I do not know why all of these reviews are so bad. The food gets pretty boring in the second week but it will with all inclusive. The staff were very friendly and were helpful, also the animation team kept the kids and my husband very busy in the day time with lots of... more

To sum it up the Helios hotel should be no way near rated a 4 star, it should be at the most just a 3 star. The hotels overall quality and cleanliness just wasn't up to scratch. The hotel looks dated, dull and the facilities were pretty basic (it does not reflect their... more

Having just returned from a week at Helios Spa and Resort, I thought it would be useful to counter some of the hugely over the top criticisms on this page. I went with my wife and two small children and we all had a lovely time at this very clean, facility-rich hotel. We... more

We stayed in the 3* (no choice when we booked online). Rooms were OK although cock-up with booking when we arrived which we had to be very assertive about getting sorted. Restaurant was ordinary and should be renamed from Gourmet to something more fitting. Confusion about... more

All inclusive? Never again. The only soft drinks allowed are Pepsi cola (only in restaurant everywhere else is just cheap poor tasting cola), cheap fizzy orange, cheap fizzy lemon and lime, water. The only alcoholic drinks are local vodka, rum, whiskey, gin. All served with... more

just returned from Helios Spa (16th aug 08) on an all inc basis. Stayed in the 4* part of the hotel, room was of a very good standard (maid in every day). The food was varied but sometimes not overly hot. The hotel was generally very clean and the staff were o.k towards us.... more

We stayed here for 1 week. We arrived at this hotel at 2am in the morning. We had just a roll on the plane at 6pm. We arrived at the airport about 11pm. We sat on a coach for about 2 hours, while taking others to their hotels, never again. When we finally arrived at the... more

I might only be 14 years old but I have very strong opinions over this hotel, I thought the staff were so rude there was only a few who were polite such as the bar staff and waitresses. The shower was full of grime and the carpets were filthy, there was nothing for the... more

Wonderful Pace!!!!
My family and I have just returned from a stay athe Helios Spa, it was truly wonderful. The bus journey was very long alright from Bourgas, especially as we were travelling at night, but once we arrived at the hotel, it was so worth it! Our room was spacious and spotless, we were on the ground floor overlooking the tennis court ans was lovely and quiet. The staff were superb, i can't say enough about them, especially the cleaners, beware though with the towels they supply you, if there is one missing each morning, they may charge you if it doesn't turn up! There was my Husband and i in a double bed and two sofa beds for my two boys aged seven and nine, which were very comfortable as i slept in the bed one night when one boy fell asleep in mine! I was worried going into a hotel with two boys but it couldn't have been easier, if i had more space in an apartment, we would have created more mess! There was a double shower and minibar with the items not at all expensive. The room was cleaned spotelss each day between 9am to 1.30pm. The breakfast was delicious, some mornings a chef would cook you pancakes and omelettes, lovely fresh criossants, warm bread out of the oven, all types of hot and cold breakfasts to suit all nationalities. The pools into the slides were fantastic and the indoor pool was great on the thunderstorm days, we had 5 bad days! The waterpark was a 2 minute walk and party street was 30 steps away, people went on about the steps, they were grand, if you didn't want to take them, there was a lift to bring you straight onto Party Street. The only down side of the golden sands were the girls handing out flyers, they were in your face, if not them the people trying to entice you into there restaurants, it was suffocating. Apart from that, ther was loads to do for kids down the strip, lovely restaurants and bars past the Big Wheel, the Hotel Admiral is worth a look inside, its gorgeous and we found the cheapest beer for 2 pints was in the Irish Bar Hotel Sofia for 5 lev (2.50 Euro). Shopping heaven, clothes, jewellry and bags dirt cheap!! Iwill definetly return but will fly into Varna next time, Varna a big dissapointment, very dirty and rough, do not go on your own, ther are young fellas on mobiles saying what you look like etc and you won't find anything nicer or cheaper than you will in the strip. Public toilets are spotless arount the resort but it costs 0.50 of a lev, 25 cents, worth it they are so clean. Bon Voyage!
