My wife and i have just returned from our second holiday staying at the siesta playa and enjoyed every minute of it.
The apartments were very clean, the maids do a brilliant job, the staff more than helpful and the pool and grounds very well maintained.
we looked literally whilst there at other hotel/apartments and cannot see anything better than the siesta playa. The hotel is right on the beach which is perfect if you have young children.
I would not hesitate to go back there. absolutely perfect

We stayed at Siesta Player apartments from 23rd Aug 2010 until 31st Aug 2010, We thought the rooms were a bit small for 4 people and had some ants but after spraying them they didnt come back! The pool was nice a big and always managed to get a sunbed. The beach was lovely and the marina was 2 mins away with lovely restaurants and shops! The animation team wake you up at ten telling you what things you can do like water polo darts ect but with kids we did not want to sleep later anyway. We had a fab time and would consider returning.

We returned from the Siesta Playa appartments last Monday and we were very impressed with the whole set up. The appartments and reception areas were kept spotlessly clean and the staff all very helpful. It is in a perfect situation right on the beach and a minutes walk to the supermarket and Marina so all amenities on tap. The bus stop is virtually outside so cathcing the local bus to the Cuitadella market etc. made easy. We did have reservations after reading some of the reviews posted but they were unfounded. We would definately return. :)

Stayed for a week all inclusive at siesta playa may 2009 & enjoyed every minute. The staff were very friendly & helpful, apartment very clean, beds & pillows comfy, clean towels whenever you wanted & clean sheets twice a week. Food brilliant, varied menu, our 6 year old daughter ate like a horse! Animation team did nightly disco which our daughter enjoyed but daytime activities seemed to cater for the germans. Bar closed at 10.00 which wasn't a problem as mostly families with small children. Nearby marina has bars with live music & restaurants which would appeal to teenagers. Superb supermarket few yards away for self-catering also large playground next door. Can thoroughly recommend.

We had read a few iffy reviews about siesta playa witch worried me a bit!
But i was soon rest a shored it was fantastic the best hoilday we have had for years!
We lazed around the pool and if we felt like it we were a couple of steps away from the beach witch pleased us all!
The harbour was great we were in an apartment right onthe road but we heard no extra noice than what we would hear anywere else! There was a great night life that suited everyone and the noise wasent heard in the apartment.
The food was great there was a lot of choice we had some of Britains most fussiest eaters with us but they enjoyed the food!
The apartments were clean and tidy and were cleaned and beds sheets were changed every over day!
All staff were kind and helpful especially the waiters and waitrasises!
There was a childrens entertainer who was there most days and did lots of different activitys with the kids from painting to swimming and building bricks to games!
The pool was lovely and cool (well not first thing in the morning it was freezing!) it was spacious and the litle childrens section turned into a great net for playing vollyball!
So as you can see siesta playa was FANTASTIC for us!

After reading some of the reviews about the Siesta Playa in Calan Bosch,
I did wondered if I had booked the right place for our party of 8 adults and 2 infants.
We flew with Monarch and had a rep from Cosmos.
We arrived at our apartments after dark, so had a quick drink then off to bed
We woke in the morning to find a beautiful apartment block and pools with a lovely sea view
The staff were very helpful and friendly, the cleaners were always about making sure the site was clean and always willing to help with any problems we may had had . so top marks from us! for our stay

Having ready a mixed bag of reviews...

Having ready a mixed bag of reviews before travelling, we decided to go with an open mind to the apartments. On arrival the initial impression was not a good one. The reception area was dark and quite scruffy and a number people trying to check in were being told that their rooms would not be ready for a few hours. That aside the receptionist was friendly and allow there was a power cut and she was unable to check us in at that point she did give allow us to go to our room. The apartments are small, basic and in need of an update and a better cleaning service. This aside the pool area was excellent. It was clean with lots of sunbeds (no getting up at 7am to put the towels out) and the potition of Siesta Playa apartments is probably the best in the resort, with direct access to the clean white sandy beach from the pool area.
The harbour is a five minute walk away at the back of the apartments, with lots of restaurants to choose from and it really does come to life in the evening.
Overall, I wouldn't choose to stay in the appartments again unless they were improved (though lots of families we spoke to returned year after year) but I would recommended it for its position.

