We stayed at these private rented apartments for 1 wk. We wished we had booked for two. All the apartments are different as they are all privately owned. Ours was very nice.
Across the road is a very reasonably priced supermarket which has long opening hours. Everything is literally just round the corner. Bonanza Square is two minutes away, this has shops, bars, chippy etc. 5 minutes walk is a beautiful park, with animals roaming free (very tame). 10 minutes down hill to the beach (hard work walking back).
But we stayed around the pool which is 1st class (cleaned every morning). It has slides for the kids and a great bar serving food.
These apartments take about 20 minutes by taxi from the airport. They are very central for hiring a car and exploring the rest of the Costa del Sol.

The Jupiter was quite a good well looked after place to stay our room on the 8th floor was pretty decent except a few things needed fixing or replacing as it is a privately owned room a superb view of the mountains & sea though not good for people who dislike heights!
We ate out everyday & night since it was cheap around the square the beach is a 10 min walk downhill the park is very nice we could actually see it from the balcony. So overall we had a good time & a pleasant stay at the Jupiter on our second stay out here.

Myself and 3 friend visited Benalmadena for our first girls holiday - and what a holiday we had!
First of all the apartments were brilliant, very clean, not decorated to our taste but not offensive in any way.
The pool was absolutely amazing, again very clean, and well maintained. We spent every day round the pool area topping up our tans.
Around the apartments are some great bars serving some tasty cocktails including "fat frogs" and "pink ladies.” There is also an amazing Chinese restaurant up the road (turning left as you leave the apartments) offering 3 courses and a drink for 5 Euros.
On our first evening of our 14 day holiday we heard quite a loud noise from outside our room. Sounded like music.... we followed it and eventually after 30mins of wandering the streets and nearly getting run over, we found a fantastic fairground. This was very Spanish orientated and we found we were getting a lot of strange looks from the local girls our age - but what the hell!
Almost every night from then on we walked down to the 24 hour square which is absolutely amazing. We got to know the bar staff in the bars/clubs. You do tend to get mithered when you are walking along the strip approaching the bars, but they’re only doing their job!
Most nights we ended getting back to the apartments at 4/5 in the morning after a struggle up the hill (backwards), one night we ended up back at 10am-it really is a 24hour square!
My one tip for going out at night is to only go out when the sun has gone down - even if you go out at 9pm, the sun is still out, and it gets too hot, leave it a bit later when it cools down.
All in all a great holiday, fab apartments, fab restaurants, fab nightlife - would definitely visit again!

Excellent holiday overall. Stayed at the Minerva privately owned apartment, very clean, excellent swimming pool, best ever seen.
All what you need is on bonanza square with all amenities, plenty of bars cheap beer and spirits not shy on them either.
Nice English breakfast at jonnys bar and eagle cafe, Indian, Chinese Spanish food all catered for.
Worth catching a train to Fuengirola to the super large shopping mall and of course the Spanish markets.
If you have young children they will enjoy the park where they will see rabbits, terrapins, chickens etc and Tivoli world is a must and get on that boat from the fantastic marina for a trip on the sea but make sure to get the lotion on.
Although there is plenty to do, you can have a relaxing time also.
Well worth a visit will see you in 2007 Benalmadena.

Jupiter is one of several related apartment blocks in Arroya de la Miel Benalmadena.
It is cheap, easy to find from the main train station. There are plenty of English people out there to ask for directions!
The apartment is opposite the Supersol supermarket, which was excellent value for money and had long opening hours. There were also others within a couple of minutes' walk.
The area is full of bars and restaurants of all varieties so there's plenty of choice not requiring too far to walk. The Halfway Inn sells the best fish and chips ever- this is approximately 5 minutes away.
The Paloma Park is within 10 minutes' walk and is fascinating with rabbits, cockerels and other birds roaming around freely. The seafront is also 10 minutes walk downhill but this is not a steep incline to return.
The apartment itself was basic but that suited us as we were walking and out every day.
A good block if you only want somewhere to sleep- the bed linen was old and tatty and the smell of cigarette smoke was present in the room and on the blankets- I don't think they'd been washed between users but the sheets and towels were clean.
The small kitchen was equipped basically and satisfactory for doing some cooking in the apartment.
The main pool which is shared with the Minerva block was closed but to be expected in February.
Overall, a reasonable basic block of apartments. Communal areas and the apartment were very clean and towels were changed twice during the week. Bus and train services are excellent. Local markets at Paloma Park excellent.

Benalmadena is a beautiful place, particularly the park where you can wander around with the chickens, rabbits etc and watch the terrapins in the lake.
The Jupiter apartments are centrally positioned although it is about a 5 min walk uphill from the beach.
There is a beautiful swimming pool, although having to have your photo taken to gain entry was a bit intrusive.
Overall the apartments were very good and near to the square for bars, restaurants etc.
We enjoyed sightseeing in the area and Benalmadena is ideally situated for the resorts of the Costa del Sol and Gibraltar.

As far as SC accommodation goes, its excellent. The Rooms are all different as the are independently owned.
The building is getting old and could do with a refurb. But the pool areas are 1st class. A couple of slides with a massive pool surrounding. Plenty of space to sunbathe.
Bonanza square is opposite and has loads of pubs and places to eat or just walk to Benalmadena.
Look out for the local park. Out of The Jupiter, turn left, head right straight down.

Fantastic pools best ever seen. Rooms basic but clean well equipped. Situated next to bonanza square which has bars and entertainment to suit all ages.
Massive choice of good value for money restaurants including Spanish, English, Indian, Chinese and Italian what more could you want.
Don’t forget to visit Jason at the Swan Inn and try a monster meal at bittos next door both on bonanza square.

Just returned from 2 weeks and enjoyed it. Bonanza square was across from Jupiter apartments, where we were staying. The room was ok, but not very clean! The toilet hadn't been cleaned, including the bidet, so that was my first job on arrival!!
Bonanza square was fab especially the big portions of food in Bittos! Everyone we met in the square, were very friendly. Go to Nervada Bar and visit Billy, a really nice wee Scottish bloke who will make you feel at home! Food in there is excellent too! Just up from Bonanza sq, is another row of restaurants and pubs, you can get a 3 course meal for 10 euros or go to Poppys - the rack of ribs in BBQ sauce is to die for!!
The marina is only a 10 min walk and the view is gorgeous and there are a lot of sea food restaurants along the beach. Just watch out for the waiters trying to get you to go in and eat in their place!
All in all we enjoyed our holiday, but did get a bit bored towards the end - 2 weeks is just too long unless you want to go out and get drunk every night!
