" Miss Katy "
Submitted By: Katy-Scotlandthe rep was amazing, and so were the bar staff, if you needed any help they were always there.
I was reading these other comments and im really upset that people are making them sound horrible, they must just be used to 5 star complex's, with maid service:)
kavos is the place to be :) 2009!! woooo
" Arrived early Saturday (7.30am)... "
Submitted By: Miss R JonesRooms were basic- beds uncomfortable, 1 clean sheet for 2 whole weeks and 1 towel! The shower u had 2 hold urself and we got a little electric shock when we used it- mentioned this 2 staff and they said 'oh yeah that's happened before but we couldn't find anything wrong!
Noticed on day 2 that there was a hole in our door (bedroom) but thought ah well we haven't paid that much and it's not harming us- HOW WRONG WERE WE- on day 6 the maid noticed this hole (she had been in twice previously and not seen it-apparantly) and we were accused by the barwomen of doing it. We assured them we hadn't done a thing as i'd noticed it Sunday but didn't think anything of it- but no, we were lying!!! As it was our word against there's we were told on day 9 to pay 110 euros that day or our belongings would be outside the room when we got back on day 10 (we were going on a boat trip) and we'd have 2 find somewhere else 2 stay- absolutely disgusted!!!!
We paid obviously, we had no choice- but we told the rep and barwomen we wanted the door fixed before we left on saturday- we were assured this would happen but guess what--friday they told us he couldn't come until the end of season and gave us a receipt from the hotel (we were assured we'd get a receipt of the carpenter-yeah right) now who are the liars! Take into consideration previous repairs to other doors in our room looked like polyfiller-i was not happy!!!!
Our rep just didn't care and basically called us liars or that we'd got carried away after a night out (I don't drink), we were a group of couples, not really into the loud nightlife but i feel we were victimised!
Watch out with aircon aswell-we were conned with this- basically our worst holiday ever, i will not be going back to these appartments!!
If anyone stays in the Zeus, room 9, let us know if the door panel (door on the right) has been replaced or if it was pollyfilled- i would love 2 know where my 110 euros went!!!

Submitted By: Miss AnonymousWe arrived in Kavos in the early hours of the morning outside Hebe apartments, the rep was no where to be seen... no reception at all, so we didn't know where our rooms were. The was a piece of paper with one of the group names on it. We went to find the rooms with only one of the keys outside, so we all had to wait in the one room.
What can I say about the rooms, they are basic to say the least, there were no sheets on the bed. There was make up all over the walls, the floor was dirty. The maid only comes into the room the to make the beds and sweep the floors, the beds are NOT changed ever and they moan at you if you ask!!
Next the bathroom... well you are really in for a treat, it is a room with a toilet, sink and a drain in the floor, there is no shower curtain so water goes everywhere apart from down the drain. The water is yellow and bloody smells.
The kitchen is disgusting the cutlery and pans, I dont think had ever been washed and there was old fat in them...nice!
Also there was three of us sharing a room , but only two of everything, plates , cups etc.
The pool area is ok, but you are not allowed to eat or drink stuff that is not brought from the bar. Didn't have any drinks from the bar so I could comment on them.
Next for the staff, they are polite enough, but watch out for the rep trying to sell you tickets for the trips and stuff, its a con!! If you ask around you can do the same thing for cheaper...
Next on to the beach , which is horrible, there are piles of plastic all along the beach, as well as glass, old condoms. URG!!! The sea is not clean it has stuff like plastic bags floating around.
KAVOS BLOODY SINKS ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the day and night !!! The roads are dangerous as there isnt any pavements, and people on mopeds drive like nutters. The only good restaurant is TEX MEX the food is pricey but really nice!!!
DO NOT GO TO THE STEAK HOUSE ... overpriced and the food is awful!!!
Onto the bars and clubs.....all the bars are priced the same .... little tip all the free drinks and shots are watered down or other people old drinks!!! Yeah nice, Atlantis and Future are good and the drinks they serve aren't watered down!!! All the music they play is good mixture of hip hop, rnb and garage.
The most annoying thing in Kavos is the PRs... who stand about every 10ft on the strip... they are always trying to get you into there bars for free drinks, and some of them are really rude and will not take no for an answer. The ones outside Rolling Stone are nice tho, as they just say have a good night if you dont go in!!!
All in all Kavos is not a place I would ever go back to again.... I have been on other holidays like this but the resorts were much better...my advice is go to Malia instead.

Submitted By: Miss E BurnsThe Hebes was pretty basic but a shower, a bed and somewhere to heat up hot water or soup (which took 5 mins on hob) was all I needed which I found excellent for the price. Plus you’re right next to everything which is great when your ready to go back to the hotel after a night out!
Places to go: Rolling Stones, Papagallos, and Desperados for food (try the popcorn brownies).
Places to avoid: Crash - good view but rubbish menu.
All in all it was a great holiday and really cheap even when across there! Loved it and would definitely go back.