Just need to put the record straight...

Just need to put the record straight for all those thinking of booking or have booked to stay at these apartments.
Arrived back from Menorca 2 days ago with hubby and 2 children (age 7 and 11) and having sampled many holidays in Menorca (including Cala n Bosch) have to admit that this had to be the best holiday ever.
The room was ready for us when we arrived (one bedroom apartment), on the ground floor as requested and was clean, cool and spacious. Everything was in working order and some equipment (eg fridge, coffee machine and toaster) appeared to be brand new.
Set in beautiful lush gardens close to a wonderful clean pool, we were just 8 steps away from the amazing white sandy beach.
No need to worry about sun loungers - there were more than enough for everyone although you did need to get up a 7'ish to ensure you had a spot in the shade (it's the english you're up against here!).
With masses of restaurants to choose from in the harbour each night we settled for self catering but did use the snack bar at times during the day. Nothing wrong with the food there.
Supermarket just across the road, close to the bus stop which takes you to Cuitadella, mini train stop, harbour and amazing waterpark (a must!).
Children's entertainer was available on site most days and gently encouraged children to take part in art activities, magic classes and mini pool games all within sight of parents. Younger children loved her.
Usually hire a car but with everything on our doorstop and 2 very happy kids we didn't see a need this year.
Would recommend it to families with children of all ages (plenty of teenagers having fun there too!).
Would go back tomorrow but to save even more money would book direct via the apartment website.

i have just been looing at the reviews for some of the places in menorca.and i saw siesta playa.i stayed there last year.with my boyfriend.i cant belive the bad reviews! and just want to set things straight.the hotel is very lovely.infact i dont thin the pictures they show do the place any justice.there are lovely gardens surrounding the large pool which is kept very clean with a nice poolside bar.the waiters were very friendly and helpfull.literaly 30seconds down the garden n your on the beach.which is like a little cove.very pretty.around the hotel you have a lovely port full of shops resturants and bars.ideal for families not at all rowdy.like i said we stayed here last year.this year we had booked to go back.would have been going next thursday but had to cancel :( as when we got back we found out we were expecting our first baby. :).so we will be going back next year now.and still staying at siesta playa.admitedly theres not much in the way of entertainment but theres a pool to relax by.you have the beach.youv got resturants close and lots of nice bars.also car hise is very cheap and there a few excursions.one being the glass bottom boat.which was cheap and makes for a good day out.if you want an all inclusive holiday which would probably be alot cheaper there is a hotel next door.which shares the same lovely surroundings and the same bit of beach.and looked like they were always having lots of fun its called cala n bosch hotel.

Sep 2007, Mrs A Reilly

We (2 adults & 1 child, aged 7) have just returned from a 1 week self catering holiday at the Siesta Playa.
I had read a few iffy reviews prior to going which worried me a bit, but apart from the apartment being slightly dated (more modern tiles needed), I soon realised the rest were unfounded.
The apartment was clean & tidy with air conditioning, fridge, 2 ring halogen hob, Sky TV, new microwave, kettle & toaster. A couple more utensils (a can opener being one) would not have gone amiss, but we purchased one from the supermarket just over the road. It was cleaned 3 times during the week. We had a problem with the patio door (very hard to open/close & lock) but after reporting this, it was fixed the following morning.
The pool area was lovely & it was great to be so close to the beach too. The Kids Club was great, my daughter loved Klara (the girl that ran it), and she was so patient with the children. There is a nice kids park (mini golf, go karts etc) called Goody Goody's down by the Marina too.
We did not eat in the restaurant at the Siesta Playa as we preferred to go down to the Marina & decide where we wanted to eat that night over drinks at Chaplin’s (English bar). You really are spoilt for choice & there are prices to suit all pockets. Our overall favourite was El Pato (we went there 4 times) due to the vast menu, excellent food & service at very reasonable prices.
This is the first time we have been to Menorca and we were told by friends it was really quiet, this was not the case. Cala n Bosch is brilliant, quite lively, but perfect for families. We loved it & would return to the Siesta Playa but for either 10 days or 2 weeks next time.

Please do not think this is another...

