have just got back from 10 nights in club praia de roche, was so concerned by the reviews id read i took allpurpose anti bacteral wipes, but although the rooms were tired looking they were clean we had clean towels every other day the cleaner even left me a teatowel as i kept leaving the dishes to drain on the drainer.the staff were always pleasant and the swimming pool was kept clean,i would have no qualms on going again.

Just got back from these apartments. Most disgusting apartments we've ever stayed in. We never had our sheets changed whilst we were there. As for the maids, all they did was shake the sheets, take the rubbish away and flush the toilet. There was a dead fly in the room, that lay there for the whole week. Everything revolves around monty there. Even the internet was 6 euros per hour. Sun beds was 1 euro a day, but always gone by 9am, so my elderley parents had to lie on towels on the concrete floor around the pool. Pool was disgusting, with bits of chewing gum and even chicken bones, hair bobbles etc in the gulley inside the pool. Plus side it was central, reception staff were pleasant and a lovely beach (sunbeds 5 euros each a day there), but that doesn't make a happy holiday. We never write reviews, as we like to keep an open mind, but felt we needed to this time to warn other people. Jet2, you let us down this time. Don't know how you have the nerve to advetise this as anything but a dump.

Just back from a week at these apartments and I was so worried about going after reading all the bad reviews. I found the staff lovely and so help full. The maid came everyday and we got towels every second day.The apartments are massive compared to other places I have stayed but they are cool no need for fans and weather was very hot when we where there. The pool was great and for people that say it is never cleaned I seen it cleaned every morning .I would def go back to these apartments as they are great for families.

I was very worried after reading the reviews from this hotel. We arrived very late at night and the reception check in was the easiest I have ever encountered just handing over the key to the room. The room was clean and appropriate the only problem was bed number 4 was a pull out from the sofa and it looked like my daughter was sleeping in a drawer - after the first night we removed the mattress and she slept on this on the floor. The maid service was as was promised and even the days they did not clean the room they came to take the rubbish. The only major problem we had was not really the problem of the hotel in that some "funny" person or persons decided it would be funny to throw a melon from one of the balconies above where we were parked which seriously dented our hire car and caused me a lot of stress as the hire car company were a bit of a cowboy outfit (check your hire car agreement carefully) when I reported this to the hotel reception staff they were totally uninterested and told me it was not there problem - working in customer services myself I thought that this was inappropriate even if they could not do anything about this they could have at least shown a courteous amount of interest. At the same time I pointed out to the receptionist that there was a car and 2 motorbikes parked in the disabled space so we could not - these turned out to be staff vehicles and the answer I received was "the motorbike is mine but it is only a motorbike" - well thats okay then you just stay there haha anyway yes we had to hire sunbeds but it does stop people from being greedy with them and we hired a fan and a toaster but the prices were reasonable and it was easy to get my deposit back. I do not think I would go again as it was a good holiday but I would prefer to be somewhere different another time - as for recommending it ~ I would not recommend ever getting a car again and this resort would not be an easy one to stay at without a car so probably not to be honest - there is some graffiti in the public toilet saying ..... was here 2008 and underneath someone else put bet you didnt come back - this made me laugh as although it is okay it is far from the best and I can understand some of the comments although if you want to be shown to your room and have first class treatment just pay a bit (or a lot) more as you really do get what you pay for and this was cheap so what you get it CHEAP.
- Advice: Treat it as it is - a cheap place to put your head and make the most of it

This place is well past it's sell by date and I am amazed that tour operators say their own staff have inspected the apartments. If they were in Britain Health and Safety would have a field day. We were there in May 2011 and were amazed at the state of the place. Apartment 1008 in the Pacifico building is the worst I have ever seen.

Just back from a week here, couple in our mid 20's, the apartments are basic, very clean, hot water all the time and the beds are comfy. I had one (small) problem, the lift was very slow & we were on the 9th floor, it took ages to come! But everything else was ok, do not go to the supermarket at the entrance, it is badly stocked & everything else in it is highly priced, there is one across from Hotel Jupiter, bigger & better value. Def go to the 'La Dolce Vita', (across from the Casino Hotel), the food is fab but the service is very slow but its worth a visit for dinner and also 'Hollywood', its a steakhouse, food is lovely there and for entertainment there are plenty irish bars but my favourites were 'Croke Park' and 'Irelands Eye'.

