Just returned from Presidente Hotel, Portinatx the hotel is set on a hill and to get to the beach theres a steep bank so not really suitable for people with walking difficulties or buggies pushchairs etc ( unless your fit ) I stayed on AI and a good job to as the drinks are expensive 2.55 euros for a small beer but theres a boozy buys where a litre bottle of beer costs 1.10 euro and you can have a glass and drink it there also delboys and vincents are good average pint 4 euros for uk brands and entertainment on ,these are located in the main square which is down the steep bank and across the beach , the hotel food was good with lots of choice from salads to carvery and the sweets were nice , I must say in the time i was there the boiled potatoes were hot only once other times warm like most of the food not piping hot as it should be to avoid tummy upsets , the hotel staff were very good and helpful and the kids reps were good with the kids , the reps all very approachable , the pool is rather small for the size of hotel and gets packed quick , there is a small gym and a jaccuzzi ( chargable ) also the rooms have fridge and safe to hire but again expensive at over 3 euro aday for each I had the safe to keep passport and money in but wish I had had the fridge instead as this did lock with a key so could be a safe as well, a small cafe/bar just below the hotel Los Pinos did snacks burgers etc as well as full menu if you fancy a change or peckish after a few drinks much better value than the hotel Burgers and hotdog snacks which were the instant microwave type . there is also a small bar down the bank which did a great donna kebab , all in all a great holiday will go again if the price is right but not a real choice for me

Just got back from 10 days at the Presidente - we had a great time! We went with our 2 small children who both had a great time.
We went all inclusive - we found that the food was good - plenty of choice, the drinks were good too including draft branded coca cola. The only small downside on the food was that the childrens buffet didn't really include much veg - though you can mix and match between the adults buffet so this didn't cause too much of a problem.
The staff were great - there was always someone from Thomson at the hotel, so none of the usual 'see your rep on a Tuesday' type problems. The staff are so hardworking - the entertainment staff (Flipper, Becks and Jen) work such long hours but were always happy! The creche staff were so friendly too. The only staff I found slightly offish were the football/swimming coaches who kind of gave the impression they were a bit too cool for school..
The location of the hotel is great, but the hill down to the beach was quite steep. Also, we originally booked a sea view room, but had to change after a few nights as the entertainment is held around the pool til 11pm, which was SO loud and kept our baby awake. However, the hotel were really good about this and let us view a few rooms before WE chose which one we wanted.
We would DEFINITELY go back to this hotel!! Its FAB!!

I have just returned from a week at this hotel. The hotel is great for families with small children. I went with my husband (we are both the wrong side of 50) my daughter and son in law and our Grandson who is 19 months. The staff are very helpful and keep the kids entertained. The food is a little canteen like but perfectly edible. Portinax is a stunning resort but unfortunately as all the Hotels are all inclusive it has killed the local trade for the bars which is a pity. The bar prices at the hotel though are a little higher than in the UK.

Fantastic Holiday

This hotel is so under-rated and should be a 5* The food was excellent with a variety of choice. The staff couldn't do enough for you - very helpful and professional aswell as friendly. The hotel and surroundings were always clean and well maintained. The reps were fantastic, especially Jellybean Jenny and Flipper who took time out of his busy schedule to teach my son how to dive into the pool. We couldn't find fault at all .... and we are fussy lol !! The weather was fantastic, very hot, however on the final 2 days it was slightly overcast which we didn't mind because we were glad of a break from the sun. One thing i would recommend is that before you hire a safe, hire a fridge because there is a compartment in there which can be used as a safe and avoids wasting money. All in all we had a fantastic holiday and will definately return :-)

I have read some of the reviews and I must admit this hotel is brilliant for couples with children but I think for a couple on there own it is a nightmare. There were children screaming and running about even when the evening entertainment was on. I also paid for a 4* hotel but had to drink out of a plastic tumbler even in the lounge at night. The food and the staff were very good and this did save what would have been a miserable holiday.

