just returned from victoria palace stayed 2 weeks 8-23rd july. this was our 3rd visit to bulgaria , the rest of the times we have stayed self catering at sunny dreams aparthotel.whilst the entrance lobby with its bronze statues and gold chandeliers promises grandieur, youll soon realise this hotel delivers anything but. our bed was made daily but fresh towels were an absolute rareity and the staffs attitude towards all inclusive guests is abysmal.upon arrival you will be adorned with a bright orange wristband, this is supposed to signify that you are all inclusive but in our honest opinion it serves as a beacon to the staff yhat you are no longer a paying guest so no effort should be wasted on you.you will also be given a meal ticket to visit the all inclusive resturant 3xdaily for the duration of your stay... BURN IT!!! the food is nothing short of slop. everything tastes the same. the meat is raw inside and sickness is rife throughout the hotel.

  • Advice: More sunbeds. . They are to the pool what lifeboats are to the Titanic.

Dont be fooled by the glossy pictures and inviting pools.Although the hotel itself is a magnificent sight to behold it doesn,t live up to its image. We stayed there for a week in july and were pleased it was only a week. The hotel is mainly full of Russians and Poles who have no sense of dress code "speedos & flip flops for dinner"They queue up for the A/I bar and for meals 15 minutes before it opens, have to be in the lifts first and first out again, fill trays of food to take with them round the pool and order drinks when you are in mid sentence with your turn.On the subject of the pool,300+ people all drinking all day yet you are not allowed in the hotel if wet to use the one toilet in the lobby so where do people "go"....you work it out.Food is were nice provided you like meat and chips with everything 4 star cuisine i think not.Overall nice place shame about the guests.

  • Advice: Use the nearby Condor Hotel, its cheap & cheerfull.

me my partner & mum, have not long since came back from this hotel 13/6/11 - 28/6/11.
like all the other comments for this hotel we read them and thought ho my god but we give it the benefit of the doubt and went.....were shall we start..food Cold only 3 meats to choose from and it was RAW in the middle, the chips was basic raw potato cold, no fresh towels in the room had to reuse them a few times.
the fortnight was there i thought i was doing life for a crime i didn't commit.
we had a run-in with the breach petrol just because after a late night walk on the beach and we sat on a lounger to put our footwear back on, we was threatened with being arrested or the dogs set on us.
there is any entertainment in the hotel at all, the bar upstairs wasn't open bar staff just ignored you standing there, the reception staff try to hush you up if you are complaining so the new guests (victims) don't here you. never never ever going back to that hotel please read and make your mind up....horrid

Arrived back this morning from a 10 night stay in this hotel. It was terrible. Don't get me wrong the hotel is beautiful looks as it does in the brochure but it ends there - unfortunately. If you are later than 6.30am you will NOT get a bed by the pool. We were all inclusive and the brochure states snacks available until 2300 - not so - the "snacks" are cold pizza or hard bread sandwiches which are available until about 3pm. The drinks at the pool bar were included in the All Inclusive we had booked but someone forgot to tell the bar staff (a) they were there to serve and not ignore guests because they were not paying - we had paid amble money before arriving and (b) it is the guests that are keeping them in a job and they should therefore at least treat them with a bit of curtesy I know respect would be way beyond them. The bar staff in the evening in the Irish bar were the opposite to the pool bar staff - the two guys working there - every night they were on - could not do enough to help and were so friendly - hats off to them. Rooms were not cleaned. The beds were made - end off cleaning. Towels were only given if you managed to catch the chambermaid and demand them. Food - oh should I even start about that. Disgusting - I know it was Bulgaria and it would be different but you could not eat this - it was terrible. On hindsight I wish we had gone self catering to this establishment at least that way we would not have paid for our food before arriving then paying again whilst there as we ate out most nights. Entertainment was a lady playing the piano in the foyer nightly except for the night the bingo was on!!! Please pay heed to these reviews and book elsewhere but do go and look at the hotel as it is beautiful.

  • Advice: Book elsewhere but visit hotel

just back from a week stay in the victoria palace/faulty towers. on arrival we were sent to the "victoria residance" (apartment block 50mtrs away from the hotel)...NOT...what we paid for but after several complaints and getting nowhere, we put up with the very poor 2 star accom. the staff are very ignorant and dont seem to like the british. every brit that we spoke to had the same complaints as us. food is warm and food poisoning is rife. only one bar for all inclusive at night manned by only 2 barmen. its a joke! dont even think about getting a sunbed by the pool, theres simply not enough and if u are lucky enough......dont leave it as it will be taken up by the many ignorant foreigners.
the list is endless for complaints here.
take my advice, read the reveiws, they are from real people who have had ther holidays ruined. this hotel is a total disgrace.

dont be fooled by the bad reviews on this hotel the only downfall i would say was the food not a lot of choice and most times not hot enough hotel spotless you could eat your meals on the floor as it is so clean you have to be out early to get a sunbed but that happens on whatever holiday you go on,we have never seen a hotel like this its amazing so is the staff we went all inclusive for £550 each what more could you ask for, most of the people were not keen on food but you have a selection of chicken, pork, veal salads chips cold meats cooked breakfasts fresh fruit icecreams in 8 flavours also pizza and sandwiches and icecream free all day for all inclusive, please go to the hawaii bar if you want a cheap but fantastic food very friendly and on the beach front,go to khans tent excursion it will blow you away happy holidays if you go to this hotel .

I thought I was going to have the holiday of a lifetime in a 5 star hotel.....disappointed...it was awful..no towel changes in a week and no hand towels at all..the shower head didnt move and shot onto the back wall wetting the floor every time it was used..the floor was cleaned only once and the glassware never...cobwebs adorned every corner....the menu was Exactly the Same Every Day...halfboarders couldnt use the poolside bar..the coffee machine wasnt in use during dinner and didnt have the items it described in the right places...it took half an hour(at 2am!) to get into our room...they had no idea how to prepare English tea, ie Hot Water and Milk not tepid water and lemon...part of the balcony in front of my room was inaccessible but we had to endure people throwing 'things' from above which were left in plain sight our entire stay...
need I go on?

This hotel is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The list of problems is vast and I would really advise anyone thinking of staying here to choose a different hotel.

What a fantastic looking hotel but that is where it stops.Staff rude, food bland and sometimes not cooked. We stayed all inc. but could only use one bar, rest are pay bars. Never stopped anywhere where you can't use all bars. Had to ask for clean towels and bed linen. Never ever go back to that hotel again.
