Excellent Value
from PippynTippy
I must admit, i was a little aprehensive when i read some of the reviews but i thought its only 3 days, lets see what its like. You shouldn't always belive what you read; small and dingy restaurant, un helpfull staff, inedidble food. Some people will complain whether it be 1star or 5star. In a nutshell, its a budget holiday with excellent value for money. Great choice of food and drink in an excellent location. I would recommend anyone to try it, you'll be pleasently supprised. n.b yes the coach does drop you across the road, so what!!!!!
holidays are what you make them

my mum booked this holiday for myself and 12 other girls/women aged between 17 and 60 for my birthday. its true what they say on the other reviews the coach driver doesnt drop you off at the hotel BUT its only across the road!! we arived just in time for our tea. the food was average it was what you would expect for a 3star all inclusive holiday. we didnt go hungary anyway. the rooms are basic but very clean. the walls are rather thin though, luckily we had booked 6 rooms and they were all next to each other so it wasnt to bad as we could only hear each other. we booked this holiday for a 3day get-a-way break and we made the most of it. we had 2 fab nights out in the local night clubs (that stayed open untill aprox 5am) and one night in the hotel as we were all very tender from the intake of alcohol we had consumed. i wouldnt recomend this hotel for famalies but id deffinately recomend it for group holidays or young couples who are up for a laugh and gets that drunk you cant hear the other drunks comming home
Good value considering

On arrival at the hotel we were somewhat daunted at the amount of noise coming from the bar and reception area and this was really the only major problem during the holiday. The food was very acceptable, the rooms were cleaned daily and the hotel was very clean throughout. I found the staff to be friendly and accomodating especially considering the hotel had only been open for a month and they were obviously still finding their feet. The guys who are running the entertainment deserve a medal, working 13 hour days and continually upbeat. The position of the hotel is excellent as it is right on the beach. Santa Susana itself is a purpose built resort full of the usual bars, cafes and tourist shops but as the hotel is located so close to the railway station it is very easy to get about and visit the neighbouring towns and villages we particularly enjoyed our trip to Pinada de Mar for a taste of real Spanish life. It is also only a hour to Barcelona. Overall the hotel was perfectly adequate, especially considering that the hotel was catering for us on a budget of £10 a day all inclusive, although the beds and bedding could have been better. As has been mentioned in previous reviews the biggest problem by far was the behaviour of the alcohol fueled Brits some of their behaviour was to say the least embarassing but the hotel staff appeared to cope well overall albeit they were quite clearly mortified at some of the antics going on as quite frankly were more than a few of the guests. At the moment definately a hotel more suited to younger guests up for a lively time but this is down to the clientel not the hotel.
excellent for money

19th april - 26th april me and my sister in law went to this hotel and resort and we really had a good time, the hotel is situated beach front with just a quiet little road/path to cross, the beach is lovely and clean which strecthes for miles, the hotel is very nice too, basic but nice, PLEASE NOTE 1st floor is not suitable as we was first place on first floor and patio doors broke so we got moved straight away to 4th floor where that had a nice sea view and no worries of a break in. food in hotel is very very basic but acceptable,it was good value for money, we ate in hotel bout 5 times throughout our stay, there are lots of excellent resturants all close by, alot of people were moaning about the hotel food but surely for £200 for a week all inclusive, transfers, flight, hotel i really cant understand their moaning!!!!!!!! we had an excellent chill out time and weather was fab, returning again in august!!
hotel that time forgot

Having just returned from a four night stay at this hotel, I have to say it is truly the worst hotel I have ever visited. Most of the staff were rude and ignorant, the food (served in a small dingy, smelly room) was inedible and we couldn't even get drinks that we asked for. We witnessed a waitress cursing at a guest, then continued to complain to her colleague about the guests ! We booked as an all inclusive stay, but fortunatly took enough money to enable us to eat and drink at other hotels and cafe bars. The resort of Santa Susanna is lovely and has lots of decent cafe bars, it's also in a great location close to Callela, Llloret de Mar and only an hour's trian journey away from Barcelona. All the other hotels in the area were really nice, right across the road is the H'Top Royal Sun which is superb. The Los Pinos was advertised as newley refurbished, I would not like to have seen it before !! It is in a nice spot backing onto the beach, but looking at it from the beach it looked old and dirty amongst the other hotels. One of our party had her purse stolen in the hotel, reception did not want to know when we advised them, so we went to the local police station, which only opened for three hours a day. It is advertised as offering a money exchange service - they do not. The drop off point is quite a walk away, the driver did point in the direction of the hotel but we had to find it ourselves. If you are looking to book this hotel - please take my advise, don't ! You will regret it !!
Cheap & Cheerful
from kellybarry1
Had read lots of bad reviews and whilst we were there had lots of people moaning, but actually had a fab time. I think people forget that they pay so little to stay in an all inclusive hotel. It was clean, the food was basic and edible, with quite good entertainment (Butlins style!). Close enough to train/bus station for good day trips to Barcelona and local areas. Only downsides were that the walls were so thin you could hear everything and April is not really that hot. We had 5 out of 7 dry days but there is a strong coolish wind, so the beach/pool is out of the questions. But for a cheap and cheerful holiday with lots of food and drink its a great break
worst hotel ever been to!!!