Hi all, we have just come back from spending a week at the presidente hotel, and it was great! The entertainment staff: flipper, bonkers becks and jellybean jenny were excellent, really kept the kids entertained throughout the day and also at night, they are so hardworking and i dont think they get the credit that they should! they always made the adults get involved as well again during the day and night. The restaurant staff were really friendly and also hard working, food was nice, plenty of choice. The only bad thing, which really isnt that bad was the beds were a little uncomfy but that just be me moaning, all in all i would recommend this hotel especially if you have little children because they will love it!

a fabulous holiday at the Presidente

I've just returned from a two week stay at the Presidente in Portinatx with my partner and two daughters (8 and 6). The resort is small but has plenty of choice of bars and restaurants and a couple of gorgeous beaches - clear turqouise sea, lots of fish (who eat bread from your hands) and perfect for children.
The Hotel was excellent, food very good etc, but the decor etc could be updated. "Cardiac hill" down to the beach was a bit steep, but not as bad as I'd expected it to be having read all the reviews. Drinks and ice creams etc in the Hotel WERE as bad as the reviews said. Magnum 3Euros 50! A bottle of wine in the restaurant 15 Euros (and the same bottle for 2 Euros in "Boozy Buys" - beer off in the square. Most people seemed to buy there own drinks and take them with them at night and the bar staff generally turned a blind eye to this.
Reps were generally ok - Sarah was extremely hard-working and good. Nathan was funny but not sure he really "gets" kids...didn't seem to have an awful lot of patience. Bingo every night not my "cup of tea", but people generally seemed to enjoy it.
Our girls joined "Razamataz" which was brilliant - theatre/singing lessons and a show for the kids (High School Musical, Hannah Montana, Greece etc). Laura and Matt were brilliant.
We did the "Sunset Ibiza" trip - gorgeous and we did the "Hippy Market and Water Park" - very good but a bit too rushed for me. We also made our own way to Ibiza Town - lovely, but don't go on a Monday or you'll have the exhausting climb to the top (well worth it for the fabulous panaramic view) because the Cathedral and Museums are closed on Mondays.

Portinax is a little remote but has a lovely beach. Hotel Presidente is definetly geered around the kids. My 2 children are 7 and 12 and really enjoyed it here. The food was a good variety. The drinks and ice-cream prices are ridicolously high. The restauraunt and reception staff are really nice. Nathan and Sarah the children's entertainment staff were fantastic they both never stopped whilst we were there. Kerry wasn't that good but she'd only been there for a little while so maybe had a lot to learn!! Some of the kids reps were not that good. I think the rooms need a little updating but comfortable enough though.

  • Advice: Small but a lovely beach
  • Activities: Dwlboys is a good family pub. Ibiza town is a lovely place to visit.

This was our 2nd stay at The Presidente, firstly in 2007 when our eldest was 16 months and with that being such a great experience it seemed the obvious choice to go back 2 years later with our 2nd baby too at the age of 14 months (eldest being 3yrs & 4mths). This hotel is brilliant if you want to keep your kiddies entertained and lets face it if they're not bored it leaves you to have a moments peace! Some descrice it was a "butlins abroad" but I find that it's appeal - 24/7 entertainment for all!! The evening shows sometimes leave a little to be desired and the resort of Portinax hasn't much else to offer (except Del Boys which is a great family fun-pub!) but that's good news if it keeps this place young family friendly - no clubs = no hassle in my book.
The hotel went down a little in the 2 years from our first visit by the way of it's food on offer, much more catering for brits if that makes sense. More chips and 'meat n gravy' than I remember before, I like to know my children will eat, but I also like to feel I'm away from home and can take in some of the local dishes.
The Thomson Reps did their upmost to keep all entertained and whenever spotted in the main square of Portinatx made an attempt to say Hi - really if you've not been Portinatx is that small they would recognise you!. The kids-zone for our 3 year old was excellent and the creche and baby-zone avaliable for a little one was exceptional. Honestly, if this is your first holiday abroad with a little one you will be amazed at how easy Thomson have made things. EXCELLENT FOR KIDDIES (and Adults who are young at heart!)

Just got back from a weeks stay at the Presidente and cant wait to go back again.
Went with my wife and two kids and i must say hand on heart it is one of the best holidays i have had in recent years.
Hotel is great, always immaculate and staff are always on hand to help with any problems should you need them.
Thomson reps are very hard working and my kids loved them, especially Nathan and Kelly who are fun personified.
Hotel food was great and i came back a good half stone heavier than what i went.
Portinatx itself is small but perfectly formed with picture perfect beaches and crystal clear waters.
It was quite expensive for drinks and ice creams in the hotel but that was the only negative in a otherwise brilliant week.

absolutely loved it again the thomsons team were fantastic again, thanks to nathan, kelly, charly, sarah, and mark, but a bit loud.lol.kids loved it the entertainment wasnt as varied as other years but if the kids are happy so am i.hotel staff were very friendly as always, very clean as well,my problem is the price, they are overpriced for drinks snacks and ice creams,3 euros60 for a cornetto is disgusting and what do you do when the kids want an ice cream, for this reason we wont go back unless we get a lottery win,if you are booked dont get me wrong you will have a great time just go prepared with a cool bag and a corkscrew.