Me and my boyfriend went for our holiday to portugal, when we arrived at our hotel Club playa da rocha our room was not ready for another hour. We left our luggage and returned an hour later, when we got to reception we were given our key, told what floor it was and left to find it on our own. The room itself was okay but cleanliness could have been better and the balcony doors do not lock also on 1 staircase there was a broken window where the glass could have easliy fallen onto someones balcony, i wouldnt like to think what would happen if there were children in that room. We were full board which ment all meals included, we were told times of meals but what we were not told was that lunch was in a different room than breakfast and dinner, as we were not aware of this we went to the wrong room and missed lunch time, what we didnt know at the time was this had actually done us a favour. When we arrived for dinner later that evening i was shocked the food was awful. The choise was very very limited, the combinations of food were ridiculous, we had chips and warm nuggets, the salad was ok but not always available, the fruit and pudding was limited and there was not alot of it, once something had been eaten it was not replaced with more hot food , it just wasnt avalable to have, we were horrified,as the week went on the food did not get any better it got worse, there was absolutely no choise if your vegetarian. Being full board we thought we wouldnt need to spend money on food, we eneded up spending half our spends on food from the shop around the corner and even went and paid to go out for breakfast, it was the best meal we had there. Also the sun loungers by the pool were 1 euro a day, never have i had to pay for a sun liunger at the hotel im staying at! and even then there were only a few so even if you were willing to pay that wasnt an option, we spent most of our time at the beautiful beach, it beats lieing on your towel on the concrete floor by the pool. I would return to portugal and playa da rocha resort but deffinately not this hotel!!!! take my advise do not pay to stay there especially if you have children the room isnt accomodated for children.
THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT, I WOULD NEVER RETURN NOT EVEN IF SOMEBODY PAID ME!!!!

i know as people may say you get what you pay for but this was terrible within a few days i was ill from the bad food (chicken nuggets, dry cake and chips). Most of the staff were unhelpful and unfriendly to you. The room had mould on the cieling, dirty floors, never cleaned, hard uncomfortable sofa. it also was suppose to be a three bedroom apartment it only had two beds with hair and dirt marks on and a hard small sofa bed not fit for a dog! As soon as i arrived i didnt feel at home and wanted to leave straight away. i made it through the week but was ill for over a month when i got home. I wouldnt recommend this hotel and it definetely shouldnt be 3 stars it should be 1 star! i would stay at Hotel Da Rocha which is a 4 star hotel round the corner from this hotel with great fews of the sea and looks amazing with really good service and modern design. i would also like to say the locals were unfriendly and like to stare at you rudely.

we went on 11th october 2010 all inclusive and found this to be the worst plaace we have ever stayed. the food wasnt worth eatin and couldnt be recognised, the drinks tasted like water and no matter how much we drank we stayed sober as a judge. the service was appauling. we rated 1 and that was for the LOOK of the reception. do not take kids as there is no entertainment at all even though it is advertised. we wanted to come home the day we got there it was that bad. we spoke to quite a lot of people there and their experience of it was the same as ours. we DO NOT recommend this hotel!!!

We a party of 4 (2couples, pensioner's)enjoyed 4 day's all inclusive at this 3 star hotel. We found the accomodation good, new divan bed's. there is a pan, who needs a kettle.Staff were friendly and helpfull. The area was very nice with stunning beaches. Food !! If you are a sausage chips and beans person, you will not care for the very authentic Portugese table, which was excellent to say the least.Sea bass and Monk fish tails, Lamb Chops, etc.Allways a choice, half decent wine, or beer, all for £20 pound a day, I hope the weather is not 2 bad in Feb.as this place is definatly worth a further visit or two, Dave,Anne,Bryan,& Rita

Glad to see some good reviews about theses apartments. We stayed for 2 weeks in September self catering and were very worried by the reviews we read. Yes the furniture is dated, but apartments are clean and spacious, bins emptied everyday, towels changed every other day, and beds were changed 3 times while we were there. We ate out and had take aways, but like to have breakfast in the apartment. We had a microwave, but had a problem at first with the electic cooking rings, when we went to reception they explained how the rings worked. Reception staff were always helpful and polite. We arrived late at night and had no problem booking in and hiring a safe immediately. We enjoyed our holiday and would stay there again as these appartments are in a good location. I do understand why people who go all inclusive complain because there was only one bar open and you have to pay 1 euro a day for sunbeds ,which meant people did not leave their towels on all day while they went elsewhere. The resort itself was lively with plenty of entertainment, food and drink reasonable, drinks were cheaper in the beach bars, beach is clean and was quieter in the coves. For those who like shopping Portamao is only a mile walk away and is more quaint than Praia Da Roche.
