Don,t miss out on someones say so, as soon as I get a chance I will Post some pics and You can see for yourself you can see How Happy and having fun by the look on there faces, and just to see them dancing around with the music from the 50's right up to date at your request, for some people they just like to sit in and read or what ever but if you hear the music all you need to do is kick ya feet. LoL!!! This hotel is great for all! I would rate it 10/10

I read the reports from the 2 people who went here in August and I was very aprehensive.
I can honestly say that they didn't stay in the same place as I did!
Tomas, Maria, Anna and Petros made us so welcome. Yes, there were locals in the bar and why not? It's their village. Join in, have fun! If you want to speak to Brits all the time then stay in Britain!
The BBQ night and Maria's Moussaka night were great.
Yes, these are basic Greek apartments, but what do you expect for the price you pay. If you want a 5* hotel then you have to pay for a 5* hotel.
Anyone who is a regular holidaymaker in Greece will truly love this place.

Enf of September/October holiday. Just returned from a great two week holiday at the Anna Maria. Our original holiday in Kriopigi had been cancelled at the last minute and therefore we were relocated to an unknown place. It turned out for us as two weeks in Paradise, my wifes special birthday was celebrated in style. We know that July/August is a busy period and this is the time that Greek people take their holidays, so expect to meet Greek people, what else, go somewhere else if you want to mingle with all Brit's. Will defintitely go back again. By the way Maria is a fantastic cook. Dave Minton

Arrived home after a two week stay at the Anna Maria Apts well satisfied with a great holiday, my wife and I have been holidaying in Greece for the past 30years and this accomodation was typical of what we have experienced. Clean, comfortable and reasonable spacious (we had apt for 4 without under accom charge). Owners great company and willing to assist whatever your request, BBQ night for 10 euro a head, best value ever and not to be missed. We did not use pool but it was spacious and well kept, the bar area high quality and drinks priced reasonably. Read earlier reviews before we went, and now wonder what some of the cribs were about. Would recommend to anyone.

Just spent 2 weeks at he end of August at these apartments. We had a great time. Pool was very nice, would have preferred no music but it was very low and soon didn't notice it. Kids had a great time jumping in and out of the pool all day playing with the owners' son. Drinks weren't cheap but were on a par with the rest of the resort. Food was ok, nothing great but a good filler for the kids. Liked the fact there was a lot of Greek people in the bar, after all we were in Greece! The organised evenings were not really my sort of entertainment but we were on holiday so we went with the flow and had a good time.
The resort isn't the most interesting one I've been to, plenty of tavernas, some good bakeries, enough supermarkets. Beach is very narrow and full so we used the pool more than I expected to, swimming in the sea in the evening looking at the fish was lovely.
The apartments are ok, we were on the first floor. It was quiet apart from the air-conditioning units at night.
The kitchen supplies were minimal I wouldn't expect to do any cooking here, we only used it for drinks, making simple snacks etc.
Very clean, lots of towels supplied, a good shower that didn't appear to run out of hot water (it was over 30 degrees everyday though.)
I'd recommend these apartments, they're not luxurious but we got what we paid for.

Anna, Petros, Thomas and Maria are all hard working family people, not servants as it seems some people expect, it's a nice laid back place (not too much...like Spain) and you can get everything you would expect from an apartment complex. (Remember, it's not a hotel).
The bar area is very popular amongst regular visitors, ex-pats and some locals, which is great for mixing and meeting different people...it's often busier than some of the seafront bars and can be quite loud sometimes... so join in or take ear-plugs if you're going to be an old fogey! There's plenty of older people there that love it. This is an honest review, nothing's perfect, just go with the flow and you'll love it.

Myself and mu husband visited the Anna Maria Apartments in August and i have to say it was an experiance to say the least. If you want to spend your holiday surround by the locals and the owners friends then your wish will be granted. The Pool is nice when the locals arnt taking over it but rest assured it is not pieceful at all. The pool is only big enough for the guests not the none residents.
The owners have there friends over every evening which makes you feel like a spare part so we didnt bother having a drink at the bar as we felt so uncomfortable.
The greek evening was full of there friends who basically took over the place and constantly mithered you to join in the very boring dancing going round and round the pool kicking your leg out.
We returned one evening arounnd 9 o'clock to find 25 none residents eating and drinking with the owners around the tables they had put together to be told no drinks were being served as they were entertaining, How rude they were!!
If you leave the hotel and go to the main road and turn right for about 15 mins walk there is a lovely little beach and beach bar that isnt crowded like the main beach and the staff at the bar are lovely.
We will certainly not be returning to the Anna Maria as the rooms were tatty and only a bed, you can not cook a scrap of a meal in the measly kitchen you get in the room. Your balcony looks onto a wall which is 2 foot away from you and watch the sprinklers they put on every morning as you get soaked eating your breakfast.
The thomas cook rep lives at the apartments so any problems you can report to her (She is very nice). I got the feeling that the locals taking over the place was something she had heard many many times.
Certainly not what i would expect from Thomas cook and i would rate this very basic place as a 2 star apartment.

