This is nothing more than a hostel. We took our kids to this "place" as a cheap second ski holiday and were very disappointed.
We were dumped by our rep at 12 noon only to be told that our rooms wouldn’t be ready until 4pm. There is nothing to do in Brides Le Bains with 2 tired children, believe me.
When we did eventually get given our keys we had to hand over a deposit for the room. Why I don’t know because nothing was worth anything!
We had to take our sheets from a cage and go and make our own beds up!! There were buckets catching water from the leaking ceiling, mould growing in the cracks of the walls and a really bad smell.
We got to our room and on the same floor there were some live wires hanging out of the landing switch so maintenance had to be called pronto.
Well our rooms were disgusting, plastic peeling off the sinks, bathroom panels cracked and ingrained with dirt. Quite frankly I had to give it a damn good clean before I would let the children touch anything.
The pool is a joke; it’s so cold the children would only go in it once!! And you had to walk across a courtyard to get to it, with it being minus figures - fun, I think not.
The gondola took about 25 mins to get to the Meribel slopes which were fantastic.
I would not take children to this place, but if you’re on a budget or this is adult only then I suppose it would be ok.

We booked this ski holiday with directski.com. We took a huge gamble that the snow would be good as it was the first week of the season. Fortunately the gamble paid off as they had the best snow record for the past 10 years!!
Brides Les Bains is a small resort and you have to get a gondola that takes approx 25 minutes to take you to the more popular resort of Merribel. This did restrict us to returning to Brides after the days ski-ing as we found the tax costs were starting to mount up.
As it was the first week of the season Brides was very quiet and we probably wouldn't go back again. But that’s not to say we didn't have a wonderful time. The holiday only cost £200 per person. The apartment wasn't the ritz but it was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The ski runs in Meribel were brilliant for all ages and abilities. Would definitely recommend Brides as a cheaper alternative to meribel.

This is budget accommodation, having said that, it is fine as long as you don’t expect too much! Its a little walk to the bubble car which then takes 20 mins to get to the bottom of the slopes.
There is no night life in Brides, and a taxi to Meribel will be expensive. The rooms have twin and bunk beds, however, if taking a family it may be a little crowded. You will need a deposit for bed linen, and check in for us was a little chaotic.
School groups were present but kept apart from families. Cooking facilities are adequate, and there’s a spar near the bubble lift which has a good range of food. This is fine if you want a cheaper ski deal, without the nightlife and don’t care that the accommodation is basic.
