Probably the best located hotel in Meribel, the Chaudanne is superbly situated in the heart of the village, very close to the main gondolas and approximately 3 minutes' walk to the central square. Under normal conditions, you can ski to and from the doorstep. Most bedrooms have a balcony but some rooms without balcony are eaves rooms with skylight. Particularly good for families - a good games room and another table tennis room just off the main bar (rather than in the bowels of the building).
Food is served in the Eterlou hotel - accessed directly from the hotel, via a private underpass and we thought it was excellent. Good variety and good quality.
The hotel makes an effort, there was usually some event being put on in the main bar for guests to participate in.
Rooms were not exactly cavernous - but in good order with an en suite shower and bath. Ours had a balcony which overlooked the stream.
Would recommend the Chaudanne and would definitely return.
