the hotel was really good- nice, new and modern, the staff were friendly too. Ski to your door, and lots of snow.
The food was very cheap, there were nice restaurants and a good supermarket.
overall it was a very good holiday

just returned from a 1 week ski hol on 3rd April 2010. The snow was fantastic powder, though we were lucky as they had had sun the previous week which had made conditions poor. The appartments were clean and basic with towels and cleaning pack provided. The boot room had your own locker with heated boots! a pleasant surprise. A very quiet apartment block, pool table, table football and a DVD play room which kept kids happy whilst we sat in lounge area. (there were 4 families in our party. The apartments had its own supermarket which was cheaper than the spa, it did cooked chicken and chips for 4 for £10!!
The bedrooms had very firm beds and as usual the sofa bed in the lounge, which was huge, was best if the mattress was placed directly on the floor to stop the bumpy springs being felt and the rool of bodies into the middle.
We didn't mind that there was no mid way cleaning, some may like this, we like to know that there is only us in and out of the rooms.
The slope did family lift pass for 667 euros. Despite us booking SEI ski school which stated max 9 there were between 11 and 13 in most groups. Counting the ESF group numbers, they were similar. We thought the instruction was not great as no great improvements were seen, the instructors seemed to take them onto the jam park, through the trees and off piste alot which the kids loved!
Overall, great location, 5 min walk to slope and ski schools, Usual expensive drinks 6 euros for beer, 3.50 for cokes and coffee, pizza place in forum "cheapest" 9-13 euros.
Definately would go back. Did not do all runs in Flaine and only went over the top once. Some reds were very steep towards the bottom so be careful if you are not confident. Loads of off piste area which links onto runs.
Also lastly if you are intermediate, it may be cheaper for you to get lift passes in resort for Flaine area only as Gran Massif area which tour operators only do are 30 euros more per person. (The lift to other areas was only open on 2 days and as said earlier, there is ample ski for intermediates having to pick kids up form ski school to do in Flaine area)
