After reading the reviews, we were dubious about going to this hotel but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. Hotel room nice (apart from carpeted but the other couple we were with had none in theirs?). Air con worked and room was clean. There are 2 small lifts (one was out of order throughout our stay and the other kept getting stuck so we just used the stairs) - could of been a problem if we weren't good on our feet though. Bar staff, waiters and reception staff friendly and food "gorgeous" (although on the first day it was pretty poor!!). Entertainment wasn't fantastic but it wasn't terrible either - Ed puts on a good show though especially the Fire Show. Good pool and not too far from the beach and shops. TV in room which sometimes was in English but who cares.... we didn't travel to Cyprus to watch TV!! Fridge and Safe in room too. Our room was on the front of the Hotel which was a little noisy if you kept the balcony door open but that wasn't a problem when you use the air con. All in all, great holiday and lovely hotel - after all, it is a 3* and you do get what you pay for - if you want 5* then cough up and stop moaning!!!

not what I thought

Entertainment was okay for children under 2, not couples. Hotel was clean but needs a complete refurbishment. Food was passable, but only just. Waitor service was good.Cannot understand why it has still got gold rating plaques from 2001 in reception.

Me and my boyfriend have just returned from a week at the Antigoni hotel and loved it! The rooms are very basic but extremely clean as they were cleaned every day and we were all inclusive so we didnt need any more than a bed, shower and toilet so it was perfect. The food is fine too, we never bothered with breakfast so i cant comment on that but lunch and dinners were always nice with a good choice (and one of us is a picky eater!)and chips, bread and pizza came as standard every day so if you dont like anything else there is to offer theres always the basics. The pool area is really good - the pool is huge and plenty of sunbeds (we often moved sunbeds during the day there was that many to choose from so you definately dont have to be up at the crack of dawn reserving them with towels). The pool bar only opened once whilst we were there but everything seemed to be getting a little more lively as we were leaving including the pool bar as they were setting it up most of the week. Same with the entertainment the first 3 nights were ok if you like bingo then the next couple of nights he did a bit of kids entertainment as more kids were arriving and then on the last few nights the entertainment improved with parrot shows, hypnotists and quizzes etc which i guess is because its getting more in season now. In honesty tho we did miss the majority of the entertainment (bingo basically) as we tended to go for a walk every night as the main strip is only a 2minute walk and drinks were fairly cheap in most places so we didnt feel like we were loosing out on the all inclusive. Only thing i would point out is that the snack menu wasnt all inclusive you did have to pay for the things on that but after lunch/dinner every day you were never hungry and also if your not all inclusive the drinks at the hotel are very expensive. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and i would recommend.

Best 3 star All Inclusive ever

We had beed told this hotel was great for many reasons but it was far better than expected. The food is varied and very good, served all day. Drinks including cocktails were all free. The pool and surrounding area is one of the best in the resort and we would definately recommend this hotel to others, especially if on a budget. We will be booking again next year as we had the best holiday in Europe ever at this hotel and resort. Expect 3 star and you will be very please. Apart from the fairly basic rooms, I would rate this hotel a 4 star for cleansiness, food, service and value for money.
The hotel is also in one of the best locations of Protaras as it is based right on the main street and close to all shops and bars as well as a few hundred metres from the beach.

Just returned from a week at the Antigoni Hotel. This hotel is fantastic, the pool is massive and has plenty of sun beds. Hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly. The food is also very good, plenty of choice both for breakfast and dinner. They also gave us a voucher for a free lunch on our last day as we missed dinner the first night. We were also given a free room extension on our last day which was really helpful for showering before being picked up. The restaurant even organised a cake for me as it was my Birthday during the week, which I thought was very nice of them. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel, it is ideally located for the strip and the beach. Will definately use again.

Just returned last Thursday, 2nd...

Just returned last Thursday, 2nd October, from this hotel and having stayed in a Tzokkos hotel before expected the same standard...how wrong could I be. All the sites you look at regarding this hotel make it look and sound very good, lots of different bars and restaurants to choose from, pool towels, refrigerator, gym, sauna, steam room....you name this hotel is supposed to have it. Well it does not. Breakfast and evening meal in the same place, and as were staying on an All inclusive basis my husband and I expected to go into the dining room for lunch as we have in all other hotels over the years but the only place to eat lunch was at the snack bar.
I could go on for ever with the negatives but just to mention a few positive points. Towels were changed every day albeit they were the most terrible gruby things I have ever seen.
Adam and Fiona did a great job considering they were drafted in last minute to the hotel and we enjoyed their company very much. I am sure if they are there next year the shows and day time activities will be even better.
Most of the bar/restuarant staff were very rude with the exceptions of Monica, Karmena
and Andreas. They wait and pounce on you and remove your plate if you so much as put your knife and fork down for 1 minute.
And finally I would like to let people know that if like us you like to have an All inclusive holiday, DO NOT go to the Antigoni. It is standard to have to vacate your room by 12 noon but this hotel expects you to give up your All Inclusive at 12 also. We arrived at 11.15pm so missed the evening meal, ok that was not the hotels fault but to not want to feed or water us until the coach came at 7.15pm on our last day was just one step to far in my opinion.
Mr Tzokkos, excuse spelling if wrong, needs to get this hotel up to a much better standard as it could be great.

My mother and father were staying at...

My mother and father were staying at this hotel in September. Unfortunately my father took bad over there and was moved to Larnaca airport. My brother and myself had to fly over where the manager of the Antigoni let us both stay there with our mam Free of Charge including our breakfast and Evening Meal. This was absolutely fantastic of him. The hotel meals were spot on, staff were very friendly and they certainly looked after our mam. Dad got out of hospital and they let both mam and dad stay there Free of Charge again until Dad was fit enough to go home!! Nicos is a wonderful man. One in a million with a heart of gold!! I'd recommend this hotel to anyone....nice clean and very friendly with lots of entertainment!!

We have just returned from a week in...

We have just returned from a week in the Antigoni Hotel, the weather was great - the hotel average!
The pool bar (Poseidon) was not open, nor was the Pandora Cocktail bar or the Dionysos Restaurant.
The indoor pool, squash, jacuzzi and steam room etc all also seemed to be shut, we did venture down to the basement to have a look but it was in darkness and so we returned (it was too hot to need any of this anyway)
There were no pool towels provided and no room service.
Finally the entertainment was dire!!! There was a couple doing the entertainment, he did most of the work and she just followed around like a love sick puppy!
Tsokkos own most of the hotels in Protaros and this is definately the poor relation of the family!
The breakfast was fine, we didn't bother with dinners in the hotel after reading the menu daily and there were lots of restaurants to chose from in the town (Steen's on the main road is highly recommended) although they do all seem to have the same menu's!

As my first holiday with my boyfried i was really looking forward to getting away, but we were very dissapionted . We were sold the holiday as a couples only resort and it was not. The staff were very unhelpfull and rude, the entertainment was apauling. There is nothing really to do in the area - and everything is so expensive , also in the hotel agian it was very expensive, We were on half board so we got breakfast and dinner - When you were eating you would have a waitress standing over you waiting to grab your plate before you finish , they cleared your table and took your drinks away before you finished your meal. The beach near the hotel evan though the sea was nice the sand is very dirty and covered in litter, the only thing i will say was that the weater was nice. But we will deffinatley not be returning that hotel of Cyprus after that experience...
