" A group of 9 of us went for Christmas... "
Submitted By: Mrs Jenny Marshfield
A group of 9 of us went for Christmas and we had a really good holiday. Good hotel, very clean and warm. Plenty of food although some fruit would have been nice at breakfast. The bedrooms are a good size however our bathroom was quite small. Shower cubical small but plenty of hot water and a decent powerful shower.
Staff friendly and helpful. In the brochure, this hotel was quoted as a ski to door. We couldn't - not from lack of snow, but you have to walk across a car park and then up a small incline to be able to ski down to ski school and lifts, doing this in ski boots, carrying skis and poles made this quite a chore.
The ski school was fantastic. The slopes in Pila are beautiful, really wide and long. Lots of red and blue runs to keep you busy. Our instructors looked after us really well and we accomplished much more than we thought we would! Luca and Eddie were brilliant!. Some of our party went off for a couple of days with the Thomson Reps on Ranger days, this was free of charge and well worth the experience if you don't want to do ski school every morning.
When leaving the hotel as we had an early flight, we were told breakfast would be at 4.30am, this was left in the lobby, in a paper bag, consisting of a cheese and ham roll, an apple, bottle of water and a chocolate bar. Not really worth getting up at 4am. Luckily the coffee/chocolate/tea machine was left on in the dining room, which we all made use of! This is a lovely hotel, very Italian!
Definitely would ski in Pila again.

Stayed in hotel for one week at the beginning of March.
The food was good, in large quantities, but make sure you get there before the locals as some of the better starting dishes on the buffet table vanish pretty quick.
Staff very friendly and approachable when trying to meet the needs of vegetarians. Look out for 'Hidden HAM'. The concept of no meat in a meal in Europe hasn't caught on fully!
The rooms are large, comfortable, and warm. But be aware that the Italians allow their kids to run up and down the corridors.
The hotel is fairly close to the slopes and the slopes are well groomed.
I'll definitely be going back to Pila.

Just returned (5/3/2007). Hotel excellent value.
The staff are very friendly, the food typically Italian, varied and plentiful, and the hotel warm and welcoming.
Some great views from the rooms which all have balconies.
One minor criticism is that after a day's skiing a bath would have been more relaxing than a shower.
The hotel is well positioned for the main gondola and chairlifts to the upper slopes.
Note that we heard a number of criticisms of other hotels in Pila: cold, plain food; so we have no hesitation in recommending the Printemps.

If you are considering going to this hotel, book now.
It is spotlessly clean and has a friendly and warm atmosphere.
The rooms are very large and have excellent views over the Valley.
The only fault - too much food!

Advice: A gem of a resort with short transfer offering plenty of skiing for intermediatesand beginners.
Activities: All of them though Seggovia, Societe and Barack seemed very popular.
Good for: Ski
