Simplest way to put it is, do not go to this hotel!
The staff are ignorant, the rooms are rarely cleaned and if there is the slighest hint of fun it will soon be stopped.
As soon as we got there the lads in reception were ignorant and arrogant. Thinking they were somehow better than everyone who walked through the gate, which is highly doubtful. If a flea ridden dog came into the hotel it was already more sociable and considerate than the "people" who work there. One day we got told off for water over flowing the top of the pool, and to wipe the smiles off our faces or we would be out on the street.
The security guard was constantly telling people to "shut up" at night even though the hotel bar blasted music 24 hours a day. Somehow our voices were louder than a massive sound system that even when you close your balcony doors, can still be heard...wierd.
However the hotel was only half of what made this holiday the worst. I went to Zante a couple of years ago and it was a great island, i couldn't wait to get back, but in the past two years it has changed drastically. If you want to go to a seedy place where 3 courses of food and a free bar are given to you for 10 euros then Zante is the place. 3 courses for 10 euros?? obviously the standard of food was appalling. If someone back home said "oh come on in lads we've got 3 courses of food and free drink for £8" there would be some questions asked, the standard wouldn't be great i imagine. By the end of the holiday we went to the same restaurant on the beach called Cool Peppers, by far the nicest food on the island. Which is obvious as all of the other PR's say it is "too expensive". Granted it doesn't give you 3 courses for ten euros and a fishbowl at the end of your undercooked meal, but i guarantee you will not spend the next day on the toilet.
All in all i am disappointed with what Zante has become and i can promise i will never return. The vivian apartments were the icing on the cake, i could not wait to get away from the foulest behaving staff i have ever seen. i have learned my lesson not to compramise money for reviews. fair enough it was cheap, but i would gladly spend more money to stay in a hotel where you do not feel intimidated and the staff occasionally smile.

I never writen a review before but my mum also reads reviews before going any where and when she showed me the ones for the Vivian i was dreading going their.
The hotel was a little walk away from the main strip but managable. Subway and realy nice pizza place (one slice 2euros) on the way back.
The rooms were cleaned often and sheets changed and bins.
Do watch out for the security man especially lads!! he was the worst bit of the holiday, even if two of you are just talking he will send you back into your room. We got charged sheets because henna which was 15euros for a bed sheet. But we broke are room key and kettle but because we told the manager straight away we never got charged.
The strip is brilliant!!! Zeros is the place to end up. If your not on one of the bar crawls Pink panther offers twohour all you can drink for 12euros and does karaoke if thats your thing.
Their are pently of places that offer starter, main and 5 drinks for 10euros really nice food as well .
The pool was always lovely and clean with plenty of sunbeds. You are not alowed your own food and drink including water so just seek it out around the pool.
The 24hour bar served main meals for around 4euros. The bar man was a lot of fun and really friendly.
The rep was really fun but is a bit sex obsessed but its only banter. The six of us paid i think 160euros for the escapades package which paid for the booze cruse, beach party with 30% of water sports, water park, and four bar crawls. If your up for doing everything it is well worth it!! BUT dont buy a drink as soon as you get in each bar wait until the drink offers start usaualy 20minutes after you have been their.
If your not into clubing holidays or 17-25 years old in a big group of friends this place aint for you.

A decent hotel but the majority of people there are 17-20 so quire young. Not much going on and the reps (although very friendly) make a lot of mistakes so whether the excursions are worth all the money you pay for them i am not sure.
Hotel is very basic and not too much going on. Decent pool and sunbeds for relaxing but the pool closes at 6 which is a little frustrating. Maids are very lame at changing towels and if you get a mark on the pillow or anything then there are heavy fines!
Location is fantastic. 5 minute walk to the strip or the beach. Decent bars on the strip are Cherry Bay, Linekers and Zero's,

We loved Zippy and Beanie (not even sure if Beanie was a rep for the viv but he was constantly around), met them on the first day and they kept us entertained for the whole week.
The bar guys (Casper and Pablo/Luis) were really nice too, really funny. The blonde lady that was hanging around the bar sometimes was horrid though, so rude. On the penultimate day she turned up at our room with dirty towels which she claimed were ours when we hadn't even used them - had to run down to the shop and get some bleach to avoid being charged for at least 2 towels (broke the ashtray but we weren't charged for that... ridiculous).
Room itself was pretty basic. Cleaned daily, nice bed, bathroom was a bit rubbish though.
You weren't allowed people from other hotels to stay (managed to sneak somebody in once though!) which was a bit annoying but Andreas (security guard) was quite cool about everything else apart from noise.
We were bed & breakfast, and so our rooms didn't have a kettle/hob/cutlery etc. and the breakfast was just 2 pieces of toast with a boiled egg and took about 20 minutes to arrive. That breakfast was not worth not having cooking appliances at all.
Basically, an amazing holiday. Such good reps, such good nightlife, and then spending all day by the pool was perfect! Only bad things were the breakfast and the towel charges (even though we managed to avoid them)

The vivian hotel was great!! Me and my mate were in one of the top rooms which had blue neon lights in the roof! :) our room were also cleaned regularly at least once a day which was great. The pool area was also awesome! It was very spacious and good music is played. The pool does close rather early at 7pm but is cleaned vigurously as well as the outside of the pool area. The bar staff are extremely friendly. Luis serves during the day who is a calm cool guy and you get the mighty casper at night who will make you the best cocktails and he is really good at tricks with flippin botlles n stuff haha! Hotel owners are a bit naggy but is nothing you cant put up with. The only big downside was when we came to leave the hotel. Between me and my mate we were charged 50 euro for dirty towels and pillow cases etc. Which they hadnt even tried to wash! But we just payed the 50 n went on our way. All in all vivian is a fantastic hotel!........ Not too far from the strip either about 10 mins walk. P.s no matter what anyone tells you GO TO THE WHITE PARTY!! It was easily the best night of my life!

