My Advice to everyone Please Please dont go to the Victoria Palace. This is a 4 star + on the outside but not even a 2 Star on the inside
the rooms are dirty and dont get cleaned my bathroom was not touched for 6 days until i complained. We went on the 15th sep to the 29th 2009 and there was only 1 bar open every thing else was closed even the pool bar and the indoor pool and all we got was its the end of the season. But it does not tell you this in the brochure
the restaurant was a disgrace you could not eat the food it was cold and dried up we went down at 6pm and the food looked like it had been there for ages.
chipped crockery no salt on tables we spent all our time looking round for spoons and plates. staff very unhelpfull and some of them wore jeans and dirty trainers no uniform.
The worst thing is nobody in this hotel cares about the situation
This is the worst holiday i have ever had and i will not be going back to Bulgaria again even if you paid me

just got back from victoria palace ? they get better treatment in prison, we checked in at 4am and where given a bag each with a dried up sandwich a warm bottle of water and some fruit we where amazed there wasn,t anything to make a hot drink in room . in the information book in room it said to look at your room service menu in your room, but we didn,t have one and we got the run around the next day when we tried to get one.after that it just went down hill, the bedding didn,t fit the beds and where not clean the pillows where stained ,at breakfast the cups where chipped and dirty the tables where not layed and tablecloths where dirty and you had to lay them yourself the food kept running out and the staff didn,t want to know thy where very rude as for the restaurant manager he was just as bad one night he was shouting at a waiter and he hit him across the face for everyone to see .we where told by one waiter to get our own ashtry.midway through the first week i woke up in the middle of the night with bites all over my legs thats when we decided we,d had enough and phoned thomsons to book us a flight home as soon as possible. two days later we where on a flight for home thank god , i spent the last two nights on the sofa and used my beach towels for covers, overall we booked for two weeks and came home after one week. wev,e never had a holiday like it and never want to again . so if you are thinking of going to victoria palice please please do not go .

Never in my wildest imagination would this hotel be described as 5*, it tends to be insulting to a 3* hotel. I repeat what other reviews state. The rooms are sparse and filthy, you feel like fleas are jumping out of the carpets, beds stained, bed linen is stained, does not fit the bed and is never changed, bathroom never cleaned throughout the whole stay, which we cut short by a full week – went home early, couldn’t tolerate it for any longer, gladly paid for the additional flights.
Staff rude and apathetic, this extends to management who couldn’t care less. Food well below standards and organised into two sittings but is normal for food to run out half way through second sitting and they refuse to replenish food trays saying ‘finished until tomorrow’, basics like butter halfway through breakfast – finished until tomorrow. Never use clean table linen, cutlery disgusting. We witnessed the restraint manager berating a waiter (a loose description as they are immobile most of the time) in front of guests, cuffed him round the ear and push him into the kitchens. We also witnessed several stand up arguments between guests and staff, I was involved in one myself. Think Fawlty Towers but much worse. Believe me the negative reviews are not exaggerations, we have photographs to prove it – please give it a miss, I could go on a lot longer but you get the gist.

I read most of the reviews before we went, but as a freind had been last year and enjoyed her stay there plus i had seen her photos i booked myself, partner and 7 yer old son anyway, it is lovely hotel but the service lets it down. When we got to the reception we were given 3 carrier bags in each were a bottle of water a tomato, apple and peach but i had to throw the fruit away as they had some mold on them we also had a pack of sandwiches wrapped in clingfilm, my partner took one bite and put them in the bin he said the cheese had gone off. Our room was lovely and big it was the biggest room we had stayed in, we were on the 6th foor and had a sort of big round bay window the view was fab, we had two beds plus a pull out camp bed which my son couldn't sleep on because it kept folding up on him which was funny at first, so we put the bed back to a sofer and he slep on that. The food there wasn't great and the service was the worst i have ever seen we had to hunt for knives and forks nearly every day had to clear a table to sit down, to some up getting your food i would say it was like RUNNING THE GAUNTLET! our son went up once to get a cake and came back empty handed and said they where all pushing him, On our second day there was a bad storm so we had to stay in the hotel, apart from a pool table that seemed be booked for hours and a ice hockey game there was nothing for children so we payed for him to go on the computer for an hour, and then returned to our room, we had brought our sons portable dvd player so we connected that to the tv and watched some films, next morning i woke about 7:00 to the sound of water dripping all around our patio door was rain water leaking through the roof now we new why the sofa around the bay window wasn't in the centre and was pushed to one side to stop it getting wet when it rained, so we had to move to another room on the 2nd floor lucky for us it was the same layout. Everyone we spoke to out there had a story to tell some had to ask for clean towels like us which were plonked on the end of our beds never on the towel rails and others at to ask for toilet rolls, our beds were only made twice in the week we were there. After the storm we never used the pool because glass tables were turned over and smashed and there was still glass around so we went on the beach instead, we would go back to bulgaria but there is nothing there for children, maybe a hotel that has entertainment in the evenings other then bingo. They need to sort their service out, its letting a great looking hotel down.

