my son and me stayed at le morgan with a junior skool party of about 40, the hotel is perfectly situated with the entrance to the slopes across the road. its central position in the village made it ideal for all our needs.
The staff (Rachel and the GANG! haha) were very friendly and helpful, on his morning off, the boot room guy came in to help with the kids boots and skis after one quick fone call. (Ask and they will help)
my son was sick for a day after travelling and many of the staff asked after him, they really care about their guests.
I would highly recommend this hotel and its staff for school skiing trips.
We didnt hear any noise from the nite club and waking up to the smell of the bread shop next door was great..
- Advice: its a small friendly village with all you could need on site
- Activities: the views are purely spectacular (i only made it to the green slopes)

I took 2 teenage kids to Risoul for xmas and can honestly say that we had the best time thanks to the friendly staff at the Morgan. The atmosphere in this small hotel is great. The rooms are quite basic but clean and well maintained. The food was delicious!
The skiing was perfect for both intermediate and beginners,we couldn't have asked for better conditions. The pistes were well maintained and there were no queues at all for
lifts even though the resort was full.
- Advice: The resort is small but the skiings great

On our first time to this resort we did not have too higher expectaions but am please to say Risoul combined with Vars has some of the best Intermmediate skiing I and my family have every done. The snow conditions were perfect, even as early as over New Year. Risoul is a small compact resort with everything you would need.
The hotel Le Morgan was also great. The food was of a good standard (even if we did have to wait a long time to be served each night) The staff we very freindly and helpful, couldnt do enough to ensure we had a great tiem. This includes the Childcare team.
The only negative about the resort is the long transfer time (at least 3hours) and about the hotel is that it is noisey. At night you can hear everyone outside and in the early morning can hear each door that slams, we did not get much sleep which in turn made me run down and ill.
I would go back to Risoul but would prefer to stay in Vars where the skiing was evern better and would choose accomodation off the main resort road.

We did not actually stay here as we were booked into the Risoul apartments which were dreadful! Dirty crockery, the place looked like it had not been cleaned since it was built, it really was foul!
We had our little boy in the childcare in Le Morgan and they were fantastic! They took him to feed the horses, took him sledging etc. We decided to pop in on the 2nd night of our stay to see if there was a chance of getting a table for food, the manager said that they did not normally do that but they allowed us and we ended up there every night! They could not have been more helpful if they tried (the unlimited wine with tea was also a delight!).
I highly recommend this hotel, we were a little bit disappointed with the resort as it is very limited as to what you can do after a day on the slopes. The only thing we found was the Le Morgan quiz night!

The Hotel staff were friendly some more than others. The location was as stated in brochure.
The rooms are dated. The quality of food was good but there was not much of it.
The ski hire shop below hotel was good. Not much to do after dark. Some nice wide runs to learn on. Plenty of intermediate there to get you going.

My husband and I and our two children 10 and 8 stayed at hotel Morgan in Jan 2007. Although the hotel is dated and needs some tlc, it was clean and the staff were great, really friendly and helpful.
The food was ok, portions a little small and as we wanted the children to eat with us in the evenings and not have the earlier children's meal they would not allow them to have chicken nuggets or chips etc. as this was only served at the earlier time ( did not go down very well ).
The skiing was excellent and we could not fault the ski school. There is also an lovely cake shop next to the hotel which we just had to indulge in often. Risoul is a small village, in which we felt very relaxed and at ease - great holiday, we would definitely go back.

The hotel small and a little dated however, the staff made up for this. The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.
Would I travel back to this hotel? If you could guarantee the same staff for next year possibly however, I would like to try a more modern/larger with TUI Crystal.

The property itself is very well placed near the slopes and, in spite of being a little run-down and ragged around the edges, is reasonably comfortable for a weeks skiing. The rooms are large enough for two with a reasonable sized bathroom & toilet en-suite, albeit the general fitment is oldish & we only had a small wardrobe & table with a few hooks on the wall.. It makes hanging coats & drying towels interesting, but it is manageable. There is a bootroom/skiroom, which is small and has no boot drying facilities. The bar is not cheap (as claimed) at around £4-00/pint for their cheap lager, for example. As for the general food, the portions are meagre and of quite low quality. If you have read some previous complaints in this vein, prepare for worse!! the new owners (equityski) appear to be driven only by reducing costs (quality) rather than providing extra that could be charged for (evening meals are now only served with 1 vegetable, rather than the 2 only a few weeks ago)... in this respect its more of a ski-hostel than ski-hotel. Having paid for your meals already, and not being able to purchase extra on the premises, it is also not permitted to bring extra food into the hotel (even to supplement special diets) As it was explained to me, 'if you do it, everyone will want to'... I consider this was more an admission of the inadequacy of the meals than reason to prevent people eating properly! Given the physical exertions of skiing, this is quite unsatisfactory. Having stayed in another of equityski's properties a couple of years ago, I was looking forward to staying at this one. Sadly their cost-cutting has taken the adequate to the inadequate and ended up costing me some £20 a day extra to eat out in the evenings. In this respect, I would rather have paid more to stay somewhere better- and certainly will next time, only not, I think, with rocket/equity ski
