Hotel Description:
Chalet Perce Neige is a newly built, delightful, traditional style chalet, set in an excellent location on the slopes of Avoriaz. This popular chalet has been a welcome addition to our programme. Ski to and from the door · Close to resort centre · 1 minute's walk to ski school meeting point · Sauna · Wholesome breakfast · Afternoon tea · 3-course evening meals with local wine and coffee included · Farewell feast · Services of Crystal Chalet Hosts. loading...

The chalet is obviously fairly new and is clean and freshly decorated. Rooms are perhaps a bit compact, but are tidy and functional. Twin bedrooms under the eaves have limited head room at the head end of the beds but is tidy and functional. Double rooms benefit from higher ceilings and full size wardrobes. In both room type the shower rooms are nice and have the benefit of a large heated towel rail which is handy for drying soggy clothes after a dya on the slopes!
Dining area and kitchen are reasonably sized with windows looking towards the town. Lounge area is a bit on the small side and only has some wooden benches with cushions for sitting on - would definitely benefit from a few sofas.
Chalet also benefits from a ski storage area with the luxury of a heated boot rack. Only drawback is the 15-step spiral staircase down to the ski storage which is a bit tricky with ski boots on. Another nice luxury is the sauna which is user controlled. We switched it on when we arrived back from skiing, and gave it an hour or so to heat up to the desired temperature.
Chalet is definitely well located, just along from the Plateau area of Avoriaz. Perhaps a little more than the 1 minute walk advertised in the brochure, but still a quick and easy flat slide on skis to the ski school meeting point. It's also possible to ski back to the chalet, taking the 1st left upper road route from La Crete piste at the top of the Tour chairlift.
Crystal chalet host, although young, worked hard and was very accommodating. Meals were reasonable chalet standard meals, with meat or fish each day.
Despite the few small flaws mnetioned above, I thought this was a pretty reasonable ski chalet and I'd be happy to go back.
Advice: A pretty big ski area, albeit a bit confusing with the many valleys.
Activities: If the weather's good, the skiing on the Swiss side is fab
Good for: Ski
