Hotel is not up to standard and is well dated. Rooms are dirty, air conditioning was broken. During our stay we had two rooms, both of which smelt intermittently of sewerage. The restaurant was not clean, with dirty plates and cutlery at every sitting. Hotel is geared up... more

Booked a cheap second holiday in September, after reading reviews we were a bit dubious, but were pleasantly surprised. This was one of the friendliest places we have ever been, full of Spaniards on holiday who were always polite, friendly and really helpful. Room was... more

Having been to a few hotels in Mojacar over the last couple of years, we shouldn't have been too surprised by the dodgy food! The hotel is very clean and the beds are made every day and the room cleaned. The desk staff are very pleasant and helpful but the restaurant... more

Our holiday was 2 weeks half board £330 each July 2006. The Hotel Indalo is a place for families and couples. Those wanting a lively time have come to the wrong place. My boyfriend and I (in our early 20s) went there as we wanted a relaxing 2 week break (no lager louts!).... more

I have been to this resort twice now and have loved it to bits. Its a very relaxing area with lots of families and children taking the more "family" orientated accommodation a couple of miles down the coast which left this area very peaceful and "kid-free". Garucha is a... more

Very pleasant Hotel, full of mostly Spanish but several British People. The food was good - buffet style breakfast and evening meal. The staff were friendly, we took our 3 year old son with us and the staff really seemed to make a fuss of him. The only drawback was that... more

