Concorde El Salam Hotel Sharm El Sheikh Reviews
" This was our first visit to Sinai and... "

This was our first visit to Sinai and we were offered a very good deal via Latedeals at this hotel.
Our hopes of an excellent holiday were mostly exceeded at the Concorde: good location, lovely grounds and pool, the rooms were nice, plenty of sunbeds, good food, friendly staff. The beach bar was particularly good, serving drinks all day until 7pm and a barbeque lunch from 1 - 3pm.
There did not appear to be many (if any) Germans at the hotel - thank God - and the Russians who were there mostly kept themselves to themselves, apart from a gang of four who got arrested for helping themselves to others' belongings!
On the minus side the cleaning of our bathroom left something to be desired and clearly the shower curtain had not been washed for some time, which we found unpleasant, not least unhygienic. Both the sink and bathroom plugs repeatedly jammed shut.
However, our complaints were dealt with courteously and quickly and the hotel manager and restaurant manager were both very charming.
Overall, a very enjoyable stay, and the hotel is but 10 minutes from the airport however you do not get any noise due to the constant east to west wind direction.
We had two evening trips into Naama Bay (the Concorde runs a courtesy bus 4 times a day) and would certainly never book to stay there unless we wanted what could only be described as Blackpool meets Ayia Napa!
Would definitely recommend Concorde el Salam and would love to go back sometime.

Everything about this hotel was 1st class. The only down side was having to buy water (which is cheaper in the shops just outside the hotel). The staff can’t do enough for you, always wanting to please(without having to tip them!) The spirits are a local brand so if I advise to take your own if you are particular (in my case Smirnoff)the wine and beer are ok. Food was excellent, great variety and plenty of it. I have just booked again to return here in November(hope it’s as good as last time).

On arrival at Sharm airport it was apparent that there is absolutely no organisation, it took nearly 1 1/2 hours for our luggage to arrive on the belt, and a member of staff did offer to help but only for money! Outside was just as bad as the coach driver asked for money to put your luggage on the bus! (A not so polite no did the trick!) At this point we were a little worried as to what we had let ourselves in for. But after a short transfer from the airport we arrived at our hotel to find it awesome, the lobby was certainly impressive and the reception staff extremely helpful, although we did have to find our own room, which as the grounds are so large we got lost more than a couple of times. The porter brought our luggage to the room and he accepted sterling for a tip.
The room was large and clean, with satellite TV, fridge and air conditioning. The views over the gardens and pool were also impressive.
The pool was cold, but a welcome respite in the midday heat, with plenty of sun beds - however to get the better spots you need to put your towels down quite early.
We were all inclusive and never went hungry, every meal gave us plenty of choice whether we ate in the main restaurant, poolside, beach bar or Lebanese. We also found that a few tips to the waiters ensured what I can only describe as "the royal treatment". (Be warned to pack your tummy settlers as the food is very rich and there were a few people with upset stomachs - although this did not stop us eating!).
Across the road is the second part of the hotel and sports complex with dolphin shows due to start the day we left although we were able to swim with them, horse riding and a ice skating rink.
The hotel is mainly adult focused although they do have a kids club.
All in all a fantastic holiday, can’t wait to go back next year but next time I will remember to take mosquito repellent!
If you have never travelled to Sharm before be advised that most things are paid for in American dollars.
