this was my second visit to the riosol,we wont be returning, bathroom flooded on a daily basis, sunbeds all taken by 9am,spanish were ignorant, and the entertaiment was dire, the hotel says it has two bars, but only half a bar was open, with one person serving. such a shame because the views are stunning, but thats all, nearly all the shops and resteraunts were closed down.(at the top).such a shame really enjoyed it there last yr,would return to another hotel.

Well just back from a glorious week at the Riosol. It was our first time in the hotel and we were not disappointed. exceeded what we expected. wwe are regular visitors to the island and have been for 10plus years so after reading some reviews before writing this i have to really disagree with the negatives ive read....cokroaches and insects do not only survive in hot places...we get spiders but it wouldnt put me off going to bed in my own home...come on people...anyhow the hotel staff were excellant in every way. all friendly/professional and courteous..we stayed in a 2 bed apt under the lopwer of the two pools. excellant location but some apartments at bottom may not suit everyone...but its peurto rico and expect to do some walking up stapes...else stay at the bottom....half boarders (now that was a first in PR for us) definitely not dissapointed, food standards and choice were excellant..variations daily and if we had to complain it would be only to say that.....well thats the point...we cannot fault whatsoever(so pointless making up some silly little point like at breakfast we had to get our own cutlery)....haha.....pool areas were large, dare i say it but the brits are the worse people for hogging the towels and swanning off despite our thinkings optherwise in my opinion...we used pool a few times and never had a problem getting beds up till bout 10am. mind you, even at that time 80% had towels on them despite the hotel asking not to...the pools were not manned but as we didnt have children it wasnt an issue, though vigilance and common sense prevails and there were enough staff around should any emergency happen....the rooms were cleaned daily (except sunday) safes in our rooms...no problems with anything at all (just to add we've been to PR 16 times over 10 years and have never had a security issue of any kind) i did leave me camera and phone (i know it should have stayed at home) on shown in wardrobe and to be honest should the worse have happened and they went m issing i would only have myself to blame and thats that..common sense again....views from opur room were fantastic...short walk to Europa Center with numerous bar.....xtreeemz being our preferred as have been going years...great night to be had there...cvafe mambo on the top level a nice chill bar too....other bars also worth a visit..
peurto rico beach reached by either steps/roadway/taxi etc....we generally walk down and taxi up (for 3 to 4 euros it was worth it)for amadores beach use same strategies....all in all riosol was by far the best place we have stayed in PR....3 star it is. yes tou can maybe have a bit more comfort in the RUI or Marina Suites (and maybe a few more) but this place in my view is not too far behind....we will definately be staying here again without a doubt (and to end I think I will make my one effort to complain......the pillows werent the best...comfort wise...you can have extras. or as a makeshift, theres extra blankets in the apartmernts...or roll your beach towel up.....simple.....or complain to the hotel about them haha.....im sure it will have happened numerous times.....
So thats my only gripe (as wew all have to have one i suppose else we wouldnt be human - unless it was all inclusive and thats another story), and so samll it is im not sure it was worth a mention.. i felt it was necessary to mention as i thought if all I had to complain about was a hard pillow. a small bug of somesort...the water was cold (they are on solar power and a lot of people need showers)etc etc etc just be glad its not Greece, as mostly on islands hot water may only be available to the first 3 people in apartments with say only 10 in those blocks)
FANTASTIC PLACE TO STAY........

we stayed here for 2 weeks from 4th aug 2010 2 adults 2 kids
we had no sleep for 4 nights due to the room being located under the lounge/toilets,all we could here where toilet doors banging and people walking up and down,
we were moved to another room 2002,nice rooms, cockroaches again, but had some spray from reception sorted it.
lots of steps to the cablecar and reception,
the buffet breakfasts were 100% fantastic!!!
if you go there defo have b&b,worth every penny.
picey to eat out in and around riosol,
over 600 steps to the beach but ok,
we liked the walk to shopping center to the left
the pools dont have anyone to look after or watch over it,my daughter was in it when a child was slavering in it!!
towels on sunbeds yet again folk hogging sun loungers,go after noon and none left loads left with towels on!!!
so unfair,

We have had two great family holidays there this year. The food is particularly outstanding as are the mini disco's for the children. The pools are gorgeous and the weather was great. In Easter it was a quiet, friendly hotel and in summer a very busy, popular place to be. Really great...looking forward to returning very soon.

