladly stay there in the furure. Only downside I could find, and this is being very pickie, is the main pool was freezing, although there is another 2 pools that are heated, so guess should not moan really...lol...just lazy to walk thereand the sea is lovely and warm with great snorkelling....Would highly recommend this hotel and have just booked again for this year.

" fantastic holiday "

when we arrived we were disappointed to find out we were in the sports hotel, but our disappointment was quickly diminished. food was fantastic with plenty of choice, staff were cheerful and helpful and they made u feel like u had known them 4 years. its such a shame english people are not like this. the day after we returned we booked to go again in 2010 for our honeymoon as i have travelled to a few places but nothing compares to this hotel. we never ventured out the complex as everything was in the complex that u needed. i would highly recommmend this hotel to anybody.

Advice: dogs danglers

Activities: everything in the complex

" What a disappointment "

Booked last minute without brochure but was not told that this was a two centre hotel. Got sports rooms which were OK but much too far from beach. Main hotel looked wonderful. Alcohol undrinkable, food selection limited but quality OK. First Choice still advertise ground floor for their clients, we got first floor with double beds not twins. Sports hall rooms overlooked runway - fabulous for plane spotters but otherwise awful. Entertainment really, really naff. Staff disinterested until guests last day when they fawned over everyone expecting a hefty tip (but you have to meet them outside as taking tips is against hotel policy but they all do it). Soon as tip paid, they immediately become totally disinterested again.
Best part was pool bar and staff and experiencing the Red Sea. Would go back to Red Sea but from Israel or Jordan.
Worst part was experiencing First Choice's total lack of customer service or concern that so many things were wrong for us (and 4 other couples - all felt duped at not being told about not being in main hotel). Wont use them again.

Advice: Dont go to Concorde unless you are guaranteed the main hotel

Activities: Only decent meal of holiday was in Hard Rock Cafe - in Naama Bay. Excellent quality and value

" FANTASTIC STAY!!!!!!! "

I cannot understand how anyone can give this hotel a bad review me and my family stayed here over the christmas period and found our stay fantastic. The greeting on arrival was fantastic bag taken to your room and the room was up to a 5 star standard. The hotel itself had the best facilities private beach, several restaurants and waiters topping up your drinks round the pool and beach. we dont normally opt for all inclusive as it can be repetitive but i must say for the amount of guests the hotel catered for the food was great. Pizza's on request cooked in front of you! you had the choice to try international food or boring chips and pizza. Definately try the bbq on the beach for lunch! One thing i would reccomend is quad biking is was fantastic we went through the desert watched the sunset and travelled back it was cheap and an amazing experience and you can buy a dvd and watch the experience all over again. The only thing that let the hotel down was on new years eve the gala that is not inc in the price, the entertainment wasn't very interesting and the food wasn't too good but we ordered room service at 12pm and that was great. BRILLIANT HOTEL, BRILLIANT LOCATION AND BRILLIANT WEATHER. just watch out for the locals in the town they can be very persistent in trying to get you in their shops if you say NO firmly you'll be fine!!!

" Best hol yet! "

My boyfriend and I had not been 2 egypt before so did not know what 2 expect and after readin reviews about gettin D&V this did concern us. However neither of us fell ill as the food at the concorde sport was brilliant - well cooked and mostly had a lot of choice. The concorde sport is the smaller sister hotel of concorde el salam but we prefered it bein smaller as it was more quiet and personable. The staff are lovely & there is lots of facilities 2 use inc even an ice rink! The best shop in the near by Naama Bay is called Aladin as the owner does not pester you & there is a lot high quality hand made souvieners. Enjoy your hols!

" A lovely holiday "

Just had a lovely week at the Sport Hotel. I would agree the lower hotel site is a better choice as closer to beach and away from airport. Staff were wonderful - very helpful indeed. They even gave us our towel cards back after checking out, so we could enjoy our last day! Food not always hot - but a reasonable selection and a great choice of pastries in the morning. The Egyptian night meal was lovely. You can visit all restaurants for breakfast or lunch and only your own restaurant for your evening meal. If you love horseriding - you'll love the stables - horses are so well looked after. Snorkelling off the beach is a must - I would recommend going to the Hilton pontoon instead - there is more room towards the left hand side of the coast to swim and see everything.

" Disappointing "

13 of us went to the Concorde el salam to celebrate my 40th, it was recommended to me as being 5 star and an ideal holiday. 8 out of the 13 of us were ill with sickness aswell as upset tummy. Rammi the rep was great and sorted out some tablets for my husband but the rest of the family suffered with a bad tummy. The hygiene was appalling in the two weeks we were there I did not see a table wiped and tables piled up around us as they did not have enough staff the clear used crockery and cutlery away before the next lot of guests arrived to eat. the food was very repetitive and I would advise just choosing food that can be cooked infront of you. Every other day I had to ring room service for towels as they did not seem to be able to keep up with the washing of them. Me and my husband made a formal complaint to the manager about the hygiene and the poor service at meal times. Had to wait ages for drinks 20 mins at a time and the drinks were awful all inclusive. Cocktails, water and cappicinos had to be paid for and it was expensive.
The pool area was fine and the guys could not do enough for you but of course they are heavily tipped for sunbeds and towels to be laid out. The maintenance in the gardens and surrounding pools was fantastic and very picturesque but the work really needs to be done in the food area I got annoyed at having to hunt down clean Knifes and forks.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone as it was whilst we stayed there I was frightened to eat at meal times.

" I have just returned home after a... "

I have just returned home after a week at the concord with my family, we had a great time the hotel is spotless the food is good with lots of choice. The main pool was lovely and we also had a small pool out side our room, but you had to get up at about six thirty to get a sun bed. I was a bit disappointed with the all inclusive which ended at 11pm If you did not have your lunch before 3 then you have to pay for it, the all inclusive starts again at 7 for your evening meal. Some evenings there was a beach party which started at 11pm which meant that you had to buy your own drinks which were not cheap. I was told by first choice that it was a family hotel but I found this not to be the case my two sons 14 and 10 and my grand daughter 8 were part of a handful of children with nothing much for them to do. We went across to the sport side which was no way as nice as the main part.
The staff were nice and friendly.
The weather was very hot day and night.
And thankfully no stomach upsets.

" We arrived back from Egypt last week.... "

We arrived back from Egypt last week.
After reading reviews on this hotel I was quite worried about the hotel, mainly the food but I had nothing to worry about.
The rooms were spacious, well air conditioned and very clean.
A wide variety of food was available at the main restaurant and was generally very good.
The pool bar was great, the staff are great fun and very attentive, the food served at lunchtime was basic but tasty.
The italian restaurant was nice for a change at lunchtime with a good view of the sea.
The animation team kept us entertained during the day and performed some good shows at night.
The evening entertainment was not that great but not offensive.
Overall I was very impressed with the hotel and I can't wait to go back.