Probably a better place for boys as shower room wasn't great, water was always cold and girls always whinge about that kind of thing

Submitted By: Miss Rachael FramptonThe only thing that let us down was the room we were shoved in. I think they must have overbooked and shoved us in the staff quarters. If you get room 21 then ask to be moved. There were 3 of us in a room and we could hardly move! It’s tiny and the bathroom is ridiculous! We completely flooded out the room on the first night because we didn’t realise the shower was flooding and it went under the door and the whole room was full of water! The water in Kavos stinks. When you turn the tap on you can smell it. I brushed my teeth with bottled water as there was no way that water was going anywhere near my mouth!
All the other rooms in the hotel looked really nice though. I was actually really looking forward to having a shared balcony and when we got there our stupid little excuse for a room didn’t even have one!
The pool is really nice and you always got a sun lounger no matter what time you went down! The Scottish girl behind the bar is really friendly and always looks after you. She makes you toasty’s as well if you ask. They play music round the pool all day which is good and gets you in the mood again. The pool shuts at 7pm so you can’t go in after that and they shout at you if you attempt it!
Would definately recommend Rolling Stone. We were in there everynight, it’s a laugh! The DJ can be abit rude though and embarrasses people sometimes. Also go to Rockys, Buzz bar and 42nd street!
All in all, had an excellent time and would definately go back again! The only thing that let us down was the room we were put in and it really annoyed us for the week!

Submitted By: Jc CollettHowever the place in general was terrible - if you have got any taste than Kavos is definitely not the place for you. At night the streets are filled with PR's that bug you every 2 steps and a large amount of very tacky bars. We survived by sticking to those such as the Rolling Stone, which had very friendly staff and didn't get you in by literally dragging you, which often happens when you walk downs the strip at night.
During the day the place is not much better! The streets stink from the night before and are swarmed upon by wasps due to spilt alcohol, sick and people generally being unable to pick up their own rubbish.
The beach again is terrible, which is a shame as you can see it could be lovely if it was not for all the fag buts, glass and general rubbish - the seaweed is the least of your worries!
We were lucky enough to rent a car out so were able to escape Kavos. Corfu is a lovely island with places like Corfu Town which have much more to offer and I would strongly recommend a visit there.
I understand that some may want to go on holiday purely to sleep with as many people as possible and get smashed; however this review is for those who are unsure like we were about Kavos and were not fully warned by our travel agent what it was actually like! I have been to places in Tenerife and on the other Greek Islands that are marketed in the same way to Kavos, so was not expecting a paradise!
We will definitely not be returning to Kavos and if you ask me the Greek’s were pretty intelligent when they placed their destination for all the Brits miles from anywhere with any standards.

Submitted By: Miss S TurnerAlthough, if you ask the owner will provide these services for you....... even a kettle for my cup of tea!!
Night life... places to go to... Crash Bar, just over the road, Rolling Stone & the fittest bar man ever in Edleweiss Bar.
Place to avoid....... Papagolas (Karaoke bar ova the road) DJ very rude
Overall, a means to an end! A good place for a girl’s holiday!!!

