Chalet is marketed for 12 people (there was 10 of us) and find it rather small. Seating around the table is squashed, there is hardly space for 10 (+ your chalet host) so not sure how 13 people would enjoy eating. Breakfast is very basic bread + jam and some cooked stuff (frozen sausages or bacon nothing spectacular) NO FRUIT OR HAM CHEESES etc. Chalet host doesn't live in but spend most of the time in your chalet so you feel like you are invading their space !!! It's your chalet - they work for you!! It is bit like open house with other chalet workers popping in and out all the time... no keys to rooms and code to main door which seems everyone knows the code to!!
Seating on comfy sofas is not big enough for large party. Rooms are smallish but ok. No table or chairs to put your stuff in. Rooms 4 and 6 are on top floor and seems the nicest ones in the chalet. Rooms on ground floor are small and expect 2 narrow single beds and 1 beside table there isnt anything else there... Rooms get made up during the week but not cleaned! Change of towels on wed. Afternoon tea is nice but after 4 days of cakes you feel like no more cakes please! Make your own coffee & tea.. if cups have not been washed after b.fast there aren't many spare... same goes with glasses cutlery...
3 course dinner is served at 7.30pm. If you there is normally late but if you are running late - though!! they will start without you!!! Food was delicious and our host was good cook. Not much veg or salads served. NO cheese board at all!!! No second helpings so if you still hungry ... you be starving. On other hand they will happily change the menu to your requirements - vegetarian , no egg etc.
Staff has one day off - dont expect anything on that day - you may not get any sleep on that night either as stuff tend to party in front of your chalet till early hours!!!
Place was nice but make sure you book the whole chalet as it could be bit difficult sharing with other people....
Good location only 5 mins walk from Les Eucherts (blue run). Not busy resort so if you wanna party every night I suggest you dont go there.
- Advice: small resort good for someone starting.

I stayed at Le Hannenkamm with my 12 year old daughter from 21st feb. This was my first time in a catered chalet as we usually do the self catering thing. I have to admit I had my reservations about staying in a chalet with 10 strangers but we had one of the best holidays in 5 years of winter holidays. We were pleasantly surprised with the chalet. We stayed in room 5 which is one of 3 rooms on the top floor, the room was very spacious with an en-suite.We had twin beds, with a wardrobe large enough to take all our clothes for the week, and shared a balcony with one of the other rooms which had fantastic views of Les Ark and Bourg st Mourice. Although the lounge area is not very big we found that not everyone was using it at the same time so we were never stuck for a comfy seat !Our chalet host was very friendly and helpful, having to cater for 12 people (two 12yr olds)with induvidial tastes is never easy but she was very willing to change the menu if there was something we didn't like.Although the menu was basic, the food was great, breakfast was a choice of cooked (bacon, sausage, egg, mushrooms etc), porridge. or 3 different cereals, as well as bread and was a great start to the day.We were even treated to pancake day 1 day early one morning as the host had her day off on Tuesday, which went down especially well with the younger members of the party. On return to the chalet evry afternoon there was a fresh cake left for us.Dinner each night was 3 courses with wine and again there was enough variety to keep us all happy.
The resort of La Rosiere was again a bit of a departure for us as we usually head to the larger, better known resorts. There was enough terrain from tree runs to wide cruisers to keep us happy and there were so many opertunities to cut 'off piste' safely. We had a dump of snow the week before we went but even on Thursday/Friday we could still find powder to play in !La Rosiere is linked to Thuille in Italy which about doubles the ski area, my only gripe, if I can call it that, is that the only way to reach it is by a 3km poma, not great on snowboards !We didn't go for that reason ,but some of our party did and reported similar terrain but cheaper prices for food etc.
All in all a great little holiday, very laid back and family orientated.Don't be looking for rowdy pup crawls or anything like that!Plenty of places to eat on the hosts day off ranging from pizza to fancy restaraunts. We paid about 10euros for a large pizza with a beer around 5euros.
N.B. we were charged an extra £40 by the holiday company to get an ensuite room only to find that 'all room are ensuite' there are two rooms on the top floor,4&6, which share a toilet but have showers/Baths in the room.If you get a choice choose a room on the top floor as the balcony views are fantastic !
