Last year I stayed in Lloret for a week in June and had a truly terrible time, but this year I had a totally different experience, this was all down to my choice of hotel. Last year the hotel was the Flamingo and I thought never again, this time was the turn of the Acapulco and must say I enjoyed my stay.
The rooms are nice and clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, but most of all the food was interesting and edible, they even had a choice for vegetarians like me every night. Just goes to show how the star rating system does not really tell all and must be accompanied with on-line research. So thanks Acapulco for restoring my faith in some at least of Lloret's hotels.

Like everyone else Hotel is good value for money but food is awful. Staff very friendly but beware of the spanish guy working in the hotel shop especially if your married. Also there is a steakhouse called Tabago who offer al le carte menu, we called in there for a nice steak meal and got steak that you couldnt cut or chew but was tasty, when we mentioned about the steak was then told by the owner "for you you pay full tax" and was charged 3 euros 10 for two squirts of ketchup so avoid this place seriously. We also found that drinking in the bars that drinks were never the same price, and im not on about any special first drink price etc either, but normal drinks so beware of being ripped off.
But apart from that if you can put up with the rude spanish and the arogant europeans who seem to think they own the footpath (And they say the English are the rude drunken louts) then its ok Basically you get what you pay for. But seriously hotel isnt to bad for what you need its right in center of town/shops 5 mins walking
