Total chill-out
from SallyandBernard
Do yourself a favour, book yourself an all inclusive week here. We were blown away by the location, standards of service and the genuine friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Martin Rogers, the General Manager made himself available to guests very frequently and it is very clear that he and his staff the Taba Hilton Resort try very successfully to deliver all you could expect and more. Excellent food and lovely rooms-upgrade recommended as good value- guaranteed sea view, towel "sculptures" late check- out, lovely meal at one of the resort's restaurant, dressing gowns etc. Superb service from all but special thanks to Khalifa and Ibrahim at the restaurant and to Tareq at the Pirates Bar who went out of his way to make us feel welcome- even spending some time teaching us some arabic- which seemed really appreciated by all the people we met. The hotel has around 1km of private beach with amazing snorkelling all along, just offshore. We saw an huge array of corals and fish, and were lucky enough to see barracuda, a moray eel and lots of lionfish. The beach was never packed with sunbeds/ hammocks always available- towels provided at the beach- Luxury :o) We are definitely returning here for a break around November. It's worth a walk outside in the border area. If you're worried about security at Taba there is no need- it is VERY well taken care of. Tipping- We brought US dollars but found that the exchange rate was very unfavourable. Bring plenty of Egypt Pounds and tip small amounts frequently. It doesn't add up to an awful lot over the course of a week. If you need to totally relax for a week without any decision making about where to eat, drink etc come here- you will decide to return.

Many thanks for your report on Trip Advisor and I have passed your comments onto the Team Members today (thank you). It is amazing what they can do with the towels in the bedrooms ? When you return in November you will also be able to use the Nelson Restaurant (Tex Mex) on the All Inclusive package as well, which will enable you to dine in three seperate restaurants during your holiday. Glad to see you relaxed during your stay and we look forward in welcoming you back. Martin
Total bliss at Taba
from JustInTheUK
We've just stayed at the Hilton Taba Resort and absolutely loved it. We didn't want to leave. We booked directly through the hotel and found flights via Thomas Cook as a friend over there was picking us up from the airport. Most people are on package deals that include shuttle bus transfers (and negotiations at the several check points between the airport and hotel). Pricewise there probably isn't a lot in it. Our room was fabulous overlooking Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and of course Egypt. The usual Hilton standard and cleaned to perfection each day with cute added extras from the staff. Food was superb. We were (as were most guests) on an all inclusive deal which meant you could dine at the main Palm Garden restaurant and a set menu at the Egyptian themed Marhaba. A la carte menus at the laid back Tex Mex and 5 star Casa Taba were extra but with 10% off. Service at all restaurants was top notch, friendly and attentive. Those we'll miss are Khalifa (who greets you every day at the Palm Garden); Ibrahim (who served outdoors with a big smile); Mohammed on the pool bar (anticipating your every need); Ahmed (supervising your satisfaction); Mohammed Abdel Fattah(food and beverage manager who obviously inspires his team). Facilities were great from the various pools, to the wonderful beach front. There were loads of activities available and encouraged. We indulged in diving in the safe hands of Mohammed Ali (manager), Karina (instructor), and a big smiling helpful fun team. There was an amazing abundance of marine life - wrasses, parrotfish, angelfish, demoiselles, anemone fish, puffer fish, trigger fish, pipe fish and even a crocodile fish. And this was just off the beach, 10 yards from your sun bed with a snorkel and mask. I've dived in the southern Red Sea as well and this area was up with that in quality. Dolphins are further up towards Israel but we unfortunately didn't make that trip. We did go on an excursion to Mount Horeb in the middle of the Sinai which was amazing. And also a shopping trip to Eilat, Israel which was dubious in terms of price (no recession hit here yet) and interesting in terms of border crossings. Do your research before you go. Our guide and driver on both trips, Mr Amir, was very patient. We visited in Feb 2009, in their winter, when the weather was a very comfortable 26 to 28 deg, such that you could lie out in the sun and feel warmed by the rays without feeling burnt. It also meant that there were few people and it was very peaceful, backed by nothing but the Sinai mountains and looking out over the wonderful Red Sea. I've already recommended it to all my friends. Thank-you Hilton for a fantastic stay. We miss you all so much that we hope to return in May this year.

heavenly getaway

I would like to say a very sincere THANK YOU to Mr Martin Rogers, Mr Mohammed Fattah, and Executive chef Mohammed and all the staff at Taba Hilton for their kindness, hospitality and for the care they showed me. Yes it is a quiet resort, but it is not dead, there are lots of things to do and trips to go on should you feel inclined, but book a fortnight so you can pace yourself. I am hopefully returning in September to do just that. If like me you have never visited Egypt and have worries about upset tums and the like then head for Taba Hilton you will be well looked after for it is spotlessly clean, bright and a very happy place to holiday and ALL THE STAFF and MANAGEMENT are excellent. Once again many thanks to you all for taking such very good care of me. Kindest Regards Everyone, from Annie Simmonds

