" We, like other people on this site,... "

We, like other people on this site, were wary about Egypt, but should not have worried. The hotel was fantastic, the food great and the staff brilliant.

The flight however was delayed 24 hours, so we felt really disappointed when we saw how much we had missed in our lost day. When we arrived at our resort the rep said it was our turn to be delayed, apparently once a fortnight flights to Sharm are delayed.

Having said that, when we got home we had such a great time we rebooked for April and October, with another tour operator, and can't wait to get back and snorkel in that beautiful sea and have lunch in the Italian restaurant overlooking the Red Sea (free at lunchtime when all inclusive).

" Fantastic hotel, loved every minute... "

Fantastic hotel, loved every minute of 7 days i spend there.
Wish I could have stayed longer.

Brilliant facilities, very clean and tidy, food excellent and plenty of choice. staff extremely friendly, went out of there way to please there guests in every possible way.
I particularly enjoyed the choice of daily activities on offer, my favourite being the huge range of water sports.

I would like to add that I work for Going Places- travel agency, and have booked many clients to this hotel and have all had a equally fantastic experience!!! (Not 1 complaint).

" One of the best holidays myself and... "

One of the best holidays myself and my husband have had.
Got through the airport in record time.

Arrived at the hotel and the staff could not do enough for you, nothing was too much trouble.
Bedroom was lovely, sea view from back and front, plenty of space to relax.

Infinity pool was out of this world, has to be seen to be believed, although a little chilly when you first get in. Always plenty of room around the pool.

Food in main restaurant was excellent, waiter looked after us for the fortnight very well, he always kept us the same table, and drinks were always ready for us.

The whole complex was so clean and everyone was so kind and helpful.

We certainly did not want to come home, in fact we had already booked to go to a different country this year before our visit to the Concorde but on our return we went straight to the travel agent and changed our holiday to go back to Concorde.

Recommend the coach trip to Cairo, although you are travelling for almost 24hours you get a real taste for the real Egypt. The pyramids are out of the world, they take your breath away.

The whole holiday was excellent!!

We certainly recommend this hotel and resort to anyone.

Airtours also provide a excellent service to all their guests.

" Not knowing exactly what to expect I... "

Not knowing exactly what to expect I can honestly say that this resort exceeded all of my expectations.

The Concorde resort is a well established self-contained complex in beautiful landscaped grounds which offers everything you would need for a perfect holiday. In fact, apart from a walk across the road to the small supermarket, we never left the complex. Food, service, cleanliness, facilities, everything even the weather (30+) was perfect.

The "animation" staff do an excellent job in providing entertainment for all who want it. This covers games of "Boccia?" (boules) on the beach which was addictive and an excellent way to meet other guests, stretching and belly-dance lessons which attracted all the best bikinis on the beach!! Live shows in the evening and kids club activities. Little Anna, of the animation team, was superb and always smiling and won my heart instantly.

The beach, though small, is excellent for snorkelling from the floating pontoons provided. There are over 250 species of fish to see and every one is a work of art. Sadly, though the life-guards do an excellent job in policing the coral it was all too common to see the more ignorant guests standing on the reefs and destroying coral which takes 40 years to grow just one centimetre.

Shoes are recommended for the beach as it is crushed rock and can be quite sharp. Also, it is quite a steep descent from the hotel down to the sea which may be a problem for some.

I only took one excursion which was the boat/snorkel trip to nearby Tirhana island which included lunch/drinks and equipment hire for just £20. An excellent opportunity to see some of the more unspoilt reefs and even try a beginner dive to about 25 ft. for only £10 !! but you need to be a confident swimmer as the boat may drop you about 100m from the reef and on the day I went the sea was quite rough.

I would not hesitate to recommend this resort to all as there is relaxation or sport for all. Also, the security is very tight so forget about past events.

Already looking to book a return trip.

" What can I say, me and my partner... "

What can I say, me and my partner were there for 1 week of total chill out and that is what we had.

From arriving to leaving the hotel we were treated like Royalty.

The hotel was fabulous and very clean a little touch up here and there needed but only cosmetic.