Sep 2007, Mr G Cutty

Please do not think this is another whinge about little things.
We booked and then read reviews and thought that some people are just very picky, but this is not the case. There were 2 adults and 2 children (6mths,3,and 11) in our party and we stayed for 1 week as a last minute decision to try and get some sun.
We had originally felt the baby was too young to take abroad but with a poor summer we felt we needed some sun.
I booked the Siesta as it was advertised as 4 star! This is not a 4 start but a poor 2 star. We arrived and were told the room would be ready in 1hr 30mins at least. I explained that as it was very hot we would prefer not to wait as we had young children and they gave us a room in a corner of the apartments which was covered in ants and smelt terrible.
I went back to reception and asked for a room change which they insisted was not possible as it was full. When I told my wife this she was upset and said she could not keep our baby in there and so she went to reception. They did give her a change of room and the new room smelt clean and had a nice view.
Over the week the maids cleaned the room twice and we had a change of towels twice.
When my wife asked if new towels were available she was told that as the cleaners were not working then this was not possible. Some of the staff were very friendly but part of the entertainment was watching the unfriendly staff argue with British guests around the pool.
We love Calan Bosch and this was our second visit. We previously stayed in the Marina apartments which I think were 2or3 star and were very dated but cleaned every day and the cupboards were not full of ants. Killing the ants became the favourite pastime for the kids.
We will be going to Cala'n Bosch for many years to come as it is perfect for children up to teenagers which they then may feel it is not as lively as they would like.......but...
We will never ever go to those apartments again. We would not even take a free holiday there. God only knows what all inclusive must be like.
I bet the people giving good reviews do not have young kids and therefore have willingly turned a blind eye to the cleanliness but I urge anyone looking for comfortable clean apartments not to go here. Cala'n Bosch YES...Siesta Playa NO NO NO.

Just returned from Siesta Playa two weeks Jun- July 2007. Brilliant hotel, great location, great pool, friendly helpful staff.
Party of 6 2 adults 2 kids (3 & 6) + two grandparents. Stayed in two apartments. on third floor looking over parkland. We found the accommodation to be a little dated, (like in tiles, on wall and the wood trims) but in excellent working condition. Reasonable size for 2 adults & two kids, we got two apartments next to each other. Just used kitchenette for making sandwiches for beach, consists of toaster (new), microwave (new), cooker, fridge. Couple of cupboards, kettle (new).
New TV with Sky News & Cbeebies and few Spanish channels. Great for kids as you can swivel it to face bath. Air con works a treat when you work out that the patio doors need to be shut to activate it, this was a real treat to chill out.
Had one issue with a faulty light switch (fixed immediately) rooms cleaned either daily or every other day. clean towel etc etc... (excellent job).
Pool and pool terrace area lovely, clean safe, warm water, kids can take boats, lilis, play ball in the pool, snorkel & dive. Food, beers and snacks all lovely from bar on pool edge, reasonable prices. I rate the pool area 8.5 / 10 would have got a 9.5 if the hotel had a policy of not allowing sunbeds to be booked by early risers putting towels over loungers and not turning up until 1-2pm. i just got up early if we were to spend day by pool to chuck out some towels, having said that even when I didn't get up with just sat in the bar chairs with our towels, no one seemed to mind; rather this wasn't allowed though.
Beach lovely, blue warm water, white sand, gentle slope to sea. Purchased two parasols from supermarket for shade. Nearby beech of son Xugar 10 min walk, very even, more lovely with snack bars facing sea under shade, great for those lovely coffees or beers.
Eating out? You will be spoilt, the harbour area 5 mins walk, absolutely fantastic, food wonderful, kids menues all around 3 euros, for 4 adults & two kids having wine, milkshakes, sangria, 3 courses, coffees etc etc comes to around 100 Euro with tip. Around 25 restaurants to choose from.
Goody Goody park for kids tucked in corner, mine loved this. Hire a car, visit town of Citudella, nearby beaches and coves, Cala Gardana, around 100 -140 for 4 door car with A/C for week. We had 7 seater people carrier for 360 Euro.
Overall we all loved this holiday it was brilliant. Siesta Playa is a great hotel, brilliant location, clean, tidy and friendly. I would say that Cala N Bosh has got to be one of the nicest resorts in Menorca.
Would i return? You bet we would. Same hotel? Yup.
