Aug 2006, Miss S Turner

The apartments were clean & compact and the owner & staff were exemplary. However, the rooms did not include towels and sheets were not changed.
Although, if you ask the owner will provide these services for you....... even a kettle for my cup of tea!!
Night life... places to go to... Crash Bar, just over the road, Rolling Stone & the fittest bar man ever in Edleweiss Bar.
Place to avoid....... Papagolas (Karaoke bar ova the road) DJ very rude
Overall, a means to an end! A good place for a girl’s holiday!!!

Firstly...best holiday I’ve ever...

Aug 2006, Miss L Kirk

Firstly...best holiday I’ve ever had, if your reading this and contemplating whether to go..do it!! To be honest, the Hebe isn’t exactly to Ritz, but then again your not paying £100's a night. They call it self catering, and if your a pot noodle fan then its fine (except the kettle thing leaked hot water everywhere) Other wise the fridge looks quite like a cupboard with a cooling fan, there is no freezer, and the "cooking equipment" - well it is minimal. There are two heated rings built into the work surface, I used it once to try and heat up some spaghetti hoops and was there for at least 45minutes. No microwave, no grill, no toaster. You’re provided with couple of glasses (most of them have probably been left by previous guests that have been taken from bars), various bits of cutlery and a large and small saucepan. Large saucepan - very good as a sick bucket. We had several apartments, all pretty much the same thing. Beds aren’t bad - but if you get any of the sheets or towels dirty they disappear and you do not get new ones. You are also charged for it. In fact, you are charged for everything you touch in the rooms. There is a big "damage list" on the wall, dirtying a bed sheet = £15. Smashing the window = £100. Breaking the aluminium front doors (although they looked very much like wood) = £569. So best to keep hands to yourself. Couple of Geordie lads who were there broke their glass sliding panel and got charged 900euros. They will rip you off like anything. The maid does come round everyday, but apart from the folded bed sheets (if your lucky enough to still have yours) there isn’t much sign that she’s been. She did however clean up the sick in the bedroom regularly which was quite sweet of her. Everyone will tell you she steals things - this isn’t true. Likelyhood is that you were actually too drunk to notice you've spent all your money and then blame it on the maid for not having any left. One girl we were with thought she had stolen her necklace - we found it when we got home. The bathroom is disgusting - it floods it smells, it’s just a dive. Wear flip flops in the shower. In fact, try and shower somewhere else, it really is that bad. But everything else is pretty alright. Pool area and bar is lovely, except can only eat/drink stuff around the pool that you have bought at the bar - they are strict about this. We were the loudest and most annoying group staying at the Hebe, so not sure on noise levels regularly. We didn’t sleep near enough the whole week, and we must have been pretty annoying when we rolled in at 7am every morning screaming and shouting, and then continued to have parties in our apartments with whatever blokes we had managed to drag back. But hey - were on holiday, its acceptable. One thing though - do not go swimming in the pool between 10pmish and 9am. If the police catch you it’s another 100euro they with have you for. cheeky buggers. Anyway, can’t think of much else to write about hebe except that you are smack bang in the middle of everything central which is great..and the karaoke bar opposite the complex does the best English breakfast you’ve ever had in your life for 3euro. Hope this helps!! I want to go back!! x

Aug 2006, Miss R Chapman

We stayed at the glorious (!) if not a little basic Hermes complex at the Hebe Apartments...in the best position where we could see the pool and have a nose at all the comings n goings! The first thing we noticed when we go there was the shared balcony/terrace....which you shared with an apartment either side as we were right in the middle...which isn't actually a bad thing as we come to appreciate when you meet so many people and end up just sitting on your balcony with your neighbours (if you get on!) drinking n having a laugh. We got half a roll of toilet paper for the 2 weeks...turns out you had 2 buy your own...there were no towels so make sure you take your own...there is a shower that you have to hold by hand in what can only be described as a wet room...after you’ve showered u have to swim out the bathroom! The kitchen..tho that seems like I’m bigging it up...is actually in the corridor from your front door to your bedroom/living area(!) and contains a 70/80s freestanding hob...which takes half an hour to boil enough water for a pot noodle!! But besides all that it is smack bang in the middle of the nightlife...and the noise isn't actually too bad...the people in the apartments make more noise than the bars on the street! The nearest supermarket is about a 30 second walk and the restaurants start from about 30 seconds away so your near everything. All in all it’s not so bad...at the end of the day its a room (sorry 2!) with running water (tho mostly cold)...a toilet (which kept breaking on us!)...beds (what can I say when your knackered a beds a bed!)...and a sociable balcony (we spent more time on the balcony than in the room!)...n we would stay there again as we got it so cheap...but only if we got the same room!

Jun 2006, Mr C Hall

Me and 3 mates all male stayed at the Hebe, and it was great, we went on an 18-30 holiday on the 12-26 June 2006.
We booked with the reps a few tour's, the water park was good barred up and the comedy club was spot on, you couldn’t help but laugh and you got lots of free drinks, its a must, but don’t go on the booze cruise your supposed to get free drinks and a barbeque on a secluded beech, after paying for it you get to the beech and have to pay an extra 2 euros for a sun bed, the barbeque was just a few pieces of meat and some pasta which was nasty.
The nightlife was excellent apart from all the pr's trying to get you in the bars, the best club in Kavos has to be future's it plays top music and when it shuts you go through the back and there is two other parts a sort of chill out area and Atlantis which is a small nightclub right on the beach.
The best places to eat is the jolly chef which we went for breakfast most days and a few evenings for dinner, the others are tex mex the drunken squid you pay a bit for your meal but you get plenty and the steak is great, desperados is another place we ate which is excellent we tried a few other places but they weren’t that good thin steaks and not the good of a size for money and some places bring you bread which you think is in with your meal but you get charged for it, so if they bring it to you, you just say you don’t want bread.
All in all we had a great time but make sure you take mosquito repellent and plug-ins its a must, don’t have your doors open at night because they will still bite you as we found out lol.

Jul 2004, Miss S Brown

My boyfriend and me stayed at the Hebe complex in July. The apartments were clean enough, ignore other peoples comments when they say that the cleaner steals from your rooms - she is the nicest person I have ever met! The pool area is quite spacious and clean and the bar has various offers on different bottles.(the bargirl is the best). There is not much to Kavos just bars bars and more bars esp. good for young groups of people.....me and my bf liked papegelos and also edelweiss(he gives you loads a free shots). One last thing watch out for the massive and I mean MASSIVE CRICKETS! You will understand if you see one.... Hope you enjoy your holidays and get steaming! P.S go on the boat trip to the Blue Lagoon it is lovely.

Jul 2004, Miss Williams

My boyfriend and I and another couple visited Kavos on holiday in July 2004. We had a 2 week holiday staying at the Hebe apartments in the centre of Kavos. It was the best holiday that my boyfriend and me have ever had. The accommodation wasn’t exactly the best but we weren’t in our rooms long. As long as we had clean showers to wash in and tidy beds we weren’t bothered. The couple that came with us thought that the place was a dive. they weren’t used to the 2* basic accommodation. Me and my other half made the most of the 2 weeks we had in the boiling hot sun and the best nightlife we have ever had before. I would recommend Kavos to any groups of friends and even couples because we enjoyed ourselves but probably not staying at the Hebe Complex.