Would go again
We stayed at the Hotel Indalo for a week and found it difficult at first as we couldn't find our room until we were told to go through the bar and use the door which didn't state anything other than Staff Only????? As we got into our holiday we found it very relaxing and had some nice walks and the beach was nice too. The food i must admit kept repeating everyday as if they didn't know what to cook but like many people say its the spanish holidays. They get free hols by the government in october so i guess thats why. We had a nice meal at Snoopys (dunno if its still there!) The rooms were ideallic nothing posh nothing rubbish. We had a nice balcony and the rooms were cleaned everyday unless otherwise stated by us. We are going again with our little boy for his 1st holiday this october and looking forward to it. I've noticed there has been quite alot of referbishment since we last went so hopefully its for the better.
Fantastic Indalo!!!!
When I stayed at The hotel Indalo in Almeria last year, it was one of my favourite holidays in Spain. All the staff were friendly and provided good service, the food was brilliant, and there was a nice selection, and the swimming pools were great. The hotel is right across the road from the beach and is within a five minute walk to the nearst bars, shops and restaurants. Indalo is great for family holidays and couples wanting a relaxing break!! I would certainly go again!!!!
OK
Arrived in Mojacar to meet the owner of the villa we rented but to cut a long story short - it was a no show, so we had to find a hotel to stay in until we sorted the problem out. Having arrived there late, the receptionist was able to accommodate us all (four of us travelling). Breakfast was a bit like a market, where people are just coming from different directions and the lifts were tiny. All in all, it needs a bit of a refurb but the rooms were clean and that's what really matters.
old dated like the 60s
this hotel needs up dating rooms cleaned food at brekafast cheap tasting and greasy great spot walk down from your left to the lovely argentinia resturant we went on spec if we had paid high price i.e package tour prices woudl have been upset
loved the Indalo Hotel
me & my hubby stayed at this hotel in 2004, we had a lovely time Almeria is a very special place and Mojacar is very pretty. The hotel was very clean the staff were friendly, the food was very nice . The entertainment was not too brilliant as everything was for the spanish pensioners who were on ther holls, they were mostly friendly you do get the odd ones who tend to push in, but we get that in our country also. But its within a short walk to all the bars & resturants I would say Mojacar is more for the mature people or those who like a very relaxing holiday. We have been back to almeria 5 times since then & due to go again in feb, we loved it so much we bought an old farmhouse inland. Indalo is set on the front accross the road from the beach which is a beautifull beach and never many people even in the summer. If you like a relaxing holiday give it a go. we are only in our 40 's & we love it.
never again
Stayed at this hotel for 2 long weeks. The hotel itself is in need of a revamp as its a bit dated. It was however clean. Towels were changed every day but had to ask for clean bedlinen on the ninth day. Entertainment is in Spanish, the entertainment staff totally ignored you if you were not Spanish, in fact I never heard them talking any other language, they did have a quiz night but this was in spanish, they did have a bingo night, but english was too poor to make out the numbers.I understand that we were in spain after all but if you advertise and expect foreign guests, surely staff should speak some other languages. For example the entertainment staff, should not one be able to speak at least some French and one be able to speak some german etc. This hotel could trble the amount of money it generates if the guests spent money in it. The Spanish guests do not drink much at all, so it falls to foreign guest to keep the bar turnover up, if there is no reason to sit in the hotel the money is spent outside. Apart from the hotel itself ,there is a beautiful beach , and guess what, loads of space. Dont know where the tourists were this year but it wasnt Mojacar.
A Relic
Ok, it's in a great location within the resort. Nice beach across the road but the sand is of a very dusty variety. Sea is very accessible even in October. Some nice bars and restaurants within short walking distance. Now the hotel itself (you get what you pay for). Rooms - We were allocated a room on the 5th floor with a great garden and sea view. The room itself was adequate in size for two adults. Air-con was turned off in mid Sept therefore very stuffy and uncomfortable in this particular south- facing room. Very limited Satellite TV (no remote control). Badly in need of redecoration from top to bottom. Bathroom was standard for a 3* hotel but stunk badly due to the mouldy shower curtain. Perhaps this is what attracted the two roaches we encountered over the week. Buffet Restaurant - For those on half board like us, beware. If you are there at the wrong time of year e.g. when the Spanish pensioners get their free government break - then be prepared to be treated to their cattle-like manners. I like the Spanish in general (Try the bar named the Waikiki, Pedro is a lovely chap) and will in fact be moving there next year, however, the dining room antics of the Spanish pensioners showed me a rare level of ignorance. Pushing, shouting, queue jumping and greed for quantity were a daily occurence. In addition to this there are between 4 and 5 bus-loads of old Spaniards who arrive on a daily basis for a lunch and dinner package. Food was edible but lacking in variety and taste. The grill chef at breakfasts could barely fry an egg. Waiter service was fine. The condition and furnishings of the dining room, public rooms and particularly the soviet hotel style corridors were a relic of the 70's. I half expected to spot Sid James, Barbara Windsor and Kenneth Williams etc as the whole hotel was reminiscent of a Carry on Espana film from the 60's era. Great location in a low key but nice resort - I'll visit Mojacar many times again as i'll live closeby - but never again will I stay at the Indalo in it's present condition.
Excellent Value for Money
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in May 2005 and only paid £160 each half board (including flights). The room was fine - not a bad size, decent size balcony with view to beach. Food was great - plenty of salad stuff and hot foods in the evening. Breakfast was fine as well. Cannot complain for the money at all. We enjoyed it so much we are going back in September this year for 2 weeks, although hiring a car for one week. The resort is relaxed but fairly small. Gets busier on Friday and Saturday nights. The beach is fantastic and stretched for miles. The old town of Mojacar is well worth a visit - local buses make it easy to get around. Would definately recommend staying here, especially if you can get a really good deal (we are paying £380 each for 2 weeks half board this year!!)
relaxing indalo
My husband & myself stayed at hotel Indalo last sep it was still very hot, but not unbearable at night. Overall it was a quiet holiday, relaxing. Mojacar is fairly small & quiet so not for teenagers who like clubbing. We are in our 40s. There were a lot of elderly spanish guests. Food was very good. Our room overlooked the pool the entertainment was on outside by the pool a bit noisy till 12.00 ish so we went up the road most nights to a couple of bars that played reggae. We hired a car went out & about, plenty do visit if you have a car mini hollywood etc. Its a different kind of holiday no lager louts. But definately worth a visit. Lovely white washed sugar cube villages very romantic and friendly. We have been back to almeria 3 times.
Quiet Chilled Out Hol
Just returned from Mojacar from a lovely holiday. This was our 2nd time to visit the Hotel Indalo and I would recommend it if you want a quiet holiday away from the "Costas" and lager louts. It is a typical Spanish resort where the spanish holiday so as a result not many English or Irish families holiday there. The hotel is a little tired could do with a paint job but is clean and has everything you need for your stay. The rooms are cleaned daily and the towels are changed daily also. Food is fair to good depending on the day. Sunday is not good. They have a fish day (yum) a cheese day (yum) a meat day ie salami and sausage (yumish) also do theme nights Mexican is good. Breakfast is ok but they have a chef who will cook your own sausages and rashers if you want. We went fully inclusive so drinks were included but icecreams only until 6 which was a bit strange. There are plenty of sunbeds around the pool and if the pool is not your scene there is a jacuzzi and a huge garden area with plenty of sunbeds there too. There is also a huge lounge with a pool table and card tables and comfy sofas to relax in. The staff are wonderful very helpful apart from one barman (one of the senior ones) who is a grumpy so and so and not liked by anyone, the other senior one is lovely. Entertainment is not wonderful really spanish based Spanish dancers parrot shows and a very strange duo of a man playing keyboard and a spanish girl singing english????songs. New Work New Work being one of the songs (New York New York) and some enshaned eeevnin (some enchanted evening) another one. Good for a laugh even though she is not supposed to be funny. Pasqual does a great job dont think he ever sleeps ha ha. One guy Sooper sings great blues and jazz and will do requests English and Irish very appreciative of him. The beach is directly across the road from the hotel and is a blue flag with lifeguards. Not many shops so if you are a shopaholic you would have to get the bus to mojacar (well worth a visit) or to the commercial centre a mile or two up the road (only 90c on the bus no matter how long you stay on). Hire a car and drive through Europes only Desert see the caves that are home to people even to this day. Take a trip to Tabernas and Mini Hollywood where The good the bad the ugly was filmed among others well worth going to the barbque as much food and drink as you can shake a stick at. So in summary the Hotel Indalo is ideal for a quiet chilled holiday either by the pool, jacuzzi or beach or for touring, If youre looking for an all singing dancing clubbing holiday..... stay away. Staff will do their best to see you enjoy your stay and Mojacar is a lovely place to stay. Enjoy