A gem we are glad to have found
from sadies
To start with I need to say that we booked this holiday to Taba less than 24hrs before we due to arrive, so we weren't sure what to expect other than we had gone for the Hilton name... From the second we arrived to the second we had to leave (which we grugingly had to do) our time at the Hilton Taba was a holiday we WILL be doing again. The location of the Hilton is just meters away from the border of Israel and from the beach you can see Jordan and Saudi... there is the Movenpick next door and a few other shops outside of the complex but don't go expecting nightlife and duty free gallore... which I hope it never becomes as it will spoil the area. The hotel itself is a credit to the Hilton chain, its clean, rooms are large, and the staff have to be some of the best staff I have ever come across in my travels. They are never short of a smile, a helping hand and never pester you for tips (even if its how they survive...) We went on holiday with our 2 and a half year old son who was known by name by everyone by mid-week and it was lovely that everyone made such an effort with him. The kids club and the animation team are worth their weight in gold as our son decided to go to the kids club for 3 of the 7 days of our stay... he loved them and would have stayed with them if we had let him!!! The AI option of staying here is well worth the little bit extra, its not your typical AI where the food is recycled and your choice is limited to cold pasta if you don't eat meat. A small conversation with the Exec Chef and your sorted for the week. Each meal time food is freshly cooked and there is the option of freshly prepared dishes at all times... my husband loved the oriental breakfast option and me... well my specially made spicy pasta dishes put any pregnancy cravings to bed. If you want to relax and venture over the border on day trips I can't reccommed this hotel enough, nor can I tell you how much I think you should take your kids here, its lovely and we will be going back with our expanding brood.

Many thanks for your kind comments on Trip Advisor. It was nice to read your comments on the staff and their service. The Hotel has many guests on B&B and Half Board, but most UK guests do like the All Inclusive package. I will also ensure that Mojo in the animation team sees your comments on his department. We look forward in welcoming you back in the future. Martin

perfect place to relax!
from x2mmo
Stayed in the hilton taba from 5th january for 1 week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were excellent and gave 100% service and particularly liked british guests as they appreciated their efforts unlike the russians! Met Hugh, the dive school manager from Pontypool and also saw Martin the new manager from England but unfortunately didnt get a chance to meet but could see that the Hotel was really well run and staff respected him. Had a nice room on the 7th floor together with bathrobes and beautiful views over israel, jordan and saudi. The only comment i would really like to make is that as it states by other visitors on tripadvisor, you don't have to pay to go over the border to israel, it is completely wrong! we crossed over to shop in eliat for just 1 hour and on the way back were charged almost £20 each! then we were going on a day trip to petra two days later and had to pay further taxes to travel out of egypt! this needs to be better explained in the Hotel and at welcome meetings by tour reps (ours, Hotels4u never mentioned anything about paying and we told him that we were going!!) The israeli people weren't very friendly either. Petra was well worth the visit and was totally amazed at the sights. All in all a fabulous holiday, perfect weather too... must return x p.s. maybe a fitness suite could be added to the hotel to burn off some calories from all the lovely food and drinks consumed when on an all inclusive basis.

many thanks for your comments from your recent visit. I have passed your comments onto the tour rep regarding the border tax. Huw from the Dive Centre also passes on his thanks. I think everyone should try to plan to visit Petra during their holiday, it is worth the journey. Regards - Martin
Wonderful rest is in a remarkable place, Irina, Ukraine, Kiev
from mishutka82
In Egypt I was not first time, but in this last times my stay was remarkable. In Taboo departed by reason of that, to go to Israel and Jordan. It was perfectly! Wonderful kind from a room on 3 countries: Israel, Egypt and Jordan, kind at the seaside and on a pool simply charmed us. Rooms were very comfortable and clean, beds very comfortable, luxurious, sleep was wonderful. A beach was clean and very comfortable for bathing, it is not needed it was to search a place, where it is more comfortable possible it was to touch at a sea, because a beach was very comfortable. Territory of hotel is very beautiful. Unique not good-this is available spaces on a beach. It is needed it was early in the morning to go to the beach, take seat, go to breakfast. Very friendly command of hotel, its employees. Always friendly, formed, will always ask, how are you, how is a mood? Especially, it is very pleasant it was to socialize with manager Ehab and his boys in bars, always attentive to us, friendly, high-quality and in time brought drinks, served us. Thank you for attention, it was very pleasantly to feel guests which are waited. I will the friends and acquaintances recommend this hotel and hope yet will arrive again in Taba.