Just returned, please observe this warning, NEVER stay here! The service is very poor, almost non-existent and on the rare occasion it is provided VERY rude & offensive staff.
The food - breakfast or dinner was so poor even though we'd stayed 1/2 board couldn't eat and invariably ended up going out to local restaurant, when we did actually eat there, there was never any seats or cutlery.
Most of the bars were permanently closed, e.g. the "Sports Bar" or "Mezzanine Bar", those open were staffed buy rude & arrogant personnel and the prices exorbitant. The rooms although large were in desperate need of repair and dirty with mould around the bath.
I booked the holiday independently but on two occasions sopke to a holiday represntative for a well known UK tour operator, she informed that they too thought the hotel was terrible and would be pulling out the next season (2010) like another UK operator.
I would NEVER stay at this hotel again.

stay away from this hotel or go at your peril. this hotel is a disgrace the service is so poor for the rating you would get better service at british rail cafe.
first morning to breakfast you couldent find a cup or plate to eat off stayed ten minutes and walked out didnt up pack called the rep and said get me out of here!!!!!!!
the toilets in the reception had nothing on swine flu bacteria you were walking in urine and the smell was undescrible. the hotel surroundings are beatiful but dont touch with a barch pole thomas cook and our british tour operaters should remove this hotel from the broucher and be a shamed if they reccommend this hotel to our fellow pats our thomas rep was fantastic and arranged for us to have room service free of charge and we eat in the managers restraunt for the lenghth of our stay.
you couldent get a sunbed not eoungh and a small child nearly drown while we was there also on the 5 floor and the lifts were out of order for three days kept us fit.

Just got back today and had a good time. However, would not recommend the hotel to anyone as we found a lack of organisation and poor service there.
On Wednesday last we did not receive any hand towels and I complained on Thursday at 16.30pm approx after we still had not received any hand towels nor toilet paper. We still had not received these at 20.00pm and again I complained and was told we might not get the towels until the following morning but toilet paper would be delivered immediately. We had still had not received the toilet paper at 05.55am the next morning and I went to reception again and complained. At 06.15am, 06.30am & again at 645 I had to make complaints re this at which the night porter went to a room and came back with some. A maid them arrived at 7.10am with more. We did not receive hand towels for 5 the last five days of our holiday each time I requested to see the manager I was told she was not present.
Our room was not hovered for the duration of our stay, The bathroom was cleaned only once during that time and the balcony never saw a cleaner for the duration.
The staff members were very dismissive and appeared to be very overworked, especially those working in the reception. The most pleasant person in the hotel was the receptionist ain the restaurant.
A number of mornings there was no hot water at the breakfast and when I complained to the Manager, he shrugged his head a said ... 'Problem'. We still had no hot water for breakfast and no attempt was maid to provide any.
Needless to say I left a scathing questionnaire outlining these points in the hope that the manager would take on board the issues that were not dealt with effectively, hoping that it may improve things for others staying there.
The hotel is in a great setting, the beach is well maintained and we found some very good restaurants providing local food at reasonable prices.

We have just returned from our second vistit to the Victoria Palace. We went for one week in Sept 08 (see the review on this website) and loved it so much that we booked up straight away for 2 weeks in June 09. We had a brilliant time everything was just as good as we remembered. The food this year in the hotel seemed better (it was fine last year but this year there was more choice). Our Towels and beds were changed EVERY day for the 14 days we stayed at the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. The resort of Sunny beach is great and there is something for everyone :) - we cant wait to go back again....!!!

this hotel was stunning,it was wow when you walked through the door, the hotel staff were helpfull when we needed them, sorted a problem with our transfer. The rooms were cleaned and towels changed daily.rooms were large and well furnished. The food was beautiful both day and night, always hot and never the same meals repeated in the seven days we stayed. The cups and plates were not chipped, the staff at meal times were exellant and everything was too a exellant standard. You could even see them checking the temp of the food after it was put out.The reviews i read before i went were very offputting but we thought we should try everything once,im pleased we did.you will love this hotel.I don't know what they have done in the last year but it looks like they have turned everything around if you read last years reviews. (DONT WORRY) some people just love to cry about anything.

Hotel looked great when we pulled up on the coach But that is where the good finishes and the bad starts. When we booked we asked for no higher than the 4th floor we ended up on the 8th floor with no balcony just a 2'x 2'opening part of an otherwise large window. After a week we had to ask for sheets&towels to be changed in our room {CRAZY},when we complained we were called stupid complaining Irish............ Also the bars tried to rip you off when they thought you had had a few. Apart from 2 or 3 bars that were OK there wasent much more to entertainment on Sunney Beach. Over all VERY DISSAPOINTED!

Well, me and my Dad went in 2007 and we thought it was very clean!
The rooms were nice and clean and the bathrooms too.
I thought the food was just ok. The breakfast was absoloutley gorgous but the meal in the evening was quite poor.
It is quite near the beach you only have to cross the road. There are a lot of pools.
Loads of cocktails for adults. And some non-alcoholic ones for kids.
It did take a while for the staff to serve you for drinks and to hand your key in when you go out for the day.
But other than that it was a really good holiday and i really enjoyed it.
I would rate it to other people who are thinking of going.
I would definitley go again.
Thank-you for reading this
I hope you enjoy your holiday in Bulgaria!

The Victoria Palace. should be renamed the hotel from hell.
like many other holiday makers, we have been holidaying allover the world for the last 25
years with our friends, but never have we had a hotel as bad as this one. The food was
always cold and hardly edible, our friend complained to the manager one morning that the
water in the urn was not hot enough to make tea,on which the manager marched our friend
over to the urn and held his hand under the tap, our friend was expecting have hot water
pour on his hand, he need not have worried, the water was only tepid. Also like many others
who go to this hotel our rooms had not seen a cleaner until we complained after 4 days.
The indoor swimming pool was closed, as was most of the indoor entertainment, the pool out
outdoors was filthy, there was green slime all around the sides, a drain with no cover,
and on one occasion we counted 3 plastic bags floating in the water
