Being Sunsail, this resort caters for the serious sailors (or windsurfers); excellent equipment, and outstanding beach team providing willing assistance, very good safety supervision, advice and formal instruction. For beginner/intermediate sailors, conditions are OK in the morning but get pretty serious in the afternoon, with strong, gusty offshore winds which appeal only to the more advanced.
Also plenty of other activities with water-skiing, wakeboarding, tennis, gym, aqua-aerobics, mountain biking, swimming instruction, beauty treatment, massage etc. Kids clubs are very well done - but of course centre very much around water-sports.
Food was excellent given buffet style service, wide choice and friendly local service, and some good restaurants within day yacht sailing or for evening trips out on the nights where meals not inclusive.
Rooms were good, spacious, but choice of fittings putting design over practicality and much still in need of being finished off/sorted out after major refurbishment May 2008. The villas higher up the cliff represent a stiff climb or a golf cart ride for the unfit or unwilling. And the spa was not open yet, so facilities all in temporary housing. Other irritations were the room card locks which regularly failed to operate, reception staff that were friendly but not completely capable, and gardening staff that tipped everything off your sun-lounger when they considered it was time to pack up, generally earlier than our time to retire from the beach. But these were minor irritations easily offset by the plus points of the resort.
All in all we had an outstanding 2 weeks, and will happily return, although ifirst will look whether the other Sunsail resorts offer a lighter/steadier winds. Note is not cheap, overall holiday package and meals out are not cheap, bar bill was definitely a shock. But is worth it for the opportunity to be safely andn enjoyably on the water every day

Last minute decision to book Sunsail at Club Javelin at Yahsi in Ortakent Bay on the Bodrum Peninsula, Turkey. Jim, Pam, Richard & Gill, all well travelled active holiday seekers.
We had no great expectation for this holiday, booked in desperation, two days prior to departure, following the brutal cancellation of our long standing booked holiday to Croatia by Portland Holidays Direct. Sunsail saved our holiday, and then gave us one of the best holiday experiences we have had.
Flights with First Choice - On time out, early back, faultless. Transfers - Prompt, air conditioned, friendly. Accommodation - Extremely adequate, (3* probably). Cleanliness, Spotless, fantastic room & maid service. Meals & Food – Very, very good, half board plus (4*).
Hotel Reception & Service - The best we have experienced. Hotel bar service & staff - Nothing was too much trouble. Sailing & Water sports, as good as anywhere we've been.
Sailing conditions - Wind f4 - f5 every day, top banana. Beach Service & rescue, the best we've ever experienced. The beach, sports, health & fitness team - The most incredible group of enthusiastic, committed, engaging young people we have ever been looked after by on holiday before.
However, too much sun has made them almost as "barking" as us!

Revisiting the Javelin hotel was always going to give us mixed views as overall we really enjoyed going to the old hotel and sitting in the Jetty bar in the evening dicussing the days adventures with friends old and new. This time however was going to be different so we was not sure what to expect.
We were pleasantly surprised with the new hotel with all its modern fittings although there was a few teething problems being a new hotel we expected this. If your room is in the cliff face make sure you are ready for the many steps this is a workout in itself. We had a lovely time we came here for the sailing and had a superb couple of weeks. Food as always was fantastic as were the staff they did all they could for you. We couldnt come to Javelin and not revisit our favourite restaurant the very popular VIRAS along the promenade. Once again we wasnt dissapointed by the food and service it was fantastic. Definitely worth a visit or two.
Superb holdiday again thanks to all at the Javelin Hotel
