Me and my family (2 boys aged 11 and 7) have just returned from 2 weeks at Green Oasis. After reading the reviews I was very nervous about what to expect. All I can say is that I am not sure what people are looking for, but this was ideal for us. There was entertainment around the pool all day long which the children could join in.
The food and drink was plentiful, admittedly after 2 weeks it does become a bit boring - but I would imagine everywhere does. These staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was basic, but pleasant and ways always cleaned. The entertainment in the evening was not brilliant, but it was o.k. for something to do between 10 and 11pm. The Taxi's were so cheap that it was nice to go down to the lighthouse or into the town in the early evening.
This is the 2nd Green Oasis hotel we have visited (last year Lanzarote) and although I preferred the location of the hotel in Lanzarote you could not really fault Gran Canaria for the price you are paying. If you want better accommodation and food then you should pay more money and go to higher star accommodation.

Have just arrived back from a half term break in the Green Oasis apartments, we read the bad reviews before we went but didn’t take to much notice. Oh how I wish we'd listened.
The Green Oasis is a complete dump a Butlins for the Spanish, the apartments are grubby, dirty the drains stink there is not a bath or basin plug in any of them we had to go on cockroach patrol every night, the stairs are quite steep and the furniture was falling apart. We went all inclusive which was another mistake the food was lousy and there was no choice for kids and because there is only one restaurant meal times it is like a cattle market we ended up eating out, we found the staff were miserable unless you were Spanish or German and the kids entertainment was rarely in English.
All 3 pools tasted of wee and were freezing and we saw 2 little boys break their arms when they slipped on the pool surround and what made it worse was that because it was so bad we thought we would go out each evening for something to do but you couldn’t cos the nearest shop, bar or restaurant was at least 25 min walk away. We have been on many an all inclusive holiday but this was the worst ever.

Second year running at Green Oasis - absolutely love it.
Accomodation: 2-storey apartments with living area, kitchen, bedroom, full bathroom and separate toilet.
Food & Drink: breakfast, lunch and dinner all buffet style. There with two very fussy eaters and they never went hungry. Wide choice. Out with meal times snacks available e.g. burgers, chips, hotdogs.
Resort: about 3 euros in a taxi will get you into the main resort for shopping, bars etc.

When we arrived in the middle of the night, very tired and wanting to just get our room and go to sleep. We were given keys and a map and was left to find our apartment. This was difficult because some of the paths were not lit, when we found the apartment it still had the rubbish, dirty towels and bedding from the previous occupants so we went back to reception and complained, he gave us another apartment so off we trotted again only to find that one even worse.
We went and complained again and this time the man on the desk came with us and checked to make sure the 3rd one had been cleaned, so we finally got settled after 2 hours! A bad start to our holiday, but we didn't want to let it ruin it. We told the rep the next morning who had no interest whatsoever. In fact after going to the 'welcome' meeting it was obvious after that if you didn't book any of their trips then they had no interest in you at all.
Back to the Green Oasis. We thought it was excellent for the money, the apartment (when clean) were really nice, close to everything. Plenty of food and drink available all day. I can't understand people complaining about the food, if you want 5 star then go 5 star. This was an excellent value for money holiday. The staff were brilliant. Three beautiful pools. You didn’t even have to pay to do your washing and drying, you got a token with a 2 euro deposit and could use it all week as many times as you liked.
No they didn’t have a plug for the bath and sinks, you could go to the reception and get them though, people will steal anything! The food wasn't piping hot but you could put it in the microwave. I really can't understand people saying their holiday has been ruined for this, that and the other. Overall you get what you pay for and as far as the Green Oasis went I think you get more then what you've paid for. I would recommend this place to anyone who isn't toffee nosed and just wants to chill, be well fed and stay in very good accommodation.
If any of the staff get to read this then we would like to thank you all you were all pleasant and always had time for us. (That excludes the direct holiday rep).

