May 2006, Mr N Bonner

Fantastic place, staff great especially reps Laura, Laura, Lara, and Adam. Good food, good service and lovely swimming pool with cold beer ready on tap! Fab. Activities were great for adults and children and will definitely go again, hopefully the lovely female reps are still their.
Went into Portinatx and visited del boys bar, service good, and made up lots of cocktails and entertainment on every night including quizzes and karaoke nights. Cant wait to go their again it was a pleasure meeting all these fabulous people who made us feel so welcome.

We have just returned from a weeks...

Sep 2005, Mrs C Holden

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Presidente Hotel in Portinatx, it is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The food is not just good, its excellent. The town area is not for the people who want to go gadding about till the early hours, but it is very pleasant. We did have a lunch or two at Pedros cafe a few times, that is well worth a visit, they are a very pleasant family.
The hotel staff are very helpful, it is very clean, and the entertainment staff work very hard, but they are not pushy, if you don’t want to join in you don’t have to. The pool area is great with plenty of sun beds, and our room had two double beds. Well done to ALL the staff. Barry and Christine Holden of Blackburn.

Aug 2005, Mrs LM Atkinson

This year was the 4th time that myself, my husband and my 10 year old daughter have stayed at the Hotel Presidente. Our first stay (when our daughter was 4), was the best holiday that we had ever had and hoped on our 2nd stay it would be just as good. We were not disappointed! Each time it has only got better!
From the Hotel staff to the Thompson Reps, and everyone in between, we have always received excellent service, fantastic food and a warm welcome (the Reps may change each visit, but the Hotel staff are largely the same wonderful team that were there on our 1st visit - and remember us!!) - nothing is ever too much trouble and any queries or requests are responded to quickly.
YES - you will have to reserve your sunbed with a towel if you want to be next to the pool! NO it isn’t located in a busy town with heaps of bars and shops! But if you just want a good hotel, great food, and entertainment for the children we think it's got it just about right. We will definitely be returning.

The Hotel Presidente is a lovely...

Oct 2004, Miss M Holly

The Hotel Presidente is a lovely hotel. The food was first class and always a great selection to choose from.
The restaurant itself was always spotless and air-conditioned. The entertainment was ok but got a bit tedious after a while. The Thomson superfamily reps were great and always worked really hard to give you a good time. The only drawback for me was that the bar prices were very expensive and tiny measures.
The resort is very small and there is not alot to do out with the hotel. There is a square with a few shops and 2 bars about 10/15 minutes walk from the hotel, which is not for the infirm or disabled. The rooms were cleaned every day and clean sheets approx 3 times a week.
The bedrooms were spacious with 3 single beds fitting in comfortably.

Reception: Helpful with all staff...

Aug 2004, opinions4u

Reception: Helpful with all staff speaking English. Nothing seemed too much and I was never kept waiting.
Rooms: Modest sized but good enough. Tea and coffee making facilities provided free of charge, although two tiny cartons of cream a day were not enough so we bought a litre of milk for the week! Fridge hire was 21 euros a week, ideal for stocking up with cold drinks from the local supermarket to avoid paying bar prices too often! Air conditioning was noisy but much appreciated - remember to shut your balcony door for it to work! Sea view worth paying £40 a week extra for!
Bars: A large indoor bar serving drinks and basic snacks, duplicated by a small outdoor pool bar serving a wider range of meals. Service usually good, although a small tip is always expected. Soft drinks typically 1.90 euro with a beer 2.65 euros served in a glass smaller than a pint! Bar food was dry but adequate. Drinks are served in strong plastic cups which avoids the risk of glass by the pool.
Restaurant: Wide range of buffet foods to choose from including a children’s section. Vegetarians provided for. Food was usually warm - hot and much is prepared and served at the buffet bars. Breakfast "juice" drinks have added sugar. Small queues build up after 9am for breakfast and 7.00pm for dinner.
Poolside: It is a little crowded, so apply your German bloodline and get the towels down on the sun beds before 8.00am to book your spot. There is a small 18 inch deep pool for the really small ones and a reasonably large pool for the older ones. The shallow end is about 3 feet deep, but rapidly gets to nearly six feet deep without any barriers, so you do need to keep an eye on non swimmers to make sure they stay in the shallow end.
Entertainments: While the Thomson Super family jingles are a bit nauseous, the entertainment team are excellent, providing daytime events in and close to the pool. Evening entertainment included a Beatles tribute band from the Czech Republic, a Lionel Ritchie impersonator and the brilliant English comedian Frankie Lane. A kid’s mini disco every night was really popular with our six year old. S

Hotel was lovely, rooms were nice...
8 / 10
May 2004, Mr S Hargreaves

Hotel was lovely, rooms were nice with 3 beds in & great sea views, lots of choice at breakfast & the evening dinners although in our second week the hotel was getting busier and we had to wait for a table in the evenings.
There was a separate kids buffet at the back of the restaurant which had burgers, chips, spaghetti etc & there were jars of baby food & a microwave to use.
Only issue we & many other guests had was allowing smoking in the whole bar area which is not good for the children in a "superfmaily" hotel. However after many complaints the hotel staff made a smoking & non-smoking section. The entertainment staff were great, worked really hard & the kids all loved the mini disco each evening.
There are 2 playgrounds & a softplay room for under 3's & a drop-in room where they can paint etc if the kidzone clubs aren’t in it. The hotel is at the top of a very steep hill down to the beach which can be difficult if you have a pushchair, however there is a road which takes you about 15mins to walk if you can't make it & it brings you out at the shops & the beach.
The only disappointment was the resort itself. There is a small square with a few supermarkets & tourist shops & a handful of small restaurants & that’s it. However it’s easy to hop on a bus or the tourist train! Would definitely recommend a superfamily hotel to anyone!