The staff (bar, waiter, cleaner receptionist) were first class.

The food was ok and let's put it this way you wouldn't starve and there was plenty of variety at all meals.

We were not too impressed with the onsite Italian restaurant where you got 40% discount on your food and drink if AI but it was free on Sundays.

The pool areas were kept clean and tidy.

You were able to walk across the road to the sister hotel (concorde sports) and use their facilities and eat there as well.

Naama Bay we went one night and the bars were a big rip off!!! a vodka and mixer and wine and soda set us back £9 sterling and the measure was less than the British pub measure.

We found a great Indians there in the hotel Camel I think it was called on the main street.

All in all we will be back to the Cocorde in the not to distant future, I hope this review helps make up peoples minds.

Incidentally I live in the Canary Islands and can honestly say the CANARIANS need a good wake up call in how to treat holiday makers.......The EGYPTIANS were fantastic and curteous.

" Quite worried about the airport after... "

Quite worried about the airport after reading negative reports about the airport but after landing we declined buying a visa not trouble at all. From landing it took less than half an hour to be sat on the bus waiting to go the 20 mins to the hotel. from landing to our first drink in the hotel it was only one and a half hours. The food was all top class service couldn’t be bettered. All the staff went out of their way to help. Russian etiquette quite different to ours but you are on holiday.

The diving is out of the world it was like snorkelling in a aquarium. The only complaint I had was the stinginess of the guests to the staff I gave a dollar tip which is about 50p and that made sure that I was looked after all the time Definitely recommend it. Got back yesterday will book up tomorrow. excuse the spelling.

" I was concerned about our hotel after... "

I was concerned about our hotel after reading mixed reviews before our holiday but can honestly say we couldn’t have asked for a better one.

Upon arrival the restaurant staff stayed late & laid on a 3 course meal for us due to being delayed.

Our room was beautiful, we were right on the beach front (ground floor) with our own patio & garden area, the views were simply out of this world just sea for miles. Our bathroom was kitted out with just about everything from shampoo to a sewing kit & our bed was massive, rooms are cleaned every day & if you tip you're given some beautiful towel art.

The food was excellent with a wide variety for breakfast, lunch & dinner ranging from chips to veal & fresh fish, also about 20 different types of desert to choose from!, snacks were available at the pool side bar including crisps & ice cream.

The staff were wonderful especially Gomma, Ibrahim & Shaben working at the poolside bar, everyone made us feel special.

We chose to do our trips with First Choice. We went snorkelling in Ras Mohammed which was amazing, on a trip to St. Catherine’s Monastery to see the burning bush & the 2 day trip to Cairo which I would highly recommend the coach trip is very bearable, fully air conditioned with even a DVD player. The 1 day flight trip is meant to be like a whistle stop tour.

We did however go quad biking with a rep from the beach which was also amazing, we got to ride a camel, visit echo mountain & see the sun rise. Doing it in the morning meant it was nice & cool as temperatures stay in the late 30's even at night.

We did visit Naama bay 3 times whilst there, which I would also recommend, there are lots of shops selling just about everything & good quality restaurants that are very cheap. We used the hotels courtesy bus which runs through the day & at night.

I would also like to praise the reps that First choice use to run their trips, Wallead is the best rep I have ever met.

We are a young couple who really enjoyed a 5 star holiday, which we would recommend to anyone of any age even after the recent terrible events, we made friends there with an elderly couple & a family who also thoroughly enjoyed their stay. We plan to go back soon.
" 1st note for parents- at both the... "

1st note for parents- at both the main pool and the sports pool we were told that t-shirts are not permitted in the pool.