I am only writing this review now after only recently discovering this website, I have visited this property on 2 occasions (Oct 04 + May 05) and am due to fly back there on 27th of this month, (cant wait).
I have found the Green Oasis a wonderful pleasant an clean environment to be in.
The accommodation was very basic an quite small. But who wants to pay for all inclusive and spend all the time in there bungalow! It is kept very clean by the regular maid service received.
The grounds are lovely, and very well maintained there is always somebody cleaning and pruning the gardens. There are 3 large pool areas which are very clean and inviting (water very cold) but refreshing.
I found the food to be very enjoyable. It is a buffet style restaurant morning noon and night, but that is clearly stated in the brochures. The food varies from day to day they do try to cater for all nationalities, there is always plenty of fresh fruit and bread available daily. The snack bar is always open if the restaurant is closed and is quite basic but always being replenished.
We found the staff very friendly and always willing to help. The daytime entertainment was brilliant they are always encouraging people to join in with everything and most people do. They then go on to present certificates and bubbly for certain activities in the evening which gives you something to look forward to (if you’re any good!).
Each time I’ve been we have had our little lad with us, he was 13months the first time 22mths second I’m coming up for 3 now. He has loved it the kids disco in the evening and the staff were brill with him.
Overall I cant really find much wrong to say, and am really looking forward to our forthcoming stay at the green oasis, I personally would recommend it to anyone, If people ear in mind it is only a 2 star rating, and very reasonably priced an don’t go there with 5star expectations then I don't see they can go wrong.
P.s we always go in a group usually bout ten of us at a time and all of us are going back together with an addition. My friend is always traveling with us this time who has not been before, I just hope she rates it as highly as us.
So Maria if ya don’t like it, SORRY!! We do!!

My partner and I had an absolutely fabulous holiday here. The food, drinks and service were first class. We went with the idea of just chilling out and that is exactly what we did.
There was always plenty of food available whether in the restaurant or the snack bar. The entertainment and animators were great fun, although we didn't have children with us we still enjoyed it. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and the grounds were immaculate.
All in all a wonderful time was had we didn't want to come home and would consider going there again.

The hotel is beautiful the staff are fun and friendly especially Tom the barman he's great and does some amazing cocktails.
The rooms and towels were cleaned every day and the whole time I was there I didn’t see one cockroach and its interesting as there are loads of different nationalities there include German, Norwegian, Dutch, French, and Spanish the food is outstanding and the drink is nice would definitely go there again.
Ignore all negative feedback as you will not be disappointed we had a brill Christmas and a happy new year and there is a taxi rank right outside the shopping centre. I recommend you try these shopping centres cazzbar, yumbo, faro2, lighthouse and if you like nightclubbing check out cass bah brilliant clubs really cheap and free drink in every club
I’m only 18 and even the older generation enjoyed themselves. Cant wait to go again.

We have holidayed in the canary islands many times and always have a fantastic time. This time though, it wasn’t to be.
Set in lush pretty grounds, what a disappointment when we opened the door to our apartment. Small, very shabby, mould on the walls of the bedroom and bathroom, and unbelievably, no plugs in the sinks!
The shower only just provided a drizzle of water, and the toilet still contained the offerings of the last guest!!!
Things just went from bad to worse. The food was appalling, of the lowest quality imaginable, and very repetitive...veal, pork and fish, and of course chips chips....CHIPS!!!!!!
not a potato in any form visible.
We hated every minute of our stay with our two children and willed the week to go. I have never ever felt like this on holiday before and feel strongly that we have been robbed of our hard earned money.
Our rep was very disinterested, the manager of the hotel, or rather prison camp, even less interested, the staff also appeared not to have any pride in their work, so unlike the Canarian people we have come to love.
The entertainment is all in German, and the quality of the drinks, served in paper cups, morning, noon and night gave me severe acid indigestion, we had to buy alternatives from local shops.
Please take our advice and don’t book this holiday, and if you already have, then transfer NOW, the charge will be money well spent.
THIS A DREADFULL PLACE AND SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM ALL BRITISH BROCHURES.

