After staying in Rhodes for the past 6 years, we decided to do the ultimate- go all inclusive- infact one better- go Ultra all inclusive!
was it a mistake?- probably in reflection yes, but that is just personal taste.
The hotel is classed as a 4/5 star, I would say on cleanliness then I would offer 4 stars, but on amenities and overall facilities probaly a 3.5 star.
The room was lovely- we stayed in a junior suite at quite a hefty supplement, it was not overly large, but for the time you spend in a room in greece was adequate.
The food was good, varied and fresh, but unfortunately, and purely our own fault lacks that greek experience, as you are sat in a well lit dining room with tablecloths and a maitre'd hovering, not the lovely taverna greek experience- but as I say- our own fault- we knew of this when we booked, but just did not realise how much we would miss the eating out touch.
The hotel mainly caters for german guests, the animation team speak firstly in german and then translate into english, and the entertainment is not of either a 4 nor 5 star standard.
We are yet to understand why they class the property as an ultra all inclusive, as far as we can see it really does not offer anything more ultra than any other all inclusive property- mini bar only filled the once you arrive, and packed lunches are now no longer available, so really it is just another all inclusive, which unfortunately just like all the rest in greece is ruining the local business into the ground. Rhodes is truly a gem of a holiday destination, but if you want to feel, touch, smell, taste and hear the true Rhodes with all your five senses then stay clear of the all inclusive, go local.
