Booked late deal found on teletext but booked through the company. Airport transfer not offered but transfer to Arenal was only 17euro each way using taxi outside airport.
The hotel had only opened for the season the day before we arrived. The hotel was spotless but freezing cold, no heating but was offered extra blankets on arrival. The room on third floor looked like it had been refurbished very clean basic, nice bathroom excellent shower, telephone, no tv, kettle, air con or heat (could be a problem when very hot or very cold).
The weather was bad when we were there rain, wind, hail stones on one day, with no heating in the hotel we couldn’t get dry or warm. The food, breakfast, eggs (fried and boiled) bacon, sausages, mushrooms, toast, bread rolls, ham, cheese. From what we heard from other people in other hotels we had a good choice.
Evening meal varied from chicken, pork, lamb, pasta dishes and sauces, chips or roast, salads. vegetables. Always managed to find something to eat although a lot of German visitors they did cater for all tastes.
There was a problem with the electricity when we were there often going off, this could be a teething problem with the hotel only just opening. The walls are very thin we could hear our neighbours like they were in our room but they were extra noisy with music blasting and shouting but they were young lads 3 sharing a room, after several complaints from guests the manager did ask them to respect other guests but it fell on deaf ears.
Arenal is a basic resort usual tourist shops, market thurs, found two English pubs Sportsman, Queen Vic both worth a visit both offer great food. Many nice restaurants to eat in. Nice walk along the front towards Palma, if you look at the beach bars they have a number on them we were closest to no2 we walked to no 15 it gives you an idea how far you have to walk back, or you could get the little train along the front for around 3euro.
Bus to Palma every 10 mins worth a visit, no 15 long route no 23 express only runs every half hour. All in all you get what you pay for I would say it was a 2* not 3 as advertised, Can't comment on the pool never used it. Building work on hotel in front its been gutted so dont know how long they will be working on it, no sea view. The Dutch receptionist is very nice very helpful speaks different languages so would help with any queries.