When we arrived we found the staff to be very helpful and friendly and we were given a map so we could find our bungalow.
However, we did find one or two problems, like, three lights were not working, sink in bathroom was loose and moving away from wall, and tap over kitchen sink was loose, in other words, poor maintenance but we were not too concerned as we were out all day but we will say the bungalow was clean as the maid came in five times during the seven days we were there.
The food was the best part of our holiday, it was very tasty and varied. Our only complaint was that there were chips nearly every night.
If you like children it is an ideal place but we found it very noisy especially around the three swimming pools and it was impossible to relax. We ended up going to Maspalomas Beach which is fantastic! A shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes to the beach, the only downside being that the last bus back from the beach is at 4pm!
If you like funfairs, about 20 minutes walk away, is a huge one.
You can walk around it for free but for rides, you buy either 10 Euros or 15 Euros-worth of tokens.
There is also an indoor section, where there is a huge ten pin bowling alley. It costs 6 Euros per person per game including hire of shoes. There are some table games including air hockey and table football and one or two small cafes.
If you walk up to the main road and turn left and just keep walking you will come to the fair but you can hear it before you see it!
Maspalomas itself is a very clean and attractive part of the island and we felt very safe walking out at night.
All in all an area to be recommended.

If your looking for a budget all inclusive holiday as we was then this is for you. We found the accommodation very basic but clean, the food was very repetitive but good, with a good selection, we had paella one day and it was fantastic! But the food at the poolside was ghastly avoid it like the plague! There are a couple of shopping centres a short taxi ride away(very cheap taxis) and there are plenty of good restaurants we ate out a couple of nights.
There are 3 swimming pools the main one is heated it doesn’t feel like it but believe me I dived into one of the others and nearly had a heart attack (freezing) so I can definitely tell you its heated! All 3 pool areas are lovely my 2 children (3 and 6 year old) had a great time.
The children’s entertainment is aimed at young children they have a kids club twice a day and a kids disco every night at 8, the children’s entertainers are lovely, and unlike other peoples reviews I have read, we had no problems with any of the staff we found them all friendly and helpful.
Basically like I said at the beginning this is a budget holiday it is a 2 star hotel, so if your wanting something 4-5 star i suggest you book it and pay for it, but if your looking for a week away in the sun then the green oasis is perfect, oh and be warned unlike other all inclusives we have been to the alcohol is not watered down and its very strong be careful you have been warned!!!!!!!

We arrived at the hotel about 2 o clock in the afternoon, the staff were very helpful and gave us a map and told us where our room was. when we got or shorts on we got 2 sunbeds and the kids went swimming. we stayed in the c block(furthest away from entertainment) but it was really quiet at night and no cockroaches. the entertainment was good in the day and they did all different games and there was always something for the younger kids (mini club).
There are lots of Germans at the hotel but the staff spoke very good English and helped with everything. the weather was great but some rain (5 minutes on one day). the food was nice but lots of chicken and fish. I enjoyed breakfast the most because it changed each day (bacon egg sausages one day and then onion rings gammon and hash browns). The animation crew were great although i there are only 3 or 4. The shows are great and when the kids win a game they get a certificate.
I would suggest this hotel to people that want to relax, but don’t take kids older than 12!

We booked this holiday before reading any reviews.
so didn’t have any reservations about going there.
arrived at the hotel at 4am, receptionist mush have been tired as he didn’t seem happy to see us, anyway found our way to the bungalow opened the door and we could see why the hotel is classed as a two star
very basic ( you have to hire everything) and smelled of damp but it did have a bedroom upstairs (great if you have kids). opened the upstairs window to find we looked out onto a main road (very noisy day and night).
As we only intended to sleep in the rooms at night, we kept positive.
after a noisy couple of hours sleep went down for breakfast, the restaurant was clean but the food was not nice, I like a cooked breakfast but all week just had croissants as they were the only thing I considered edible.
dinner was just as bad ( hope you like veal as it's on menu every day) tried the snack bar to see if we could have better luck (no),
by the middle of the week we just went out for dinner just to have quality food (if you need to diet, this is the hotel for you)
Alcohol drinks are served in cardboard cup which could explain why they didn’t taste very nice ( the soft drinks were just as bad).
This hotel seems to cater mainly for the Garman guest (could explain why their were no sunbeds available if you didn’t get a towel on one before 6am)
to be fare to the hotel the rooms were cleaned five times a week and the animation team tried their best to entertain us all week,
there are three pools, free bus to the beach every thirty minutes, if your looking for a cheap all inclusive holiday then that’s just what you well get.
This is the fourth time we have been on an all inclusive holiday but unfortunately I have to say the worst.
Going half board next year to be on the safe side.