Do not stay at the Anna Maria Apartments unless you want to play 2nd class citizen to the non-residents that flock there daily! These people take all the sunbeds and drive the residents away from the pool!
The hotel management did not clean the pool; it was left to guests using the pool to clean daily. My young daughter got glass in her foot and in her hand during her stay on separate occasions.
We had to keep taking our daughter out of the pool because the teenage none residents were diving in, deflating the children’s floats and making it unsafe for young and weaker swimmers, not to mention very wet for the sunbathers around the pool, the hotel management made no attempts to control situations.
The BBQ was good value ten euro’s per adult (we didn’t get charged the child fee for our daughter) but we were continually pestered to join in the Greek dancing which spoilt the evening for us.
The rooms are basic but very clean although poorly maintained.
One good point - if you ask the management for a t.v/kettle/toaster they are provided foc.
We have stayed in Halkidiki previously but the Anna Maria was certainly an experience.
Pefkhori had changed a lot since our last visit almost 10 years ago, but we found not as suitable for young families as other Greek/Spanish Islands we've visited.
We would recommend eating at Eliza if you have young children – Heather (waitress) was a dream and managed to get our young daughter eating again after refusing to eat anything for the best part of the first week.
The rep – Onya was pleasant and friendly but her knowledge of the resort was basic.
Weather was lovely and hot as you’d expect for August.

I read a few mixed reviews of these apartments before I stayed at the Anna Maria. I have to say that these apartments, though basic, are extremely well thought out, clean and comfortable - in fact they were quite spacious in comparision with some accommodation I have stayed in on the Greek Islands! The pool is lovely as are the flowers around the apartments. The food served at the bar is delicious - and for you people who can't do without your big breakfast - well that's on the menu along with some other favourites as well as some lovely Greek treats too! Bar-B-Que night is a fantastic night - not to be missed! The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and relaxing. I have to say that we also found our rep Onya to be really nice and helpful too.
We will be back next year!!!

We have just returned from the Anna Maria Apartments. had a pretty nice week there. Read most of the reviews before we went away and tried not to judge before we got there. On arrival very helpful and friendly. The young lad (Christos I think) took our cases and showed us the basics of the room. The rooms ARE fitted with air conditioning now at a cost of 5 euros a day. We only had a couple of days as it didnt make that much difference to be honest. You could also rent a small fan for 5 euros a week but we didnt bother.
As others have said the rooms are pretty basic. Dont expect to do much cooking in there, just a basic sink with couple of cooker rings, fridge and a few cupboards. Few utensils and a chopping board. We just used ours to have breakfast in and had melon and yoghurt which was pretty easy to do. There are small kettles which boil enough water for 2 mugs so its ok if there is only 2 of you. The maid only visited us once so they were not cleaned every day.
The rooms themselves well to be fair they needed a bit of a tart up. Ours needed a lick of paint, and the bathroom was very small. You could just about get inside and close the door behind you to use the loo. The shower rail was held up by a plug chain screwed into the ceiling too which looked a bit unsightly. Its a shame really because if they just spent a bit more money on the rooms it would make it a faultless holiday. We didnt spend too much time in the room and ate out every night.
The pool area and bar were however excellent, providing nice food and drinks. The drinks were a bit pricey though. There are a number of sunbeds which are nice, the pool is clean and has a jacuzzi in which is also very pleasant. We didnt attend the BBQ or the karaoke night as its not our kind of thing but it seemed in good spirits on our return. As for the resort its a bit like Blackpool down the front, i went here years ago but its changed a lot. There is a small funfair there now and the front is a bit tacky with a number of Eastern Europeans there now. It has lost some of the natural greek beauty and disappointingly so has Hanioti. The beach was busy so we tended to go off to the right as we hit the beach which was much quieter.
As for eating out we recommend Maxims in the town and in the older town by the church Pauls Place the English bar. We are not typical british couples who expect steak and chips when we go away, we just found Pauls place friendly, cheap and good food. Maxims offers greek meals, italian and others. Another good one was on the front, i cant recall the name but its classed as a meat and fish specialist, situated on the corner overlooking the beach. Excellent food, accomodating and reasonable.
Recommend going to the old square though by the church, typically greek with a few restaurants and away from all the business and neon plastic toys for sale on the front.
If we had to sum this holiday up we'd say we enjoyed it but we wouldnt go back to Halkidiki. Its become a bit too touristy now and we'd prefer the traditional older greek towns now that are on offer in other resorts.

stayed at the Anna Maria from 7 Sept 2011 for one week. Apartments basic but clean. If you want more space, pay a little bit extra for a family room - we did and there are only two of us. Balcony was much bigger, so last thing at night we always sat on the balcony and had a night cap! Bar area v well stocked and bar food was of a good standard and reasonably priced. Tomas & Maria the owners couldn't do enough for us and all the other guest that were staying there that week. Swimming pool a good size, but we preferred the beach but that's just personal choice. Best place to eat along the sea front was Balakis - predominately a seafood restaurant, fresh fish at a resonable price, together with excellent service and a perfect sea view. All in all we had a fabulous holiday, oh and the weather was very good too!! FYI: Don't bother booking with Olympic, as cheapest way to do is to fly with Easyjet to Thessolonka and book directly with Anna Maria Apartments, as they will pick you up and take you to the airport completely free of charge. They are also in the process of just finishing off a more upmarket hotel just down the road, will be slightly more expensive, we were taken there one night and it was absolutely beautiful. Big swimming pool, rooms were plush by Greek standards. Stunning bar and seating area. Will be open next year.