Christmas, New Year stay at Hilton Taba.
from MrKildare
Overall we were very happy with our stay here.On our arrival Security was tight but the security staff were very friendly. So be prepared for a short delay on arrival. Rooms were quickly sorted and more than adequate. We were offered a balcony and sea view room for an extra $15 per night but declined. The rooms at the back overlook the border point with Israel (200 meters away) and you can also see Jordan. The TV stations offered are excellent with 2 free movie channels. The domestic staff, indeed all the staff, are friendly and very helpful. The food is top quality, plentiful, well presented and wide ranging. Our only minor gripe was that we missed the breakfast fry up (although the fried eggs were good). The all inclusive package is worth considering if you intend to stay around the hotel, as it includes 3 great meals, drinks by the pool/beach, snacks and ice cream. If you are going out for the day you can be provided with a breakfast box once you order it with the staff at reception. The 2 pools are good and there are great views from the beach. The hotel was not full over Christmas so there was plenty of room on the beach. This may not be the case in busy periods. Residents at the Hilton are also free to visit the Movenpick next door. There were a large number of Eastern Europeans staying at the hotel. All residents were friendly with no unruly behavior. Our only concern with this hotel is that there is not much else to do in the immediate area. However We strongly recommend walking over the border to Israel. It takes a bit of time on the first occasion but you will quickly get used to the system. Taxis are waiting on the Israeli side to take you to Eilat. You can get the local currency at a bank at the crossing. On your return to the border point you will have to pay an exit tax amounting to about $20 but keep the receipt and if you cross again show this. You only have to pay once. If you only intend to go into Israel once leave it towards the end of your trip, we wont go into the details but it will save you a few quid with the Egyptians. Taba is a great base from which to visit many brilliant places - we recommend using Max Travel whom have a desk at reception. We used them for trips to Mount Sinai, Cairo and Petra. They can provide great guides. The guide in Cairo - Ehab - is passionate about history, friendly and a great communicator. In summary, well worth it, go for it!!!

Many thanks for placing your comments onto Trip Advisor. I am glad to see that you had a relaxing holiday.
The Hotel operates a choice of Bed and Breakfast, Half Board and a All Inclusive package. I agree with you that the majority of people visiting Egypt now do prefer the All Inclusive package.
It is good to see that you used every opportunity to visit some of the locations in the area.
kind regards, Martin
Total relaxation

Go to the Taba Hilton if you'd like to relax for a week when it's cold and rainy at home. Temp. is good, nice food, amazing service. Try the Marhaba restaurant if you're there and do not miss the Sheisha bar. Most of the rooms in the hotel are the same, containing everything you need and very clean. Don't go there if you're looking for a romantic old town with restaurants and an old church, because 'Taba' has none. The hotel is packed with Russians who are quite impolite (rude), noisy and drink a lot. Nonetheless; I had a great time! Some tips: if you're staying in the Sinai area, you do not need to pay for a Visa. Only if you're planning to visit places in Egypt outside the Sinai (such as Cairo) you need to pay 20 euros. Be advised that when you visit Israel (which is just outside the Hilton) you need to pay 45 euros to be able to fly home again (may sound strange, but is true...) Last, take euros or dollars with you; they rather have you paying in those currencies.

Thank you for posting your comments on Trip Advisor and your excellent photos. You mentioned a very good point on the visa's when arriving at the airport. If you do not intend to travel away from Sinai - please just state Sinai only at the airport, you do not need to purchase a visa.
Our perfect trip

We have just returned from Hilton Taba hotel. We decided to visit Egypt in winter with the hope to get some sun and were much surprised to get wonderful weather and even the possibility to swim in the sea in January. Taba has really picturesque views. It was our 5th visit to this beautiful country and we could compare with other 5stars Egyptian hotels. In Hilton the beach territory is absolutely beautiful with the hammocks, where you can relax any time. Movenpick hotel is situated just near Hilton and the quests can easily visit the neighboring hotels. When you come back to Hilton you immediately note that In Hilton the territory is very green and cozy. Also in Hilton one of two swimming pools is heated in winter time and the water is really very warm (it was the great plus) and a Jacuzzi of course is an ideal place for relaxing. The food in the Palm Court restaurant is very nice and the service is great!!! The room service is very good, every day we had some “swans”, made from the towels:) It was pleasant. The atmosphere in general is very friendly. In the evening we could go to the lobby bar to watch the animation team shows. The animation team was doing their best to entertain people all over the day and especially in the evening. After that one can go to the disco, we’ve been twice, but it was not good enough. It general it was a comfortable and quite holiday and we are planning to come back here with our child this spring.