We stayed for 1 week at the green Oasis apartments in Maspolomas, Gran Canaria.
I was impressed that as we turned up at 22.30 hours the hotel ensured we got something to eat and drink before we were shown to our rooms.
All the staff were polite and courteous, the food was fantastic and there was fresh fruit and fresh bread daily.
The all inclusive choice was very impressive and all foods were clearly labelled and the areas were the food was served or presented were clean and maintained.
The facilities on site were good, all areas were specifically kept clean and the flora and fauna around the apartments were beautiful.
The actual apartments were clean and presentable, the only negative comment i have about the rooms were they had no plugs in any of the sinks or bath, apart from that they were clean and presentable.
We had heard they had a problem with cockroaches and this had put us off a bit, however we saw a few but they were outside our apartments and not inside, that was not to say i saw a few people being given cockroach spray, but i never heard anyone complain about it.
The best thing we thought was to keep the lights on in the apartment whilst we were out so that it would deter any cockroaches coming in, it appeared to do the trick.
In conclusion we enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the Island, if you get the chance get a cab to Port Mogan, a beautiful area about 25-28 euros in a cab each way, good value.
The green oasis is what you pay for you get, i give it a rating of 9-10 because we all enjoyed it, 3 adults and 4 kids.
Weather excellent.
I would recommend you ask to be put in the B or C blocks as the A block was too close to the main bar and a bit noisy, we were in B block and it was quiet and peaceful.

My husband, our two children (18 & 22)and I have just returned from this property (this morning), and having read the previous reviews before I went, I decided to make my own mind up about it when I reached there!
All I can say is that I wondered what some of you expected! Having been on holiday to Spain before ( as I’m sure you have) I didn’t expect no cockroaches, as they are usually there wherever you go!
The only problem regarding the accommodation is that as we had a 2 bed roomed apartment, I got the impression that we were 'the poor relations'. The one bed roomed apartments were much nicer and more recently built. Also you had a downstairs toilet and an upstairs bathroom in the one bed roomed ones, which to my mind were more needed when you have a two bed roomed one. Obviously you have more people wanting to use the bathroom at the same time!
I know it’s a Spanish country, but there were lots of Spaniards who like to take over. That annoyed me immensely! You get the towels on the sunbeds too, but you can find other ways to soak up the sun if you want to.
The food is very basic, and more geared to the 'foreigners' (not British!) That is mainly the only thing I have against the food. Apart from Salad there are very little 'healthy' foods. I can feel I have put on weight, but I am too nervous to step on the scales!
The Entertainments team were superb! Considering there were only five of them, they had a full days entertainments to take part in (Archery, Shuffleboard) etc. with certificates presented in the evening for first, second and third places.
This preceded a full evenings entertainment, starting with a mini-disco for the children, which unfortunately is the same everyday, but the children seem to enjoy themselves! If they didn’t have 'outsiders' to entertain you, they put on shows themselves - brilliant!
There were little thing that niggled me about the apartments, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to other people, as long as they are aware of the little things I have raised!

Bungalows were basic but clean. Food was well presented with a choice of salads, meats, fish and Canarian potatoes etc, but very repetitive same things day after day.
Entertainment was not that good, a lot of the same old thing but the kids seem to enjoy it .
The complex was really lovely, lots of palm trees and wonderful blossom on the bushes throughout. The staff worked very hard keeping the pool s etc clean.
All in all a very good holiday, would consider returning to Green Oasis.
Really good family holiday!