My daughter is fair skinned and despite wearing factor 30, was starting to burn so I said she needed to wear a t-shirt to protect her skin. They gave us 4 different reasons, 1) it blocks the filters, 2) its unhygienic 3) Other guests had complained and 4) its a rule from the ministry of health.... which is strange because we spoke to people from other hotels and they said they had no problems. They said you are allowed to wear the proper swimwear t-shirts made of lycra which we could purchase from a shop in Naama bay, which is a taxi ride away (This was an extra cost that we had not accounted for) However we discovered that football shirts were 100% polyester, the same as our friends 100% polyester bikini and when we showed the manager the labels on the bikini and the football shirt he could not really say anything. This sounds really petty but it was really annoying because we felt they were just being awkward. So just be prepared and then you wont have to worry. Either take a football shirt or something 100% polyester/lycra or smother the children in factor 50 or total sun block to they don’t get burnt in the first place!

2nd note for parents. My daughter aged 8 and her friend aged 7 went to the kid’s playground and actually escaped out of the security gate and were asked if they wanted a taxi!! I did not let her out of my sight after that except with the kids club lady who was very nice.

Notes for everyone

1) We were on the ground floor right on the sea front and 3 times we came back to the room and the patio door had been opened, there are safety chains which stopped anyone getting in but it was still a worry. The security manager was very good and arranged for extra security and door was wedged with a piece of wood. They did offer us another room on the second floor but my boyfriend demonstrated from the balcony how the door could be shaken open from the outside and the lock even fell out! We stayed with the room we had because at least it had a safety chain. Just be warned…don’t take your best jewellery and keep everything locked in the safe.

2) If you are bartering in the shops keep your wits about you and check that you have got everything in the carrier bag when you leave. We were upset when we got back to the hotel and found out that we had paid for 3 t-shirts and only got 2 in the bag. Somehow the shop assistant had taken one of them out right in front of our eyes. It may have been an error but we felt conned. To add insult to injury he even had the cheek to ask for a tip as well so I’m glad I only gave him a pound!

Apart from all the above moans the Hotel is lovely and clean, the staff are FANTASTIC, all the guys in the restaurant and pool bar were brilliant and really looked after us. They always did their best to get us a table outside for the entertainment. I think they like the English as we are nice and polite to them. The animation team are all stunning and their washboard stomachs are an inspiration during “water gym”. The snorkelling is out of this world and really made the holiday memorable. If you want to do a trip, there is a company based at the hotel that does boat trips, quad bikes etc and they gave better value for money than the holiday companies trips.

Hope you find this useful!

" Last year I visited Sharm El Sheikh... "

Last year I visited Sharm El Sheikh with my mum for the first time. We stayed in the Hilton Sharks Bay hotel and had an absolutely amazing time. When my boyfriend and I decided that we would go again this year and chose the Concorde, I was a little apprehensive that I would not enjoy it as much. I am glad to say, however, that I was wrong! The Concorde is a really impressive hotel and set in fabulous surroundings. It is located about a ten minute drive away from the main hotel resorts in Naama Bay - I actually think this is a good thing. There are numerous shuttle buses that run to the centre so you are never too far away. The other great advantage is that the time it takes from the airport is only about ten minutes - much needed after the hectic ness of the airport! (it took us about two hours to get our luggage). Once you arrive at the hotel, you check-in to get your all-inclusive band and then you are free to roam and explore!

The staff at the Concorde are so friendly, even if you don’t tip them they go out of their way to help you! The weather is fantastic all year round and the sea is beautiful.
I had read reviews that the swimming pools, of which there are four, are absolutely freezing but I didn’t find them too bad. In fact they are quite refreshing after lying in the sun drinking cocktails! You must try the special fruit punches, they are delicious and I am still trying to find the ingredients here so that I can recreate them!!

We did several trips whilst we were out there. We went quad biking in the desert, which is brilliant fun. We chose to go at sunset, in a small group with a guide - it was beautiful. We also hired our own private boat and went scuba diving and snorkelling from there. The boat took us to Tiran Island - this is where we did our introductory dive. A word of warning, the currents there are quite strong, so be careful! (Last year we did an intro dive around the bay by the hotel, which I preferred.) The boat trip was great value, all our drinks and food were included and we had free reign of the boat. We even saw a massive group of beluga whales, which was amazing!