Submitted By: Miss L KirkThey call it self catering, and if your a pot noodle fan then its fine (except the kettle thing leaked hot water everywhere) Other wise the fridge looks quite like a cupboard with a cooling fan, there is no freezer, and the "cooking equipment" - well it is minimal. There are two heated rings built into the work surface, I used it once to try and heat up some spaghetti hoops and was there for at least 45minutes.
No microwave, no grill, no toaster. You’re provided with couple of glasses (most of them have probably been left by previous guests that have been taken from bars), various bits of cutlery and a large and small saucepan. Large saucepan - very good as a sick bucket. We had several apartments, all pretty much the same thing.
Beds aren’t bad - but if you get any of the sheets or towels dirty they disappear and you do not get new ones. You are also charged for it. In fact, you are charged for everything you touch in the rooms. There is a big "damage list" on the wall, dirtying a bed sheet = £15. Smashing the window = £100. Breaking the aluminium front doors (although they looked very much like wood) = £569.
So best to keep hands to yourself. Couple of Geordie lads who were there broke their glass sliding panel and got charged 900euros. They will rip you off like anything. The maid does come round everyday, but apart from the folded bed sheets (if your lucky enough to still have yours) there isn’t much sign that she’s been. She did however clean up the sick in the bedroom regularly which was quite sweet of her.
Everyone will tell you she steals things - this isn’t true. Likelyhood is that you were actually too drunk to notice you've spent all your money and then blame it on the maid for not having any left. One girl we were with thought she had stolen her necklace - we found it when we got home. The bathroom is disgusting - it floods it smells, it’s just a dive.
Wear flip flops in the shower. In fact, try and shower somewhere else, it really is that bad. But everything else is pretty alright. Pool area and bar is lovely, except can only eat/drink stuff around the pool that you have bought at the bar - they are strict about this. We were the loudest and most annoying group staying at the Hebe, so not sure on noise levels regularly.
We didn’t sleep near enough the whole week, and we must have been pretty annoying when we rolled in at 7am every morning screaming and shouting, and then continued to have parties in our apartments with whatever blokes we had managed to drag back.
But hey - were on holiday, its acceptable. One thing though - do not go swimming in the pool between 10pmish and 9am. If the police catch you it’s another 100euro they with have you for. cheeky buggers.
Anyway, can’t think of much else to write about hebe except that you are smack bang in the middle of everything central which is great..and the karaoke bar opposite the complex does the best English breakfast you’ve ever had in your life for 3euro.
Hope this helps!! I want to go back!! x
" We stayed at the glorious (!) if not... "
Submitted By: Miss R ChapmanThe first thing we noticed when we go there was the shared balcony/terrace....which you shared with an apartment either side as we were right in the middle...which isn't actually a bad thing as we come to appreciate when you meet so many people and end up just sitting on your balcony with your neighbours (if you get on!) drinking n having a laugh.
We got half a roll of toilet paper for the 2 weeks...turns out you had 2 buy your own...there were no towels so make sure you take your own...there is a shower that you have to hold by hand in what can only be described as a wet room...after you’ve showered u have to swim out the bathroom!
The kitchen..tho that seems like I’m bigging it up...is actually in the corridor from your front door to your bedroom/living area(!) and contains a 70/80s freestanding hob...which takes half an hour to boil enough water for a pot noodle!!
But besides all that it is smack bang in the middle of the nightlife...and the noise isn't actually too bad...the people in the apartments make more noise than the bars on the street! The nearest supermarket is about a 30 second walk and the restaurants start from about 30 seconds away so your near everything.
All in all it’s not so bad...at the end of the day its a room (sorry 2!) with running water (tho mostly cold)...a toilet (which kept breaking on us!)...beds (what can I say when your knackered a beds a bed!)...and a sociable balcony (we spent more time on the balcony than in the room!)...n we would stay there again as we got it so cheap...but only if we got the same room!

Submitted By: Mr C HallWe booked with the reps a few tour's, the water park was good barred up and the comedy club was spot on, you couldn’t help but laugh and you got lots of free drinks, its a must, but don’t go on the booze cruise your supposed to get free drinks and a barbeque on a secluded beech, after paying for it you get to the beech and have to pay an extra 2 euros for a sun bed, the barbeque was just a few pieces of meat and some pasta which was nasty.
The nightlife was excellent apart from all the pr's trying to get you in the bars, the best club in Kavos has to be future's it plays top music and when it shuts you go through the back and there is two other parts a sort of chill out area and Atlantis which is a small nightclub right on the beach.
The best places to eat is the jolly chef which we went for breakfast most days and a few evenings for dinner, the others are tex mex the drunken squid you pay a bit for your meal but you get plenty and the steak is great, desperados is another place we ate which is excellent we tried a few other places but they weren’t that good thin steaks and not the good of a size for money and some places bring you bread which you think is in with your meal but you get charged for it, so if they bring it to you, you just say you don’t want bread.
All in all we had a great time but make sure you take mosquito repellent and plug-ins its a must, don’t have your doors open at night because they will still bite you as we found out lol.

Submitted By: Miss S BrownThe pool area is quite spacious and clean and the bar has various offers on different bottles.(the bargirl is the best).
There is not much to Kavos just bars bars and more bars esp. good for young groups of people.....me and my bf liked papegelos and also edelweiss(he gives you loads a free shots).
One last thing watch out for the massive and I mean MASSIVE CRICKETS! You will understand if you see one....
Hope you enjoy your holidays and get steaming!
P.S go on the boat trip to the Blue Lagoon it is lovely.

Submitted By: Miss WilliamsWe had a 2 week holiday staying at the Hebe apartments in the centre of Kavos. It was the best holiday that my boyfriend and me have ever had. The accommodation wasn’t exactly the best but we weren’t in our rooms long. As long as we had clean showers to wash in and tidy beds we weren’t bothered. The couple that came with us thought that the place was a dive. they weren’t used to the 2* basic accommodation.
Me and my other half made the most of the 2 weeks we had in the boiling hot sun and the best nightlife we have ever had before.
I would recommend Kavos to any groups of friends and even couples because we enjoyed ourselves but probably not staying at the Hebe Complex.

Atmosphere with other guests was great, book things with the rep, Mark, he got everyone together, really looked after us, and was well good prices- Theo's boat rocks!!!!! Location was perfect, right on the strip. Pool bar was good value with free sunbeds, barman, Ash, was cool.Still in contact with everybody and they all loved it(gonna get them to write too!)
We were there when people had problem with door, 2 or 3 rooms heard them break it(wrote letters for the rep)
Basically, if you want cheap rooms (we paid about 150 quid for 2 weeks),good location for partying and wanna join in and have a laugh you can't go wrong booking Hebe's-we're all going back in July 09!!!!
