At first we were worried about building works, but thankfully they were not happening in the main part of the apartments. It was on a new block and did not bother us. Then we were worried about the lack of snow and it was justified; Prato Nevoso hardly had any snow for the whole of the season!!! I think it snowed once in December and then once again in March. So the resort is kept open with one blue run and one red run, with artificial snow. The first few days were fine, but then it got completely boring. We got speaking to another family and they told us they came the year before and the snow was excellent and every run was open. Just last season was dreadful.
The apartments are nice and spacious. The brochure states 'ski to door' but you have to go via a red run for this, so only any good for competent skiers. Otherwise you will need to rent lockers at the bottom of the mountain, so you can walk back to the apartments. We have two children and we went with another family who have one child and we never had any issues, except the surrounding restaurants can be quite expensive.
Now would I recommend it - yes, if the snow is there, and the prices are similar to what we paid last year; then this resort is excellent value for money. We had the whole package; ski lessons, ski equipment hire, apartment, flights and transfers. Just pray the snow comes!