The all-inclusive plan at this hotel is great value and I would recommend taking it up - all drinks and meals are included as standard and the food is really good. There are massive buffets to choose from so you can have something different every day. We had family staying at the Hyatt Regency on a bed and breakfast basis and we went there a couple of times to join them for dinner. They presented us with similar food to our hotel (ours was much nicer) and we had to pay a fortune for it! Much better to stay in this hotel if you are on a budget - that way you can afford to spend money on the trips that the hotels organise...

The rooms are massive! We had a huge double bed and probably could have fitted another one in there too! The bathrooms are of really good size and very clean too.

We did not really check out the evening entertainment but it looked like it was quite holiday- camp-esque! The kids there seemed to enjoy it though!

All in all I would say that this is a very good all rounder! Great for kids, but just as good for couples and older people too.

I wanted to write this review in the aftermath of the awful bombings that occurred in Sharm last month. The resort really is gorgeous and I would urge people to carry on visiting - the locals are all lovely people and they need our help in getting things back to normal. I will definitely be returning, in fact I am planning it already! :-)

" The Concorde is set in a line of... "

The Concorde is set in a line of several hotels that, to be honest, are more like mini villages. Sculpted out of a desert, the hotel faces onto a rocky beach and has accommodation basically comprising apartments.
The rooms were very comfortable, with small balconies and comprehensive facilities, and although we were at the end further from the beach, it was still just five minutes walk away, as was everything within the resort including a massive but disappointingly empty sports complex.
Sports on offer include football, tennis, squash, various watersports and other random thing like yoga, and they have several outdoor pools as well as a heated indoor one. Unfortunately, unlike other all-inclusive hotels I have stayed at, there is very little in the way of organised activities, such as football matches or tennis tournaments, with the onus overwhelmingly on the visitor to organise these themselves. They do have two very nice games rooms with pool and table football as well as a sauna a gym attached, but these were often full until late at night and again there was little organised involving them.
The food was of very high quality, as you’d expect, and offered a good range of choices to satisfy everyone. However, unlike other all inclusive resorts, there was no food on offer between meals (eg ice creams or fruit), which I found a little strange and often inconvenient.
Drinks were included only up until 11 pm, at which point you had to pay high prices for them, and they were in general cheap local spirits and beer, which while palatable, made you long for the more expensive international names that were not always included.
The tour operator offered various trips our including visits to the local towns and trips out around islands on a boat, both of which were very good fun. They also organised a quad biking trip into the desert, which again I would recommend as it shows a whole different side to a country that remains vastly poor and barren. I have my doubts about the "genuine Bedouin tribe" who had electric lighting along with the obligatory camels, and for whom tour guides organised whip-rounds at every opportunity.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but I feel that the resort has some work to do before genuinely reaching the level of other all inclusive resorts.
" My partner and I spent 1 week at the... "

My partner and I spent 1 week at the Concorde hotel.....it was fantastic!!
The staff were so friendly and polite, they just could not do enough for you, especially shimir at the beach bar, he made our holiday really special and even came looking for us to say goodbye on our last day.

The rooms were spotless and cleaned everyday with wonderful towel arrangements on the bed...I couldn’t wait to get back to the room each day to see what was lay on the bed.

The food was great too, lots of choice, and always varied. The deserts are just wonderful !!

There was a great nightclub downstairs with a good cabaret show on every night.

The snorkelling was unbelievable, I have never seen so many beautiful fish.

we found the location great as we do not like a lot of hustle and bustle, but if you are looking for the nightlife, you may feel a bit cut off. Although they do run shuttle busses into Naama Bay and taxis are very cheap. We did not like Naama Bay at all, great to see, but I was quite ready to leave after a couple of hours.

The only thing I can truly say that lets the hotel down is the entertainment.....although the couple that play music and sing are great, after a few days it gets a bit boring.....it does need to be a bit more exciting.

All in all though, we had a fantastic time and tried to re-book for Xmas this year, but cannot get into that hotel....which is a shame as I would recommend this hotel to anyone without hesitation. Hope you have as good a holiday as we did.