My boyfriend and i booked this hotel as it was a 3 star hotel and our 1st time abroad we thought it would be nice but no. When we arrived there was a cocroach and insects in the front room, we was given single beds, the shower drain was blocked and there was no hot water. It took them 2 days to sort it out. We had to pay for the tv separetly and the male receptionist was very rude to us. The pub on site didnt open for the duration of our stay.I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone.

Family of four - two adults, two children just got back from staying at the Riosol, we had a great time, one bedroom apartment adequate, with extra two sofa beds in living area. Lovely large balcony with sunbeds, table and chairs, excellent seaview and pools lovely and clean, cleaners, paco and reception staff friendly. Only negative, pool attendant had his job cut out taking towels from sunbeds from inconsiderate people who had left them in the morning and not turning up till the afternoon to use them, when clearly signs around pool stated no reserving sunbeds alot of people still insisted in doing so, when asked politely though pool attendant removed them so other people there could use them. In my opinion the people saying staff were unfriendly were the ones who were breaking rules!

The Rio Sol was fantastic. Five of us shared a two bedroom apartment. The rooms are newly refurbished so everything was brand new and the rooms were lovely and clean.
Staff were very helpful and friendly and were extremly quick to respond if we needed them.
Food was nice - basic, but nice. Lots of variety.
Pools were both lovely with plenty of sunbeds and parasols.
Can't wait to go back there next year.

Stayed in Riosol for 1 week in July 2010, they room was lovely and spacious and had a HUGE patio with sunloungers, the food is good and varied, dinner is themed each night such as italian, french, german etc. The pool was nice but sunloungers go quickly, there is a small supermarket on site very basic but a larger Netto in the europa centre 2 min walk away, 3 Euros in a taxi to the commercial centre where there is loads of shops bars and resturants. All in all a great holiday, only encountered 1 cockroach all week and spray was already in the apartment, we did late check out for 25 euros which was handy also, safes avaliable in all rooms for 2 euros a day and air con machine also avaliable for hire. I reccomend going on a trip to the Mogan Market on Fridays in Mogan we went as part of an excursion with Thomas Cook which was 30 euros and included a boat ride out to see the dolphins, being taken to the market and them driven back by coach, a great day out.

we are just back from 2weeks in the riosol hotel. our first impressions of it were great, clean room, great pools, close to the Europa centre and would have been glad to go back in the future. this was until our last full day in the hotel. we left our room at 12 noon and went to the pool with our 8 year old daughter. we went back to the apartment at 2pm to get changed as we were headin up to the Europa centre to get a few bits and pieces for bringing home. we arrived back to the apartment at 4.30pm and started to pack a few things, as we were doin this we noticed that my husbands watch which he had put under his clothes in the wardrobe was gone, and slowly but surely we noticed other things, some silly things like a travel suitcase weigher and 2 packets of socks! at this point we thought wee had misplaced them but then noticed loads more, ghd straighteners, aftershave and most of my daughters clothes and some presents she had for her friends. when we went to the reception we were told to come back the next morning ewhen the manager was in and the woman didnt seem to care about it at all, to the extent that she didnt even take note of it or ask our room number! we went back the following morning and again the manager didnt care at all, only for the thomas cook rep we wouldnt have had any help. he gave us the number of the police station to ring and get a ref number, again this was very difficult as no-one seemed to speak english!! the rep then phoned us about 10mins after and told us that there had been been about 10 complaints since we had left the desk. no sign of forced entry and all doors and windows were locked. was definately the maid as it was a sunday and this is the only day the cleaners dont come round ie.they cant get the blame! i am disgusted with the hotel and i strongly recommend that you stay well clear of it, unless you are spanish! the 2 pools are over crowded from fri-sun with spanish who book one room but theres about 20 staying in it and nothing is said, and they are so loud and ignorant.

We went to the Riosol in June, there were eight of us in total, myself, my fiancée and my two kids in one apartment, and my sister her partner and two kids in an other apartment next to ours. We really loved our apartment, it was very clean, and spacious. There was great service, and the staff were very friendly to us. We had an amazing view of the beach. Our balcony was really big, with two sun loungers and a table and chairs, to eat our brekfast and watch the sun rise/set.
The kids loved the huge pools, which were spotless, and there was a fun clubhouse with different activities every day. There was free entertainment every night for the whole family. The food at the rester-aunt
was yummy, and the bar was great. Everything you need is a two minute walk away, supermarkets, resteraunts, bars, chemists etc. The beach is within walking distance, and we enjoyed walking to both the Puerto-rico and Amadores beaches most days.
We are so looking forward to returning to the Riosol next year, and are counting down the days!
