good for the money, close to the beach, paper thin walls
A pretty good hotel, especially for the cost. Breakfast was okay, machine coffee, but otherwise not bad. It was really close to the beach and easy to get into town, 15 mins walk and #11 bus runs constantly. El Limonar is a really nice neighbourhood. Recommend walking up the hill to Castel Gibralfino, especially on a nice day, take fresh delicious naranja's (oranges) with you It's a nice moment. Also a small restaurant just west of hotel, "Los Vikingos" was good. One warning though, walls are paper thin. Hope that you don't have a... more
Hotel Right By The Beach!!
I was quite surprised at how lovely this hotel was. The hotel staff were extremely polite and helpful, as well as having lovely rooms at an excellent rate. I stayed in a triple room with my sisters, and we had a gorgeous balcony view that looked right out onto the beach. The balcony had table and chairs where you can sit and sunbathe. The room was much larger than I thought it would be, with huge wardrobe and massive mirrors. This is a must for the girls!! The floor was tiled, which was nice for the summer weather. Also, room had great... more
No sleep
We stayed here for one night after staying in Granada (read seperate review - Alixares) before flying back to UK. What a disappointment. On the face of it the hotel reception area looked alright. The first impression of the staff (although speaking good English) was that she was very grumpy. This didn't seem to improve with other personnel. Entering our room it looked alright but then when you lay on the beds you heard how creaky they were and upon lying on the pillow it was as though there was no pillow as it was so flat. <br... more
Needs Refurbishment
Given the awful state of the weather in the UK this summer my wife and I had to get away to Spain again; this time for a long weekend. I'd already read the reviews of the Las Vegas so pretty much knew what to expect. It really does need a refurbishment because it is set in a kitsch 1970's timewarp. The pool, while OK, is not as good as you'd find in a Holiday Inn or larger, international hotel and even though we were in the height of the season I never found the poolside bar open - once !!. That's the negative bit over. The location is great... more
good value for money
We stayed recently and were given an excellent room, which was clean, very roomy and well equipped with minbar/fridge and hairdryer . Also had a spacious balcony overlooking the pool. Breakfast was fine - continental buffet with a reasonable choice. Reception and bar staff could do with learning how to smile a bit! Only draw back is busy main road on the side of the hotel where the garden and pool are situated. Also while we were there, some digging works were taking place on the beach directly in front of hotel but... more
Above average 3 star
We were impressed by the value for money that the hotel provided. Our room was large, clean and had a balcony with sea view. Buffet breakfast was exceptionally good [unlimited coffee and fruit juice]. The resteraunt very reasonably priced. All the staff were most helpful. The Malaga Tour bus stop is only 5mins walk away in the direction of the centre{near the Bull Ring} We have no hesitation in reccomending this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Malaga]
First Time In Spain
THIS IS A LOVELY HOTEL,clean, food good, need to start useing real fruit salad and not tinned, front desk staff wonderfull and helpfull, ask for room 421 wonderfull to wake up and to look out over the bay this is a report of a head chef and wife team ,and yes we will go back again
Pretty Good for us!!
This hotel is convenient for the city centre especially if you like a little stroll before and after eating. Tapas bars are very close by if you don't want to stroll into the centre though. It is also very convenient for the beach being just across the road although this road can be a little noisy especially at night. Hotel Las Vegas is very clean and the rooms are plenty big enough. No tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms makes getting a hot drink late at night difficult though. There is a very wide selection on offer at... more
Time Warp Hotel
The Las Vegas Hotel is in a good beach location for Malaga. The rooms are larger than average and have recently been redecorated. Sat TV, minibar, hairdryer etc. The Public areas are definitely in need of redecoration and have obviously not been touched since the original build (60's/70's chic) The bar is miserable and you will interrupt the TV viewing if you ask for a drink! Don't believe the booking agent if it says hot buffet breakfast - this means you can make your own toast! The bus service runs immediately outside the property... more
Perfectly fine beach hotel
The rooms themselves seem to have been recently renovated and are quite comfortable with satellite tv, mini-bar, etc. The restaurant and lobby area need a good renovation and look like they're stuck in the 60's-70's, but they're perfectly fine. The beach is literally across the street from the hotel (the hotel also has a pool). The hotel also has parking, which is hard to come by in this town. (the places are small though). The walk to the main center of town is also only 5-10 minutes and very picturesque. While the hotel is nothing... more