I booked this short break away for my sisters Hen weekend. There were 16 women aged between 22 and 55 years old, all out to enjoy a fun weekend. This was not the outcome. From the start we were not dropped outside our hotel, we were dumped on a corner by the coach driver and left to find our own way to the hotel. On arriving at the hotel at about 11.30pm there were several people warning us that the hotel was not up to standards and that alot of people were in their beds because they had eaten at the hotel and were being sick all night. We then got allicated our rooms which we had 5 rooms booked, but they were scatered all over the hotel, then we put our casese down and was about to go out and see if there were any bars open the security came and said we were making to much noise and if we didn't stop he was going to call the police on us. The next day the reception staff were very unhelpful. One of our group had to get a later fligth and was meeting us at the hotel, so we asked if someone could find out if her plane had landed and they replied that we could have the number but it wouldn't help us as the airport staff wouldn't understand us because we were English and that they were not willing to speak to them for us. This sort of rudness was not limited to just the reception, the restraunt and bar staff were worse and either shouted at us or ignored us. The holiday was was going from bad to worse and then the rules started to change aswell the first day cocktails were included in the all inclusive package and then the next they wasn't this also happend with packets of crisps and the sauna room with no explanation given to why. The food was not satisfactory throughout the whole of the three days we were there and the entertainment was very poor. We then asked to change rooms as there was a couple next door to 1 of our rooms that just wanted to argue with us, they did change the room but we forgot a pair of trainners in the room and when we went to ask to go back in to get them the cleaners had already been in there and cleaned it and the trainners had gone!!!! Then we were told that we had to phone and make sure we were booked on the coach back to the airport 24 hors before we were due to leave which would mean we should have phoned them on the Sunday but the reception said that the office wasn't oped on Sundays and to wake up early on the Monday and do it then, so I did and they told that we couldn't get on the coach because we should have phoned on the Sunday and that their office is open 7 days a week, so we had to get 2 trains and a bus to the airport. I will never be going back to this hotel and it has put me off going back to Spain, I'v never been spoken to so rudly before in my life.

Excellent location for young people, wouldnt recommend seniors
from shaunysheep69
Went to los pinos after i finished school with 5 mates, was a great holiday, but would only recommend the hotel if your up for a lively holiday, a lot of teenagers go to this resort for clubbing holidays. Decent hotel, maid service is daily, food is ok, 1 minute walk from the beach and 5mins from bars/clubs and pubs. Would recommend it to young people. Pool is a bit small but the beach is only 1 min away.
Ear Plug Experience
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at Los Pinos this past week and it feels like we won Survivor status. This was the worst hotel experience of our lives--absolutely NOT a family hotel. The hotel simply did not control the noise of its guests--young guests were running up and down the halls slamming doors and screaming at each other until all hours of EVERY night/early morning. After the first night we complained and asked to moved to a different floor. They moved us the third day but still had the same noise problem. We had to buy earplugs but this didn't help much. Seems the hotel is more interested in fueling the noise (selling alchohol) than accomodating their guests. Since we had package deal we couldn't get a refund and leave. This was our first and last trip to Spain. Also, note that the hotel was advertised as "on the beach" but one has to walk up the block and cross a road to get to the beach entrance. Other negatives: no free drinks with supper--drink machines turned off and one has to order from waiter/bar to get even water; doors to balcony wouldn't completely shut on both the rooms we had; small rooms with beds crammed together.
If this is the worse hotel we have ever had the misfortune to visit. The staff were rude.