Firstly, I must say that I loved the hotel, the staff were friendly and the rooms are very clean and tidy.
The pool and bar area is a great place to hang out during the day (9am-7pm), yet the bar is open 24/7, plus the bartenders are great fun. I will also add that the room-maids are very professional and clean the bins frequently and tidy your stuff!
The strip is a great place to go every night, it had endless amounts of pubs and clubs that are amazing! The beach is great to go to, even though the distance from the start of the beach to the sea is only about 5 meters. The sea is nice and warm and is quite shallow for about 100 meters.
The great hotel is let down by two people, the security guard and the rep. Firstly, the security guard can be very pushy and quite offensive but it's easy enough to ignore as you're too busy enjoying your holiday! Secondly the rep we had, was the most annoying thing about the holiday. We were greeted by a free shot as we arrived then he took us aside to discuss his knowledge of Zante and what we 'should' do. He mentioned straight away his offer of the package deal including the Booze Cruise and other activities. He bigged up all the activities and had an obsession with sex on all activities. He was very inappropriate and we declined the activities he offered. We were then ignored by him for the whole week we were there.
Except for the rep and security guard, the Vivian and Zante is a great place to go, you can eat out and drink as much as you like for under 12 Euros and the clubs are AMAZING (Zeros and Rescue especially).
I hope this review helped.

Was impressed with our accommodation at the Vivian Hotel. Myself and my roommate were exceedingly worried after reading some terrible reviews but were relieved to find that the hotel was of an excellent standard. The room's were clean upon arrival and our towels and sheets were changed maybe about three times max. The maids emptied our bins frequently so there was little to complain about!
The check in was swift and any delay we met, was catered for by offering of a free shot. Similarly the checkout was pain free and easy. Luckily our room was free of any additional charges (bed linen stains etc) but another room of ours had a charge which was so minimal it amounted to around five euros each, hardly worth complaining about.
The staff were friendly, especially the bar staff Luis and Alex. The pool and poolside was exceptionally well kept. Closed, perhaps, a bit early at 7pm but cleaned meticulously of all dirt and litter.
The grounds within the hotel were also blasted with water to remove sand and dirt. The bar was reasonably lively at the night with reasonable drink prices. Through the day it served lovely food at a good price which was excellent for when we were lazing about the pool.
The minor complaint we would have would be of Eddy, the security guard. We found him to be rude and inappropriate and on one occasion, he barged into our room and told us to leave for 'ignoring' his 'requests' (demands) to be quiet. There were a few altercations between him and other people within our party so we filed a complaint through Thomas Cook and our Escapades rep. Funnily enough after that was processed, he was very friendly and subdued, offering all 15 of us a free shot or two.
Overall very very pleased with the Vivian, and hope that others will read the more positive reviews and go with less on their mind!

After reading all the reviews about the security man with a bat and all the charges for sheets and towels i was dreading going to this hotel but i was so happy! the rep zippy was the best rep ive ever had the hotel it self was basic which is what to expect but its clean! The hotel manager victoria did her best to help us because of our flight times and having to check out but not flying until the folloing day she got an old room cleaned for us and really couldnt do enough to help us as the hotel was fully booked. As for the charges we didnt get charged at all my friend got fake tan on the towels too all they charge you for is if you get the uv on the sheets and other things like that things that stain just dont take the mike! The security guy is fine he does not ave a bat amd looks after all the guests1 Ive has one of the best holidays and would defo go back to the same hotel! met some great people!

I went on a girls holiday in 2009 with 1 friend and we met a few other girls over there, we had a blast. Our Rep Lloyd was amazing, such a good laugh and kept us up with all the party antics. Zante is fab for nightlife and just genuinly having a girly mad break away. The only downside was the Vivian Hotel, its more like a boot camp than a hotel. You get charged for EVERYTHING!!!! I found it weird when they took our passports 'for safe keeping' this is really incase you make any marks on sheets or towels so they wont give you your passport back until you pay the charge, which actually happened to a couple of girls we met, on the last day they got a room check and they had dirty towels (doesnt help when you get 1 towel a week), the staff (Vivian and dennis) demanded 50 euros for the towels but the girls refused, so the staff would not give back the passports which ended in uproar. Dennis's girlfriend even got violent pushing one of the girls down the stairs. They also charged boys we met for coke spilt on a bed 150 euros. We got charged 20 euros becasue our table top fell off, which it was already half falling off when we got there but we failed to report this in time. Most of the staff are aggressive (mostly night staff). The rooms barely get cleaned. Its the worst hotel ive stayed in, if it wasnt for the great people we met making the most of a bad hotel i dont think i could of made it through the 2 weeks there.

Not was I was expecting at all from all the bad reviews I had read!
The staff were really friendly and nice especially the guys behind the bar, they got along with everyone! Can't say the same about the **** reps and their rip off deals. You're better off doing all the things by yourself e.g. Pink Party, carnage because it's cheaper and you can do what you like when you like. The only bad things I can say about the hotel itself is the fact we had to drink in our rooms or at the bar past 12, but you weren't allowed to take your own drink to the bar and they were quite expensive to buy! The hotel staff take a passport from someone in each room (if you have more than one) and they do a room check before you leave, just to make sure everything's the way you found it, no stains on the sheets, broken furniture etc. We were really careful not to do any damage to the room after all the reviews we read so we didn't have to pay!
I'd defnitely recommend this Hotel.