" As others have stated the airport is... "

As others have stated the airport is a nightmare and after the first hour of hanging around in it to get out and fighting off the shot-putting Russians who have no idea what a queue is. I was all prepared to get the next flight home. But don’t let it deter you.

I went in a group of four and had a fantastic time from start to finish, we ventured into Sharm old town and Naama and even got into the spirit of haggling for everything (wait till I try it in Asda’s).

Snorkelling and quad bike trips are excellent value for money. It took us three days to spend £8 and £6 was for taxi’s to and from Naama.

The staff in and around the hotel are spot on, helpful and courteous but not ingratiating.

Local beer is good, but spirits leave a lot to be desired, food was excellent and hygiene was top class.

Such a good holiday we have only been back two days and are looking to book for next year to the same place.

Don’t forget your snorkel, my friend who doesn’t enjoy putting her face into water was so hooked she can’t wait to go back. If you’re intending on using an underwater camera get one with a flash it enhances the colours which are very vivid.

Only the airport lets down the holiday(they couldn’t organise a p... Up in a brewery) and Sharm/Naama itself is GREAT

" The resort was out of this world.... "

The resort was out of this world. Super for snorkelling and scuba diving. There was lots to do in the day including camel riding, water sports, quad biking through the desert, tea in the desert with the bedwin people in the tents, swimming with dolphins even ice skating! I stayed at Sharks bay with two female friends and there was not a lot for us to do in the evenings. We ventured into Naama bay most nights (about £3-4 in a taxi). Here there are lots of shops, bars, restaurants and clubs and is worth visiting. Currently there are not a lot of English people in Sharm and if you hate Russians it is not the place for you.

The hotel had fantastic facilities but the AI drinks are restricted and there are set meal times. The best thing I did was quad biking and you must smoke a shisha pipe to experience the full culture. The men love the British women so prepare for many marriage proposals ladies. Overall an outstanding resort, the hotel was superb for things to do in the day however not quite a 5 star.

" An absolutely wonderful holiday. The... "

An absolutely wonderful holiday. The hotel was fantastic and the food was varied and well presented. The live cooking stations were great and you had a choice of using the restaurant at lunch or staying by the beach and having a barbecue. The hotel rooms were large and very clean and had all the amenities you needed. They were cleaned on a daily basis and fresh linen and towels were provided daily.

The only down side was that the private beach was mostly for diving and snorkelling. There was not much access if you just wanted to paddle. But on the whole it was marvellous. The staff were extremely friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Tipping is forbidden by the management so you got very little hassle.

I would recommend this hotel to adults travelling alone as it is the perfect relaxing get away. The overall holiday was just perfect.

" On our arrival at Sharm Sheikh... "

On our arrival at Sharm Sheikh Airport I can only describe the arrivals hall as total chaos!. Firstly you have to queue to obtain a visa. On the Plane we were informed that the visa would cost £10 but in the airport we were asked for £15 each!
Later into our holiday we were informed that visas were only required if you were travelling to Cairo and not for Sharm Sheikh which is only 10 minutes from the airport. In total it took us 3 hours from getting into the airport terminal to our coach leaving for the hotel. The airport is under major construction and basically they cannot cope, it is utter chaos. After a 5.50 hour flight and 3 hours getting through the airport we were exhausted.

The Hotel Concorde El Salam is an excellent hotel complex I would certainly stay there again. Good Food, but we unfortunately had bad stomachs after the second day, take plenty of stomach medication with you. You can buy from a small supermarket across the road from the complex, but the pharmacist ran out of stomach medication!!.

The hotel had very nice rooms.

This is a perfect location for a totally relaxing holiday, take
plenty of good books and magazines with you as you cannot buy anything when you get there.

Fantastic weather in November.

The swimming and snorkelling in the Red Sea was fantastic and I can certainly see the attraction for all the divers.
I have snorkelled on the Barrier Reef in Australia, but the fish in the Red Sea were very impressive! FANTASTIC.

I would have no hesitation in recommending anybody to stay at this complex, but I would not recommend the horrendous experience that the Airport brings.

Our holiday Rep said it was not as bad travelling back for England, she was very WRONG!!!.
